#lines. I’m 17 I started my own little mowing business about 2 years ago. I came across your channel and you made me what to start pressure washing, and I absolutely love doing it. I don’t have the greatest washer but it gets the job done. I’ve done around 7 jobs and brought in $1800. I always look forward to your uploads, thank you Justin!
I'm with you. I avoid chemicals as much as possible. I have tried the going over it from a different direction, and it works well. But your right, it means you're going over it twice. I've found that moving the surface cleaner in a random, circular or arching motion is faster and never leaves noticeable lines. It's a little slower than the straight line method, but much faster then the double method.
Did a slab addition the other day that doesn't get sun and is right under a tree. Tried my usual non-chemical/ both direction method and it left grid marks! Told the customer I had a plan and went and just sprayed it down with bleach mix...took a look today and those lines were gone! Definitely nervous seeing those grid lines initially and took a lot more time but gotta do whatever to make it right for the customer I think there was just too much dirt/algae/moss for the first time going over it. This video gives me more confidence though as we all look to Justin for advice...Justin is the man!
I’m a newbie, but I find that spinning small circles with the washer prevents lines. I make them just a few inches greater that the diameter of the washer.
#Lines Good stuff! love that you included both options. The chemical is def a little easier but some customers as well as companies will just prefer taking the extra time and forgetting about the chems.
Justin, I’m in the process of starting my pressure washing business. My question is, what do you do with all of the debris that ends up and the end of the driveway after cleaning? Do you just leave it there? Have you ever had any complaints? Thanks!
I saw a new model that can be used for both cleaning floors and washing underchassis. "EVEAGE Upgrade 2-in-1 Undercarriage & Pressure Washer Surface Cleaner...", have you tried this one? how does it work?
I've just finished a job and used the surface cleaner for the very first area of the driveway and it started leaving marks so i decided to just complete the job with the wand, ill try the chemical method next time! thank you
As a beginner what two chemicals do you think I should have besides sh? I’ll have two one gallon pump sprayers for rust remover or let’s say graffiti remover. If you had to choose only two chemicals to carry what would it be?
Justin, are you using a downstreamer yet instead of a chemical sprayer? If so, can you make a video with your pressure washer using a downstreamer and your chemical ration breakdown? Say for like a 4.0 gpm pressure washer?
Question: I have a Craftsman 1900 psi pressure washer. Since it only has one tank. I keep the treatment solution in it for pre-treatment and add like a 5%? Thanks! If I want to add a post treatment, should I empty the tank?
Perfect timing. The lines in this video is exactly what I saw on my newish concrete slab. and I cannot find any videos that address this. Thanks for this. I just left the lines, because it was my own slab, but I was concerned about it for the future and my customers. Thanks for the tip. I will try both methods.
Hi Justin so I am also in the business and self employed. I have a question for you my customer husband pressure washed their driveway when it was 1 year old now there is etching lines do you think a soft wash with surface cleaner ( large nozzle orfice used) at 1000 psi would be good enough to work? I have not run into this before and I want to be the hero . Have you run into this if so what was your solution?
i have a 2.4GPM and with the exact surface cleaner Justin used (the BE WhirlAway 20") I have to walk really slow and get striping, but pretreat with SH it looks good as new. Also, if you use a 20" surface cleaner with a low GPM like I do, I recommend buying some nozzles for the spinner which are rated a bit lower as the stock ones usually are for 4GPM or so. I bought orifice 1.5 ones whereas the spinner came with 2.0
@@TrevoltIV Hey I’m looking to start my business soon and looking to buy efficient equipment. I definitely want a whirl a way but I was wondering if a 3.4 gpm would work good with a 20” whirl a way. I Was looking to ask someone who uses the whirl a way already to see their perspective. Appreciate it !
@@Fernandezszn It should work pretty good, I use a 2.4GPM machine with it and after I replaced the nozzles to a lower GPM nozzles, it works decently, although its pretty slow for mine. For 3.4GPM though it should be faster
I'm starting a pressure washing business in Los Angeles California and I'm trying to figure out the best equipment to get did you have any recommendations
When you apply a post treatment how long should it take for the lines to go away. If the concrete is just dirt not a fungus will spraying it with sh still work?
I have dark line ls in a brick patio I did I don’t have a surface cleaner yet so I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to reverse that or not but they don’t look like he lines you have here
Sumtimes I have found out its from going to fast the lines so I just slow down a lil but to piggy back off of what he said I always come back with chemicals after words but still thanks for the info #ApplyingThePressureLLC
The best thing is to check with your state , county, and city guidelines. Different areas have different rules. Like In Florida you don’t need a special license to do driveways, patios and walks.
We get a lot of commercial work by riding around job to job and listing businesses that need attention. On our rainy days here in the south we ride around and pass post cards to those listed businesses or get an email to send unsolicited bids. Even if they dont bite on the first walk in, we try and keep a presence and stay in their mind with follow up visits or emails.

How much money do u usually charge per house or per hour?
How much you charging?
I prefer using chem because it will stay clean longer. Customers can get upset if the concrete is dirty again in a couple months.

Pressure washed my back yard and it doesn’t look that different also it was dirty within a week. Did I not use enough chemical’s?

Chemical is definitely our preferred method and glad to hear that everything worked out for you.
Well done and prefer the 2nd pass method. Working with a stamped Concrete company on the side and never had issues when they sealed old or new.

Thanks for the pointers and now I can go handle my pressure washing problem with the confidence I needed.

it really depends what your market demands man
Circular method and/or post treat.
Lines!!! You’re too good bro
Using your 2nd method wouldn't that run the risk of etching the concrete as you are making a couple passes over the same spot?
no
You have to be careful on neé concrete but most others are fine
Lines!!! Perfect timing for this video. I just finished my first job at 3am today...and I noticed some lines even going over it 3 times. Thanks!
What do use and how much to remove lines after cleaning it
And what do you use before you use a surface cleaner
Great info, much appreciated
Your info is making me coin big time cheers buddy

I have used a circular motion method and only have to go over it one time. ( I'm using 5.5gpm with 20" surface cleaner)
Chris cross apple sauce with pre and post chemical is a sure way. It's slow but beautiful

Be careful on née concrete because if you apply too much pressure you can etch it

With the 2.5 it will take a little longer and you have to walk a little slower with the surface disc.

How did he have it set up to have SH come out a garden hose and a gun? I'm sure he used a 12v pump but I'll like to know how that's set up

What tip are you using for your soft wash handle?
Do you use a surfactant when you post treat?
