I was blown away by the quality of the sound. it even have a bass. I actually have onkyo surround system, but I was using it for a little bit before i hook up my system, but still I was very impressed!!!
Just bought this at best buy on saturday..it was the last one in stock and im so happy. Hooked it up to my xbox one X and all my games looks and play incredible. I think its worth it.
I went with this TV after having an old 4K HDR LG TV and it was the greatest decision i have made when it comes to TVs. I was looking at the Q7 but at the time i wasnt prepared to pay the £500 extra i think it was when i could just put that into getting a decent Sound bar.
Even playing the analogue super NT looks awesome on this tv. I’ve never had a tv with this good of contrast. There’s almost no light bleeding. A bright area won’t wash out the rest of the screen which is amazing.
I bought the 65 inch and Let me tell you. This TV is a Great All around Tv. It even upscales regular cable tv broadcast to 4K. Colors and Contrast is Excellent!! Samsung ain't playing!! LOL Love this TV.

Hey guys this model he is reviewing is a little different, it has a little more features than the q6fn, his model is a q65fn and it's about $300 more so if you buy a q6fn and something is not adding up, that's the reason, just to prove it go to 1:18 on the time bar and pause the video and look at his model #, the q6fn is still a nice tv though.

This is now at a bargain price at 699€. I just bought the Q9FN and returned it the following day. I hated the metal remote as it just creaked, the one connect box got super hot and I did not like the way the local dimming was handling the subtitles. You can get two of these for the price of the Q9FN plus a 100€ change. You get alot of TV for your money and its awesome for looks, gaming, Tizen UI. I might pick one before they disappear for gaming.

I checked out both the 75-inch NU8000 and the Q6 QLED at Best Buy. The colors are much more vibrant on the QLED. I didn't think they could improve much upon the NU8000 but after seeing both in person it settled it for me. If you're spending this much $ on a TV already you may as well spend the little extra money for that much better QLED quality. Especially on black levels it's very much noticeably improved. I went with the 75-inch QN75Q6FN and will be mainly using it for gaming primarily and movies 2nd.

That would be nice man, I dont have the x900f any more neither the Q7fn, but I can tell you that the Q6fn has amazing picture quality and better interface than the x900f, with that said the Q7fn should be brighter and with better colors.
You know what's crazy the 49 inch is going for 699.99 right now at best buy idc what size it is for this tv that's just ridiculous and the un800 is going for 599.99 if I can get the extra money up I will get the q6fn
I want to buy the 49inch q6fn but i found out that motion rate and the native refresh rate is less that the 55 inch. Does it make a big difference? Or should i buy the 49 inch sony x900f instead where there is no difference between the specs of the 49 and 55 inch?

Hey Joel I recently sent back the 55in TCL R617( I Paid $550 for it total) because of Vertical banding and they have not sent me back my replacement yet but I was wondering I just seen that they have the 49in Q6FN for $697 total on Newegg. Do you think it would be worth it to trade up to the Q6FN over the TCL. All i use my TV for is gaming on the X and the Pro. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)
So I bought the Costco version of the 55NU8000 (55NU800D) New for $957 total with tax. Came with 2 years Costco warranty plus 3 years 3rd party warranty (SquareTrade?) for a total of 5 years. Now I just recently found that Walmart has this tv 55Q6FN for $791 however, it's refurbished. 4 years of warranty (also SquareTrade?) is $99 and brings the total to $959 with tax. What should I do? Better refurbished tv with 1 less year of warranty or new tv that's a slight step down with an extra year of warranty? Both are basically the same price.
The two TV's are very similar with the q6fn only being marginally better. However, if I were you, I would buy the q6fn because it has a longer warranty. However, before buying it, I would read every word of that warranty agreement because the TV is being sold as refurbished. In a lot of cases, refurbished products are just items customers returned because they didn't like or need the product and wanted a refund. There is usually nothing wrong with the product itself.
@@chaunceystewart9960 Thanks for the reply. I actually ended up going with the Q65FN from Costco cause the prices dropped for the Super Bowl. Love it so far but been noticing some annoying clicking sounds coming from the back. Called customer support and all they did was read a paragraph talking about it being normal for sounds due to heat expansion/gas and that it's not something that would be looked at through the warranty. Picture looks great but the clicking sound is just something you have to get used to according to them. lol Probably going to return it.
Great review! Good to see some gaming footage on this set. I went with the Samsung 75-inch Q6FN to replace my 2016 Sony XBR65X750D. It's a world of difference in quality. The Sony was just underwhelming (awful black levels and brightness) compared to this awesome QLED.
cant decide if i should fork out the extra for a q8fn or just get a q6fn and wait for better local dimming for QLED a few years in the future and buy something big then. Is the q6fn bright enough? thats my main concern.
yeah the price dropped so ill probly get a 65inch version and wait for QLED to get better before investing in a full array backlit TV. I cant do OLED, i will burn it in without a doubt. They are beautiful but i hate burn in.
A week ago I bought the Samsung NU6950 at Costco for $399. After seeing the Q6F 49” at Best Buy yesterday on sale for $699, also the same price at Costco, my question for y’all is, is it worth spending the extra $300?? Or should I keep the 6950 and wait until the new models in April??
If anybody else is in the same boat.. Q6F is definitely better than the low tier Samsung models picture quality wise and smoothness of motion. But that's not to say the budget models are trash. If that's all you can afford, than go for it.

