23:06 Absolutely stunning property! IMHO you need to walk while taking the video and show the things he is talking about, instead of just watching you standing on one place and hear him talking about the rest of the garden, the video needs a better structure, just found your channel and the places you have shown us are just beautiful, the sound is a little off sometimes, just keep working on structure and sound also on editing. Beautiful channel, beautiful places, can’t wait to see the next garden tour!
Your videographer needs to show what Doug is talking about. A lot of the time the focus is on the gardener and hosts instead of what they are talking about. A lovely yard though! I get lots of inspiration from watching.
The garden is beautiful so thanks for inviting us along. As you continue your work, please keep in mind that gardeners watching are extremely interested in the specific plant being discussed, so some b-role of the varieties would have helped. Keep doing what you do! I'm glad I found your video ❤
This couple has great style - I love how Doug's outdoor aesthetic aligns so beautifully with Kathy's indoor design. They seem like a great pair! And that 150 year old tree is killer! I appreciated learning how he takes care of it and seeing how he admires it.
Love the layers of hedges in front , with the mature trees. I love shade so this is so beautiful to me. I would love to learn succession planting for color throughout the year. That red oak tree is pure magic. I could build a home and garden just around that tree! I agree this is one of the best garden tours ever! The many gorgeous roof lines in white, against all those green trees is stunning! All the seating areas, the knot gardens, the potted plants... just stunning! Thank you so much Mr McCabe.
Oh my, I want to come and live in this garden and in this home for a week. It's so beautiful and inviting! Thank you so much to the McCabes for sharing their spaces and to you both for taking us to them❤
Beautiful garden!❤ With the different clips it was hard to piece the garden together. Also, front garden part is missing to the front door. Maybe next time.
@@mp-bm8yl I really appreciate the comment! You’re so kind. I think people forget we’re not a big production but maybe one day 😋 normally when a video gets lots of views we get lots of feedback and that’s okay! Thank you so much for making my day!
Such a beautiful house and delightful gardens. I adore spaces outside that are like little rooms. Which you find as you wander around the garden. The ‘stone mushrooms’ are called ‘Staddle Stones’ and were used to raise grain stores and larders off the ground to prevent vermin and water damage. I have one in here in my garden which was a wedding gift and has a brass sun dial on the top. Sheena (uk) xx
Beautiful…and English-esq. Soil type will also determine how often you need to fertilize. We have sandy loam soil, and it drains excellently but nutrients leach out quickly. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. 😉
One of my favorite quotes from a master gardener -- Doug McCabe -- : (context, I'm 71, my mother's 93, she lived with me ages 90, 91, 92, now 5 min away with my sister + her husband): "These trees are like old people, ya hafta look after 'em, feed 'em, get 'em their vitamins ..." and so on. The huge-calipered Red Oak, big, old, lovely tree. McKinney, Texas; Kathy McCabe, Doug McCabe. USDA gardening zone: 8a (10°F to 15°F) and 8b (15°F to 20°F). [the exact same zone I reside in -- now, I have no excuses]
Beautiful and well maintained garden. My favorite rose is Climbing Pinkie for a trellis. It's a repeat bloomer that puts on a show from Spring-early December. They're especially beautiful if you train them to grow horizontally. And Blush Drift Roses, also a repeat bloomer, to create a large area of ground cover. I have a fern that my grandfather planted in the 80's and it's still going strong. I put them in the garage to winter also and do have to split it every 3 years or so but that just means more ferns!
It’s amazing to me how many people have amazing trees and lose them because they never trim them, he is a role model for how to keep your historical trees ❤. I have a large beautiful maple, and bought the home last year and it hadn’t been trimmed in years, someone had topped it at some point 🤦🏻♀️ hire an arborist and care for your trees
This is my favorite of all your videos! Let’s see more please! Additionally, I have a quick suggestion: Often you interview the owners while standing in one room for a long time! Would you consider sitting to discuss the various rooms. You all look uncomfortable!
That red oak is magnificent! P Allen Smith has his largest oak trees protected from lightning with cables. I was looking, but did not see one...something to consider
I’m not finding the links to Doug or Kathy’s businesses. Are you planning on adding them? Beautiful gardens and home. I would have loved to see the plants that Doug was speaking of at the time he was referring to them. ❤❤❤
I know your focus is on Farmhouse, however, it would have been nice from a gardening standpoint to see the particular plants Doug was talking about instead of seeing him talk. Some plants were shown but others were not. 😕
Peggy Martin Roses are referred to as Katrina Roses in MS. They survived Hurricane Katrina. Mine is blooming for the second time, Spring and now Summer.
Do you know if Doug has the Pamela Crawford basket column kit for small pots (1" tubing) or large pots (2") tubing? I love those potted arrangements at the entrance, and would love to recreate the look! Thanks!
Hey! With all the rain we had in the spring we had to take FOUR MONTHS off because contractors kept getting stuck in the dirt road. Believe it or not we never had seven dry days until recently when they put in the road so now we’re back to work! We’ll share an update soon. It’s going to be amazing!
Annoying that they talked about the miss figgy tree but never showed it. Did not show enough pictures of the garden but too many shots with them standing around talking.
Absolutely beautiful. ❤ What’s the name of the small boxwoods around the fountain? Plus, can you please tell me what you use in the bottom of big planters? Do you only use dirt? I’m having terrible luck with my large planters. Thank you in advance

