I’m upset that the guy didn’t model for the rectal thermometer reading. He was fully participating until she mentioned rectal temp then he disappeared and didn’t come back
My colleague calls the temporal artery thermometer the "random number generator" 😂!!!! We've found it to be very inconsistent. There are also temperature probing bladder catheters that give a good core temperature. The only time I've seen the glass thermometer highly used was in underdeveloped countries. Then soaked in disinfectant. Well done Sarah! - Nurse Stefan💕
hi sarah, please discuss more leadership, management and legalities thank you so much, love watching your videos. RN Here from the Philippines, will be taking NCLEX soon.
Hi Sarah, absolutely love your videos. Can you make a video on hemodynamics monitoring with shocks and stage of shocks. Your video always help me solidify and understand the lecture much better. Thank you.
Hi! Freshman nursing student here. In our country, we don't recommend the use of glass thermometers (the one with the mercury) because you are right- it may break and further cause harm to the patient. Digital thermometers are better to use! :)
Thank you, I thought with the glass one it was used similar to the old mercury thermometer. Bought a glass one as a back up for this Covid 19, I usually use the battery thermometer :-).
Hello, Melissa. The purpose of pulling the ear down and back is to straighten the ear canal so that you can get the most accurate reading possible. This age range is not set in stone, and some sources will recommend to pull down and back vs up and back at different ages. However, 12 months or less is the most common protocol, based on several sources. Nevertheless, we always recommend you follow the protocols of your healthcare facility or state. This RN is extremely beautiful and I would let her take my temperature. The fella looks pretty nervous. Like he knows how the last way she's gonna take his temp. (or how she started).
I am here because of the corona virus. I'm wanting to know why so many places use the infrared thermometers on peoples' foreheads when it is so dangerous to the pineal gland. I'm just a lay person wanting to learn.
I am afraid of temporal thermometers. A dentist used one to check my tempature last week, and I saw a red light come on. I am not comfortable with haveing a laser beam pointed near my eyes.

Hi. I thought it was for patients 3 years or younger that you pull down and back.
