Very good video and well explained. it has been a great help.
But I would like to know if it is possible to turn on the led lights only at night when it detects movement. I have the Dahua IPC-HFW2439S-SA-LED-S2 4MP Lite Full-color Fixed-focal Bullet Network Camera.

Agree, I'm looking at these. There should just be a sensor light function when it sees a person in a designated zone.

Hello, thank you for the timely video. Do you have a video on how to update the firmware on the Dahua cameras, and the SmartPSS software?

Thanks for this, it worked using this method. No IR on these which is a shame as I thought there was. On private property would be fine but on residential street these lights would be annoying.
Still see pretty good in dark without light on but does not bring up some details as sharp as IR would.

Can you set up the illuminator to turn on with the tripwire only? I don't like it turned on all night- can annoy the neighbours.

Nope, they’re bringing out the next generation to be able to do this. Shame they didn’t think of it for this model

@@Matdamwam really sad about this, do know if they will bring this feature with firmwareupdate?

@@b.7438 I have purchased the new ones (TIOC 2's) -- and you still can not use tripweire to trigger illuminator. Is a shame as all the hardware is inbuilt --- this would be a software enable feature and make cameras much more usable

@@georgec7622 on point, really illogical to me... All hardware is build in, this is a software issue.

This seems to be the only way to reach this illumination setting :( Any chance I can do that via the DMSS app or remotely using smart PSS?

Is it correct that this will not work if using the NVR switch? I assume you can't have the cameras on the same subnet as that NIC ??

Do they have IR built in and how does it look at night without the Illuminator??
