- In this video I finally start my passion project. Which is to one day have one of the largest custom Space Wolves armies in the world!
It's also my first dip into an army for the Horus Heresy. A setting I've been reading about for years but never had the chance to play.. until now!

Dude I just started a small Stormcast project to practice for a larger space wolf project too. These sculpting techniques are exactly right. For a cheaper option, sculpting in super sculpy is way more affordable by bulk, easier to sculpt and just needs to be cooked for 15 mins before application. You could probably even make a few molds with it. Can’t wait to see this progress!

Completely agree with the Horus Heresy aesthetic (often) being cooler than 40k, in terms of minis at least. I'm putting together a bit of a similar project combining 3d printed parts (basically 1:1 with FW kits), resin characters, and new HH2.0 plastic. The end result should be a loyalist Thousand Sons army for 40k games, that definitely doesn't look like standard first born or primaris marines.
When it comes to Thousand Sons, you'd definitely need some help from a printer! Sounds like a good plan. Even though as a Wolves player I should be disgusted haha
@@JamsMiniMods I hear ya 😁 In case you weren't aware, in the recent HH campaign book Siege of Cthonia, one of the loyalist factions are a few thousand strong group of Thousand Sons who fled Prospero and never sided with chaos.
@tiberiumnp8030 I didn't know that. Thats pretty cool. I know there was that one loyalist 1k son that joined the white scars as well
I'm just getting started with 40k and I chose spacewolves as my faction because the lore was so appealing and I'm all for the space viking idea. Love this video man! Giving me a ton of ideas for the future

Good luck man. Horus Heresy is awesome and the Space Wolves are really cool. I actually started my own passion project in August last year. An entirely Firstborn Imperial Fists army. Currently at 14,000 points assembled and around a quarter of that painted. Look forward to seeing your progress bud.

These lads look really cool! My blood angels successor is very horus heresy inspired as well, with my plan being only using units with HH bits and only HH vehicles.

I'd definitely be interested in a full tutorial for this color scheme, especially for a vehicle! I'm painting my 40K Space Wolves army in almost the same color scheme, so I'm very curious how you'd paint a vehicle! Love your approach to Space Wolves (kitbashing) and the painting you've shown so far :)

If you really want unique, 3D kitbashing is the way. Already designed 30 independent grey slayers for heresy. Absolutely loving the flexibility and the fact I can true scale anything.
Printing will definitely give you better results. But right now I'm trying to challenge myself to sculpt more.
That's not kitbashing its just designing and 3d printing a custom model

Great video, just got up to the bit where you make the fur cape and your technique seems mental! It looks great but it must take ages to do? I've used some fur moulds/templates from greenstuff world and it's super quick and easy to do so I'd recommend doing that over your current way of doing things.
Thank you. It does take quite a bit of time. Yeah I've used the green stuff world texture plate for years. Made a video on it. It's an amazing tool to get fur done quick. But I'm always trying to improve my sculpting skills.

This might come as bit of an odd query; but what model of camera are you using to record the top-down and rotational view?
It's the Canon m100. It's decent for the price.
