@Herdan fyi a very small part of eastern austria, the entire southern border of slovakia, a patch of northeastern serbia, 1/4 of the romanian-hungarian border and the entirety of szeklerland is hungarian majority land and weren't put into hungary after WW1 even though most of them are right on the border of hungary

After WW1, when Soviet Russia invaded Poland, Hungary wanted to aid Poland by sending troops but Czechoslovakia didn't allow it, so they sent almost all of their weaponries they had to Poland via Romania. During WW2, Hitler wanted to attack Poland through Hungary and Horthy didn't even let German troops to enter Hungary. Horthy also let Polish troops and important figures to escape to Hungary, and later helped them to go to Western Allied countries. And also during Warsaw Uprising, Hungary officially supported Poland by sending them supplies and weapons. Some Hungarian soldiers also stopped a German train carrying Polish Jews heading to concentration camps. There were also some firefights between Hungarian and SS units in Poland because the Hungarians were angered when the SS mistreated Polish civilians and POWs. Several Hungarian soldiers also joined the Polish resistance. Not to mention those Hungarian soldiers who were executed by the SS when they were caught helping the Poles. Hungary was one of Poland's best allies during WW2.
To all those who think Horthy was a Hungarian version of Hitler, he was not. In fact, Horthy stopped the deportation of Jews from Hungary for as long as he held power until 1944. Also, he didn't allow Hitler to invade Poland through Hungary and helped many Polish soldiers escape through Hungary and fight on for the Allies. He had to guide a battered and weakened Hungary through a World War with Nazi Germany to Hungary's west and the USSR to Hungary's east; he knew he had to side with one of them to avoid complete destruction. Regent Horthy and his vice regent son were pro English and pro Western, but seeing how little they helped Poland when it was invaded, it was obviously not a good idea to follow Poland's fate. Horthy made Hungary leave the war and organised a ceasefire with the Allies, but a Nazi SS controlled coup revoked this almost instantly and had Horthy's son kidnapped and Horthy arrested; thus Hungary had to fight on for the Axis. Horthy did what he could in a difficult situation but was by no means a fascist, a Nazi, or Hitler's friend.

Also the funny thing is that the most detailed work on Finno Ugric ever published came from a Hungarian, Sámuel Gyarmathi, in 1799. A similar thing was done and published in 1770 by another Hungarian linguist, János Sajnovics, who had travelled to Northern Europe to observe and study the Sami language(s) and argued for a relationship between the two through many grammatical similarities in his published work. I saw many croatians on the internet who have brought up the possibility of a second hungarian-croation union and I have some ideas about this, considering it's possibility in the future (in case of wars in the region, it would be practical). Well of course we don't want a personal union but rather a coalition government, a joint parliament would be good for that, of course we would also imply a joint army with regular joint exercises and operations, in most of the state institutions (schools, national offices etc.) people would be taught each others language (croation to hungarians, hungarian to croations). I think it would be very profitable for both of our countries, both economically and militarily, considering that in the future, the possibility of a weakened NATO can be very dangerous for our countries in central/eastern Europe, so that would be it. My Great Uncle served under Horthy. He says that the only thing he hated about his life during the war was when the Germans coup'd the old government and forced him to round up Jews near the Hungarian Romanian border of the time. If he disobeyed or defected, all the checkpoints were armed and he would've been shot.

Serbia annexes only Kingdom of Croatia - Slavonia, 4. Czechoslovakia annexes Slovakia, without southern, inhabited mainly by Hungarians part (and without Zakarpattia obviously). 5. Germans in Western Banat and Western Hungary receive the rights to cultivate their culture and language, but they have to stay loyal to Budapest, 6. Poland receives northern Spisz and northern Orawa, inhabited in majority by Poles. 7. Kingdom of Hungary is restored, with IV. Károly as a king. 8. Kingdom of Hungary officialy recognizes independence of Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. No other punishments should face Hungary. Change my mind

As a Slovak, I find myself with a certain admiration for Horthy; our political views align in many ways. Ultimately, his goal was to reunite the majority of Hungarians living outside Hungary's borders, bringing them back into the fold. If Slovakia were partitioned and large numbers of Slovaks found themselves outside its borders, I would feel the same desire to bring them back. And, admittedly, there's something bold-and even a bit admirable-about maintaining the title of Admiral, even after losing a national coastline.

5. Germans in Western Banat and Western Hungary receive the rights to cultivate their culture and language, but they have to stay loyal to Budapest,
6. Poland receives northern Spisz and northern Orawa, inhabited in majority by Poles.
7. Kingdom of Hungary is restored, with IV. Károly as a king.
8. Kingdom of Hungary officialy recognizes independence of Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

As a Slovak, I find myself with a certain admiration for Horthy; our political views align in many ways. Ultimately, his goal was to reunite the majority of Hungarians living outside Hungary's borders, bringing them back into the fold. If Slovakia were partitioned and large numbers of Slovaks found themselves outside its borders, I would feel the same desire to bring them back. And, admittedly, there's something bold-and even a bit admirable-about maintaining the title of Admiral, even after losing a national coastline.
