  • 2011 sienna having noises coming from the steering wheel. The utility and accessories button on the steering wheel command station wouldn't work at all and the vehicle horn was not producing any noises. Also the Srs-air bag light came on on the dashboard. I concluded that the clock-spring was the culprit due to the non-functioning of the horn, clicking steering, accessories button working incorrectly and Srs-air bag light on. The puller tool was purchased from harbor freight and also the thread lock fluid. Caution on performing this service on your vehicle and as doing so you are responsible for your own risk. Good luck.

    My 2015 had spring clips holding the airbag on but other than that the video was spot on for getting it fixed and changed horn buttons and cruise all work great now! Thanks for the video. 🎉

    Before replacing the sensor, what errors were illuminated on the dashboard? And what is the error code?

      I had a "srs warning light", I forgot the code. But what happened to my steering wheel was that it clicks when turning left/right but more on the left side. The horn would not make a sound, and the master warning light kept flashing.. after a research online with similar sienna owners, I concluded that it was my cloak spring or my air bag. I usually fix the cheapest things first before fixing anything expensive. The clock spring is very budget friendly compared to the air bag. So I replaced the clock spring 1st. If u replace the clock spring and the horn doesn't work after the replacment, then more likely it's your air bag. If u turn your steering wheel with no ticking/clicking noises, then more likely, it's your air bag. If it ticks/clicks while turning your steering wheel AND the airbag doesn't beep, then it's your cloak spring. Any other issue you'll have to ask your mechanic. I'm no master mechanic, just a diy guy. Do it @ your own risk. This is no advice it's just my blabbing. Lol. Good luck. Have fun.

      I would rather you purchase new parts through your toyota dealer or "maybe" Amazon. Amazon has a very cheap price, too. Good luck. 👍

      Just your standard hooks and picks tool set.. you can get it from any auto parts or Amazon. Type in the search engine on Amazon and you'll find ton of hook&pick tool set for under $10.. any hook&pick set will do.

    Did you have to recalibrate the steering angle sensor after installing this?

    • @kimzengly
      @kimzengly  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Just mark your steering nut so it can be put back into its original position

      No, not necessarily. No need for recalibration of the steering wheel.
