how did you manage to play this at all in sixth grade? i played it in seventh and majorly struggled as a second trumpet, and i was in honors band at a school who was known in the area for its band, it was a small ish school in south texas if you want to find it, i've switched since then but still.
I just got this song and I’m on snare, but there are some new girls on snare who are still learning so it’s kind of a mess rn :/ I’m excited to hear it come together
A local 'rival marching band' did this song on the field, and it was absolutely amazing. We were lined up to march out and I was just in disbelief watching it. Absolutely amazing. The Everett HS marching band has talent like no other! Even as our 'rivals', they have all of my respect.
I always remembered this part, and after learning more about music and music theory, I discovered that the trumpets played a #9 on the C chord. I always wondered why that part was so crunchy and cool
@@gwolft6996 yea same for me too, my director did a thing where the 7th graders get to play 1st part and the 8th graders have to play 2nd, and I'm 1st chair so F in the chat for me lol
Yeeeas it’s actually not for second graders it’s for middle school kids. The grade 2 means rank 2 which is what most middle schools play at elementary is at 1-1.5 and high school is at 3-4
This is such a nostalgic song, and I've never played it and this is my first time listening to it. It just gives me like 2000's marching band show vibes and just hits different for some reason. Good song!
I'm in 8th grade and my teacher is having us practice this. We're probably playing this for winter concert or just to practice and get our skill up some more cause my teacher wants us to play a high leveled piece for a festival and thinks we're capable of it.
Band director said it was a latin march.(me, a horn player) yay, upbeats. Boy, I was not expecting this. Probably the most fun concert piece I have ever played.
This was our competition opener way back in 1984. Go marching Wildcats!! ❤ I was Guard Captain and I still remember our routine. I love those Spanish themed songs!

i like to think that rather than being able to he heard, your more about giving the song the subtle texture it needs. its like garlic to a stir fry, u cant tell but its there and its making a difference!... i think? i mean i cant say much since im a 1st trumpet...

Mrs. Troyanno, if you're reading this, this song was too hard for us in the sixth grade.
Signed,
A particularly bad French horn player ; )
I'm in 8th and my teacher told us she was gonna get rid of it after the first day...
I’m a ninth grader and I’m suffering through trumpet one
