Adam had such a genuine spark. Unfortunately, like so many artists, it dimmed over time but has never been completely extinguished. Counting Crows deserve more respect than they have received.
Every band I like, sooner or later the singer/songwriter talks about how much they were influenced by Van Morrison. Adam did a fabulous job with this song. He really made it his own without detracting from the original.
I saw a brief clip of this performance during one of those HOF montages. I just saw Adam singing with Robbie Robertson accompanying him. I did not realize the rest of the band was with them. As much as I adore Van Morrison & his version of this beautiful song, I found this version mesmerizing, even from that brief clip. I just listened to the Van version, I remembered this performance and searched and this video popped up, thank goodness. This is an absolutely sublime version of this song. I must admit that as much as I love "Round Here", I found the rest of this band's music only OK. But this, this is remarkable. Thank you soooooo much for posting!!!
I was gonna say that this one sux...but because it only has 3 comment im going to say that I have found the ahhh thing that you find in songs that makes you appreciate them better
Not a good cover at all. Lacks way too much soul. In fairness, I can't think of many who could do it justice. And at least they turned up when Van couldn't be arsed.
He is so original. I love it. Last minute covering an icon. Hell folks give him some credit

This is the cover that launched this band. Thank God ;)
I like it. I love that the filled in for a Van Morrison No Show. It is well done. Wasn't supposed to be an imitation of the original.

Does anyone know if video footage of this performance exists? I'm surprised that so much of the 1993 Hall of fame stuff is taped, but not this
Great cover!
Adam Have a great beautiful voice
