The improved, integrated scriptures of 1980 had a direct impact on our understanding of the Book of Mormon, just in time for the call of Ezra Taft Benson to emphasize our study of the Book of Mormon. His teaching directly increased our drawing on the power of the Book of Mormon as a dynamo that unifies and ENERGIZES the Old and New Testaments. The Book of Moses and Book of Abraham reframe the origins of the Old Testament as a testament of Jesus Christ.
The recognition of this definition of the Gospel only began with the improved indexing of the edition in 1979-1980 and the unification with the new LDS edition of the Bible and cross references. In 1970 I was a missionary in Japan, and Bruce R. McConkie was a Seventy and supervusing Japan. In a meeting with us missionaries he was asked how to define the Gospel and he did not refer to this passage. It was simply not cited in the index of the Book of Mormon in 1970. I came across it in my own reading, and made a narginal note, but it was not footnoted or indexed at the time. I believe Elder McConkie was involved in improving these tools for the unified LDS scriptures.
My thought is Regarding the instruction of Jesus to the answer His apostles question about name of church. Lynn talks about all the good Christian neighbors. Then she wants you to discuss how the Lord instructed His disciples. Was something skipped over? Authority. Are we afraid to discuss authority and knowledge? Or would that have lead to another topic for another time? Authority and further light and knowledge is what sets “us” apart from all the other truly good people in the world. What do you think? Is that a topic for another time?
Can you tell me the difference between the gospel and the doctrine again or tell me where to find it. I've heard you refer to it twice in this episode and I'm a little confused. Please and thank you.
The Holy Ghost is a NETWORK of holy angels capable of administering exactly what is needed under His leadership. That's how I find His office to be logically administered to. Miriads of angels have proven themselves capable of doing things exactly like He and Jesus does them under the name of Jesus Christ.
I've looked for your reference on the book 3 Neviphi in the archives and can't find it. Would you specifically tell us how to do that. And I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to see the answer to this question
