- London Chinatown is an amazing ethnic enclave located in the heart of the city next to Soho and Theatreland. There are numerous restaurants, bakeries, stores, supermarkets, and other Chinese run businesses in the area. Chinatown received a lot of immigration from Hong Kong, and many of them relocated in this area after the Second World War. Today, Chinatown is a popular tourist destination and colorful lanterns hang from the street.

take out u.s term/take away uk term. London Chinatown I need to visit. I missed the Chinatown buffet restaurants here in NYC. The most cheapest lunch that I brought years back.
I think this is the best Chinatown in the Western world, simply because of the nice atmosphere, quality of restaurants, decor, and most importantly because it is pedestrian only and creates a more comfortable vibe.
I really like that it is so pedestrian friendly

They should get that guitar busker out of Chinatown. First of all, he's just awful and secondly having some guy performing Western "Music" in Chinatown ruins the atmosphere.

I love the Chinatown Gate and hanging red lanterns! 🏮London's Chinatown is pretty spacious, and I like that it's open for only pedestrians daily for a specific timeframe. 19:08 I wonder if that guy got the custard bun! You could have avoided the exploding mess during your review if you've seen it happen to other people. 😂 It was neat to see many Hong Kong inspired eateries, and there's no shortage of yummy foods here. 😋 Thank you so much for sharing this informative and relaxing stroll, AK! 🤗

Regarding the minimum charge with card's in restaurants most of the time you'll be paying over the minimum charge.
I eat at a different restaurant there every year when I go back, and fun to see it in the daytime as I'm usually only there on a Tues night...

I hit the Chinatown bakery by the gate for some goodies. And we ate a San Chu dim sum. Really good!!!

I thought the area was nice, and a place I would definitely look forward to checking out. AK didn't seem impressed. By touristy does he mean expensive? Will we see other Chinatown areas in London or elsewhere in England that he considers more authentic?

Notice that the businesses at the end of a "T" intersection at 2:02 (O'Neills) and at 10:24 (SilverTime) are not Chinese because it is considered bad Feng Shui to have your house/business at the end of a "T" intersection. SilverTime remedies this problem by a monument in front.
