I’m in Alaska got my 11 and 9 year old a 93 safari… they rip it around quite a bit but it seems to be barely getting power… I just pulled it in the garage and gonna do a carb clean after watching your videos… I need a break light and a windshield and a seat… but they are a fun little sled for sure!
most likely if its losing power its fuel / carb issue. could be fuel pump weak too. let me know how it works out for you! and yes they are nice little machines for sure. I plan on hauling wood when i get the chance with it ( assuming we get snow this year haha! )
Thank you! I am battling with one of these, a '94, a bit rough...I've yet to know if it'll run. Very helpful watching this video. Mine starts ok, idles ok, but won't take throttle, it winds up half way, then bogs down, and either stalls, or barely sputters on back to idle...I usually have to crank it 3-4 times to get it going to a steady idle again...I'll re-open the carbs and clean extra thoroughly, I'll check fuel like you did, see if the pump is dead...and go from there. I haven't checked compression, but it starts quite well, so I think its either a carb or fuel problem.
Newbee to your channel. Just dragged down a 82 Citation sitting under a tarp for a few yrs. no start, won't pull over. It's been a mouse motel for some time. This engine is a beast to work on buried down in the body panels with no access covers to remove. Picking up a engine hoist this weekend to haul engine out and see what's what.
that is sweet! and thanks for swinging by i got a few more upcoming projects for the sleds. 377's are good engines. let me know how you make out with the project
@@muddythumper8152 Kinda hoping the starter was stuck like yours, no such luck, haha. Dealing nasty weather here right now, so working in the shop is awesome. What part of the "Rock" are ya. Spent 6 weeks down in Marystown shipyard few years back. Four seasons in a day. Loved it.
@@happyrecluse2849 if yours is seized take the plugs out and fill it up with marvel mystery oil or something similar and let it sit for a few days, rings could be stuck on it. And nice, i am from st johns! Weather here isnt good so far.. still no snow yet
@@muddythumper8152 Thanks for the tip, sprayed some PB Blaster down inside couple of days ago. Have n't touched it since. Been disconnecting stuff, wiring, muffler and getting hood off to get hoist in. Got a 86 Harley Sportster I was planning on rebuilding this winter also. It's all in pieces stored in boxes while I get frame and body parts painted. I did subscribe but been too busy to check out yer other vids. Lol Keep em comin. Later
nice!, hopefully we get some decent snow this year. I am a big fan of the long tracks the safari, i have one as well, picked it up for 40 bucks a year or two ago

Thanks, check compression , your issue sounds like a main jet problem or fuel air ratio screw. I’m on the east coast if you need some help - cheers

Got the same sled reliable as anything. Keep it up like seeing local bhys making videos. Would also love to see more content on this sled
More videos coming soon , thanks. I am dealing with a back injury lately, hopefully back to the channel soon. We need some snow on the east coast!
They were good machines I remember when they came out my uncle had one and my cousin had the little brother to it the safari 377

What oil do you use i have and engine like that one but don't know what oil it used
just normal 2 stroke engine oil and mix it 50:1, throw it in the tank if you have the oil injection unhooked, premix the fuel
