That's a "Koesister" and can best best described as a Cape Malay Doughnut. A "Koeksister" is something different, it's more of a plaited deep-fried doughnut that's soaked in syrup. 💖 🇿🇦
I love Woolies Prawn Cocktail chips. Had them since a kid and still love them. It's a required taste tho. One chip should try is by Simba Chip - Ghost Pops. Been around since the movie Ghost Busters 1st one was made back in the 80's
The Woolworths Prawn Chips was discontinued and brought back not too long ago. They were legit the best tasting chips, now the packaging is different and it tastes way too salty. The Flings are actually baked chips and usually given to kids as a snack here in SA 🇿🇦
A "koeksister" is twisted and it is covered in sweet syrup when you Bute into it its very sweet and oozes syrup It's one of my favourite snacks, you should try it❤❤

Hello, im from south africa. Koeksisters are actually a traditional sunday morning breakfast for many of us. We usually have it with tea/coffee. Also samoosas have various filling my families favourite is mince samoosas. There are also chicken samoosas and cheese samoosas. The cool thing about these snacks is depending on who makes it, it will taste different. I hope you enjoy staying here. So cool seeing u try these snacks. Much love.
Chocolate log acquired a skill when eating as used to peel off the chocolate before attacking the whole log🥰😋.I was devastated when theu discontinued it😫!

Biltong will always be there, together with Droë Wors (Dried Sausage). The partner of the Koeksister is the Chilli Bite and a variety of Creme Crackers and Salt Crackers, with a Topping of your choice, to put a cherry on top, include Chips and Dips.

Literally starting with two of my favourite things. I cannot say no to a samoosa and koeksister. When lockdown started i had to learn how to make koeksisters because the craving got so bad.
You should definitely try our kasi street food next time.. bunny chow aka KOTA or Sphatlo with all the good stuff (russian too), vetkoek and polony, pickled mango (atchar)diskopas, cool time or below zero, our popular lollipops (pin pop, stumbo, yogueta), apple munch, mayo yogurt😍🇿🇦 Edit : ouuu, I forgot to mention that you should try braai meat with all the good stuff too.. and the famous peanuts, raisins and romantics (eat those 3 together.. literally takes me back to my childhood) 😂I'll recommend you trying all of these with a lot of caution though (because of the calories) but I really hope you enjoy.💕
Kota is not the same as bunny chow. Kota is a quarter of a loaf of bread filled with chips, polony, atchaar, etc. Bunny chow is half of a loaf hallowed out and filled with a curry, mutton or beef usually.
