Great presentation there, loved it. As a canuck I really appreciate that you did a Canadian action. As we poor suffering colonials know, the western front is a little Anglo centric at times, but we still love our mother country. This scenario shows why the Canadians were starting to be considered the storm troopers of the empire. Thanks for putting a link up to your rooster sheets, very helpful. Also I was wondering where I could find the WW I/Chain of Command hybrid rules. Thanks, keep on rolling 6's.

Glad you enjoyed it. Cocking up the Mud and the Blood is in the 2014 Lardy Christmas Special.
TBH though I'd say the Canadians are very well represented on the Western Front, the Vimy Ridge memorial park and the Beaumont Hamel park for example, both of which you'd be forgiven for thinking there were no other soldiers apart from the Canadian Corps involved, according to their visitor centres. Tim Cook has done tons of work on the CEF and brought them to the forefront for the last few decades.
Also, as for being the storm troopers of Empire, I'm afraid that's very misleading, they were only using the same tactics as the rest of the BEF (training pamphlet SS143) and as Peter Simpkins demonstrated, the 'purely' British units of the BEF performed as well as the CEF, if not better, however, it is the units of the BEF that have been relatively understudied. There are a number of reasons for the perceived success of the CEF and that is they retained the square formation long after the BEF went to triangle formations, therefore having more men in their units and more hitting power, and were victims of their own success by being put back in the line after a successful operation. Much like the Australians.

As a Canadian, I approve this result. It does seem a trifle odd, even unfair that in Big CoC, the entire side gets another phase of either of the platoons rolls a pair of sixes (if I'm getting that right).
Loved watching the game! Great fun!

Top stuff Alex... even in miniature it show how effective the development of the previous 3 years has been in tactics.

Excellent game, Alex .. I'm wondering if you have done this in Mud and Blood. I'd be interested to see how it plays differently

Cheers John. As a matter of fact, I'll be playing this exact scenario at the Steel Warriors show on Saturday using Mud and Blood. I'll post pictures after the event and in the next hobby update videos.
