    Ah yea Will coming in hot with a new sponsorship 🤘I dig the iceco. I’m a simple guy that believes in simple things. Less shit to break. Gotta keep it simple stupid 👍
    Pro tip: when grocery shopping for your fridge, take your fridge baskets into the store and fill them up as you shop so you know what will fit and don’t buy too much

    You should't be replacing a "starting battery" with a "deep cell" as they have two distinct purposes! Your deep cell may not have the 'Cranking amps' you need if your battery is low and ESPECIALLY if you're in cold climates! You definitely need cranking amps for these conditions! Get a 2nd house battery (AGM) preferred, and put a relay between the two so they both get charged from alternator, but only house battery provides power to accessories.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far so good. Even cold. At 10.8v it struggled but started

      It will work I had one in my van, but it reduces the battery life, and deep cycle batteries aren't cheap...
      When the battery died I went back to good quality standard. Next time I might try a Yellow Top battery.

    • @mattl7647
      @mattl7647 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also believe they don’t do so well with the alternator charge. I had purchased a “deep cycle starting” battery which actually had comparable CCA to the starting battery it was replacing. It stopped holding a charge after 8 months and I was denied the warranty return. The battery also started to swell. My experience could have been chance, but make sure to monitor your battery if you do this.

    you will get voltage drop at the rear of your car. pending the length and gauge and even the type of wire used. but good for doing a volt meter.
    maybe install a second battery very close to your power ports. but wire in a one way diode to keep your car battery from killing the deep cycle.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive had great lick with the deep cycle single battery set up Im using since 2017. A dual battery would be cool I guess but Im on the move alot and haven’t needed any more power than the single battery provides.

    Hi thanks for the video. This may be a mute point now, but I thought my 2014 needed to have the power on in order for the rear outlets to work, but after reading the manual last night, there's a button on left side of the steering wheel in the dash that turns on the power. I assume so you don't have to have the car on but I didn't try that so I guess I should. Hehehe

    Very informative video! I just purchased a VL60 and the bag was a great selling point for my usages. I'm in Nevada and it gets pretty dang hot here so it will reside in the cab of the truck but the bag should help heaps. I'll say ICECO has done great things with the looks and how sturdy the unit feels.
    Your video was helpful in how to power the unit. I chose a portable solar batter from Ecoflow. Hope to get a few days off it !
    Could you please make a video on how you best pack the Vl60? It's not too deep so things won't get lost or forgotten. But utilizing the baskets is beside me so some pointers would be very helpful! Thank you!

I just received my keyline dual battery kit, to begin my build, waiting somewhat to save my lunch money for batteries, would like to start out using more evenly matched batteries, knowing it’s still up in the air, at least for me it is, on whether they should be matched or not. I have recently discovered that Amazon and conglomerate is running a giant scam with the compressor chest coolers. First off, almost ALL of the brands we think we know here in the U.S... (get ready for it) They're all Alpicool. In the real world, Almost ALL of those compressor chest coolers are valued at between $100-200 The reason we can't find a quality compressor chest cooler anymore is because Amazon is rotating all of their old stock around, trying to sell off their overpriced old junk before they buy any new stuff. You ready for the third shocking tidbit? We haven't seen a new Alpicool model (under any brand name) here in the U.S. for at least five years. You ever wonder why you can't find a category for these things? That's why.
    EDIT: 1 year later: Nothing has changed. Read the comments below and do your own research!

Nearly every single brand we know here is one that they make. ..and you can just order them yourself and add your own brand name. Says right there in black and white.
      Some of those models look close enough to even the Dometics, I'm not even sure that they don't make the Dometic with a different compressor and window dressing.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s not the same fridge!! The most important part about a fridge is the compressor IMO that said the Iceco has a secop (formally known as a danfoss) this is one of the most reliable compressor available. Mix that with the design and the 5yr warranty and 👌 you have a good product.

    • @Gruuvin1
      @Gruuvin1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SirWilliamGoes most fridges, with that compressor, warrantee the compressor for one year. The Setpower warrantees that new compressor for two years. If they can get the cost of a fridge down to $330 from $520, by using a different compressor, then I say its a great deal.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a 5yr warranty and I wouldn’t trust a fridge without at least a secop compressor I’ve had experience with 2 that didn’t and I wouldn’t go back. The only exception would be Engel or Dometic both of which use their own proprietary compressors

    • @Gruuvin1
      @Gruuvin1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SirWilliamGoes even still, many other manufacturers that use the secop warranty it only for a year. And sticking to only a single compressor mfg, and ruling out all others as crap, is not good for competition, especially at those huge price differences. I understand you are married to your brand, because you paid so much for it. We'll see how well this Setpower fridge does. Fingers crossed.

    Hi clueless in Texas. I bought a 2019 Ford Transit to convert. It has dual batteries and HD alternator. Are you saying I can tap into this 2nd battery to hardwire? I would love to do this and free up my Bluetooth for other things

    Do you have a video showing the install of the battery, the wiring back to your set up and how you did it?

      I don’t but its pretty str8 forward. Battery hooks up like normal. I ran a wire to a fuse then back to the back similar to the way you would wire an amplifier. I ran that to a 6slot fuse block I found on amazon. I cut the cigarette lighter end off fridge cord ran positive to positive on fuse block and negative to factory ground near taillight