Doug needs his own TH-cam channel so we can visit his garden every week!
I agree the camera person needs to focus on what Mr. McCabe is speaking of not just looking at the people
@@michelesmith9750agreed I had to stop watching because barely show his work mostly on them talking
I would have liked to toee more of a tour of the garden as the conversation was going on. The garden was gorgeous as what i could see
Beautiful garden. Wish we could have seen the plants he was talking about as he was describing them.
Your videographer needs to show what Doug is talking about. A lot of the time the focus is on the gardener and hosts instead of what they are talking about. A lovely yard though! I get lots of inspiration from watching.
I agree
Agreed I would like to see more of the landscape

I wish you walk around as he describes his plants.
Need to see what he is talking about.. we know what the Pelops like already, so show us the plants and containers etc
Congrats on your Anniversary.
For the married and unmarried becoming one is a life long journey ❤
Love everything about this garden. I’d be out there every morning with my coffee too if it was mine
So beautiful. Their yard and bedroom feel like a resort!
Always an exciting time when “Farmhouse Living “ puts out a new video.
What a beautiful garden!!’ I feel inspired ❤
What a beautiful property. The big tree in the center, what a statement.
Absolutely beautiful, thank you for taking us along . 😍

Beautiful garden!❤ With the different clips it was hard to piece the garden together. Also, front garden part is missing to the front door. Maybe next time.

Thank you for sharing. I was wondering about those. :)
What an absolutely gorgeous garden and home!
Beautiful garden and such a beautiful house.
Deb here. I can relate to this couple. Most of the outside decisions I make same as inside. Husband does the mowing and the tough work in the yard.
Would love to see a video that shows his garden in each season as he mentioned that he planned it to look good all year round
Such an amazing garden.

Love this house & yard
Their gardening style is so peaceful. And maybe that is because of the structure of having trees. Everything has a roof.
Wow so beautiful!!

Where are the links to the McCabes' accounts?
Same comment I was going to post.😊 I'm not finding him under "Doug McCabe."
How do you protect your outside furniture from the weather.

Can you tell us the link for the house tour please? Hugs from Australia ☺️🙏🏼🍷
Do you know if Doug has the Pamela Crawford basket column kit for small pots (1" tubing) or large pots (2") tubing? I love those potted arrangements at the entrance, and would love to recreate the look! Thanks!
Love this tour, but have you finished the cabin you started 5 months or do. Tfs cheers

I found the group talking over each other annoying. Stunning property, though.

If they move the fountain here and there do they have to keep tearing up areas for electricity?
Absolutely beautiful. ❤

I’ll ask Doug and report back!
Can’t believe he isn’t growing any pachysandra😮
💚
what color gray is the fireplace brick?
💚💚💚
Yes, beautiful garden- it would nice to be able to see it -instead of you guys talking about it.
where are the links
Is this McKinney, FL?
Texas
Their home color is pretty against all the gardens! Do you know what paint color the house is?
