I have a similar launch tool to this and it saved me this morning when I got the '4a63 DDE: EWS Tampering' code, the car cranked over and over but wouldn't start. Figured out it could re-match the modules and the car fired right up. It does offline coding but gets all its power from OBD2 unlike this one which has its own power and charges up from the port. Compared to the price of a lot of other scan tools I cannot knock it! I would recommend it. Good review Dean👍
Mate i have been in the Trade for over 30 years. I Have approx 8 different scan tools and all but 1 of them charge the scan tool when plugged into the OBD11 Port. My GScan is over 10 years old and it has the charge function.

Thank you for the review. Pretty cool indeed. I have the LAUNCH 919X which I bought a little more than a year ago (August 2022). I find it quite useful and cool but my only problem with it so far is its inability to at least support the capacity of most AGM batteries available within the increment of 10 probably from 60Ah to 130Ah. My old battery was 90Ah that died recently and I replaced with a 100Ah capacity and then I found it difficult to register the exact capacity into the DME so the alternator could charge appropriately according to the rated capacity. Now all that LAUNCH 919X have available for AGMs are 70Ah, 90Ah and 105Ah. No 80Ah and no 100Ah, etc. I spoke with its customer service rep and he said he would have to advise his technical department to include more choices in the next software update. I hope they do. 😀
I just bought that model for my Astra and waiting for it to be delivered. £319, Half the price of the others. She's an old girl but still super reliable. I just rebuilt it for a new lease of life as a project and need loads of stuff relearning. Vauxhalls wanted near enough 3/4 of what the scanner tool is worth for just 4 relearns so I bit the bullet. My nephew and his Dad just bought BMW's so they'll be pleased I got this to look around and/or fine tune their cars. I'll charge them £20 a go for the privilege 😝
Topdon is my tool, and has lifetime free updates, no lead its bluetooth so dont have to sit around the car and its a tad quicker but... most of the tools are getting better and cheaper

I'm no expert, but I read/heard all electronic devices containing a lithium battery should be shipped with the battery discharged so there is no RISK of fire between the time the device leaves the factory until it reaches the consumer. I remember watching some youtube video about cargo ships disasters, and how a fire started from a charged lithium battery. In reviewing a product there should not be an issue if you need to wait for the battery to charge (6:06). Dealing with a fire is certainly more troublesome than you waiting 2 hours to have the battery charged. Otherwise it sounds ... unreasonable (?) . Then the accent on the icon for battery charging ... if it's that important for you ... (11:00). I've seen scan tools with greater functionality. Some have Android OS. This one seems to be just one application. Then you never used to right keys. It looks like they are not needed since you used exclusively the touch screen function. There was no direct comparison to another scanner of similar price. It seems to do what you need it to do, but in no way it seems to be superior to other well established brands.

Have you lost the ability to program tire pressure sensor id numbers into your vehicle computer with your scan tool? The one I bought allowed me to program in the id codes for 2 of my new tire pressure sensors on a 06 dodge grand caravan, but I didn't do all 4 at one time. After I finally changed the other tires, the reader wouldn't connect to the van any longer so I updated the software on the scanner. Now, it will no longer allow me to do anything but see the id numbers. Even then, I have to fight through various menus to get to that point.

I just need a superb scanner purposely for my 2009 BMW X5 E70 N52 vehicle that will enable me to do coding and programming. Service centers here in Bahrain just rip folks off especially on BMW series when it comes to all these electronic modules fault finding and resetting. I just spent an equivalent of US$380 to fix a new CAS module a few weeks, coding and programming and labor charge. 😀
10% discount code isn’t applied so therefore the price is incorrect with the 10% code it will be much cheaper. Also to add, it has 2 years free updates when purchased so no need to buy yearly updates for 2 years. After 2 years if you use this properly you can make your money back easy or it will save you more then that going to a garage for diagnostics and coding.
They'll still work just the same without the update and do all the same functions, none of that stops. Updates are for new technology or functions. But it doesn't stop or get any less weaker without the update.

The problem is it is quite expensive as it 2-in-1 scanner, 12V and 24V . She refused to give it any less than US$1590 and they don't make any of it as 12V alone.
Currently £468 on Amazon, plus yearly update fee after 2 years
10% discount code isn’t applied so therefore the price is incorrect with the 10% code it will be much cheaper. Also to add, it has 2 years free updates when purchased so no need to buy yearly updates for 2 years. After 2 years if you use this properly you can make your money back easy or it will save you more then that going to a garage for diagnostics and coding.
I bought it yesterday on Aliexpress for $333
@@mcplutt Brilliant! 😀
$100 a year for updates?? That's a pass from me.
2 years free though don’t forget that. And $100 a year is still cheaper then most others
That’s actually is cheap!!!❤❤❤❤
@@BMWDoctor I believe the Foxwell scanners come with lifetime updates, this one is cheaper though, I'll give them that.
Why would it need updates?
They'll still work just the same without the update and do all the same functions, none of that stops.
Updates are for new technology or functions.
But it doesn't stop or get any less weaker without the update.
What is the difrence with LAUNCH X431 CRP919X vs X431 CRP919E?
The X431 CRP919X first date available was 19 August 2022 whereas X431 CRP919E first date available 01 August 2022. The 919X is the upgraded version of 919E and 909X think much cheaper on ebay or autelscanner
@@mattdigong5654 Quite true. I bought my 919X on August 16, 2022 a few weeks after 919E was introduced. Basically they are both the same. May be different by one or two features, but the guy I bought it from said they are pretty much the same.
I don’t think so this is good function of charging while is plug in in car drains car battery whats the point of charging function if this tool cannot programing it’s just drains battery 😅
You have to use something like a CTEK CS ONE or any other brand voltage stabilizer that can keep you battery powered on to a constant 14V power supply otherwise you risk bricking you modules. Simple as that.
Currently unavailable says the store.....
I just clicked link and it’s perfectly working. Click the link in the top of my box
@@BMWDoctor probably because I'm in Sweden. Tried a UK postcode and then it was £468 and available 👍
Ah I see that’s probably why yeah did you use the 10% code ? Does it work
To be fair, not really a game changer there are a lot of scandals in that price range that charge from OBD port Don’t like the fact that Launch has given you a free scanner and you need to Big it up. do your homework before you make video
Sorry to have to tell you your acting like this is my first scanner I been sent. My dude I get sent ENOUGH scan tools believe me I have every single one and about another 10 videos to release of scan tools not even on TH-cam as of yet. If I was wanting to as you said “Big up” my this scanner sent to me, I would just do a video showing my whole collection of 230 scan tools I been sent. Stop chatting bare s**t just because you’re clearly jealous and can’t afford it yourself and only wish they would send you something. I get people like you all the time stop hating it’s pure jealousy, which can be seen in your comment. Oh and for your information they just sent me another 3 for review so stick around as you may enjoy seeing more :) I have the X431 yet to release go through my videos before coming up here talking s**t you don’t know.
looks oudated. the other guys have the same functions and touch screen. soo much scan tools on the market now.
There is absolutely nothing outdated about it. Own it and use it and you will know. 😀