I'm gonna chime in here. Definitely the Samsung if you're a gamer. While the Sony TV may have good picture quality, so does the Samsung. You will deeply regret buying the Sony if you play any sort of online competitive gaming as the Sony TVs have horrible input lag. I know this through experience, I owned the 900E. Everybody said that you couldn't feel the difference between 20ms vs 31ms of input lag. Well you definitely can. I'm not a fan of Sony TVs at all after that experience. The picture quality wasn't a huge difference either. I did find the motion on the more expensive Sony TVs (900e, 900f) are very smooth.
Hey Joelster, got a question I just bought a Q6FN 55 inch cause of you're reviews! thanks for that amazing TV! But when I start playing on my PS4 pro it does load a couple of times pretty annoying (takes like 3/4 seconds), is you're TV doing that aswell? I have a feeling it changes from game mode to normal mode a couple of times but my TV is i think not on automatic modus..
@@JoelsterG4k When u switch between normal and game mode the TV needs to load right (loading circle taking about 3/4 seconds)? We'll mine does load a couple of times when I start up my TV in the first 5 minutes when playing on my playstation. auto gaming mode is off.
Just a heads up. Your mention of 120hz only available in 55in and up is incorrect. The difference is actually the 49 only goes to 120hz whereas the 55in and up go to 240hz. Just picked up the 49in on Black Friday and it’s been fantastic so far.

Black bars a black, this tv has amazing contrast, the sony x900f also has great black levels and also Dolby Vision so for movies I would go with the Sony, for everything else Samsung is my choice.

Donald Contreras this definitely helped me out with the clouding and was able to reduce it it is still there on very dark scenes but it is much less noticeable and looks way better. i did it to the entire screen because i noticed it is a panel uniformity issue and tried to straighten it out as much as i could i cant imagine how many people have no clue this can help cant thank you enough 👍👍
I have the Q6fn and i tested a Xbox one X on this Tv, but freesync not working good and Colors are very bad on Game Mode, i have a uncolored and dark picture by starting any game -.- looks terrible

The sony TV's have a very good processor which from what i remember (the x900f) has an x1 extreme processer. It is very good for upscaling. The x900f also had full-array local dimming and that why you might feel disappointed with the low end q6 which does not have full-array. Samsung's qleds have great color accuracy but unfortunately samsung had stupidly wrote off the q6 and q7 by using inferior edge-lit lighting in the 2018 line-up. I promise. Go to bb and grab a full-array backlit q8. It is the x900f with even deeper blacks and the color pop of qled tech.
So those higher end models are irrelevant to you. What brand do you want to look at? Just keep in mind to stay away from edge-lit regardless of brand. Your blacks will be lighter and you will have more blooming on dark backgrounds

After about a week of use now it does seem much less than before. My only other criticism is that on bright/uniform color screens you can see dimming around the edges of the TV. On a white screen it looks like grey but it's only near the edges.

IMO yes, Quantum Dot does improve the picture quality and contrast, colors look more vibrant and black levels are much much better.

So I bought the Costco version of the 55NU8000 (55NU800D) New for $957 total with tax. Came with 2 years Costco warranty plus 3 years 3rd party warranty (SquareTrade?) for a total of 5 years.
Now I just recently found that Walmart has this tv 55Q6FN for $791 however, it's refurbished. 4 years of warranty (also SquareTrade?) is $99 and brings the total to $959 with tax.
What should I do? Better refurbished tv with 1 less year of warranty or new tv that's a slight step down with an extra year of warranty? Both are basically the same price.
The two TV's are very similar with the q6fn only being marginally better. However, if I were you, I would buy the q6fn because it has a longer warranty. However, before buying it, I would read every word of that warranty agreement because the TV is being sold as refurbished. In a lot of cases, refurbished products are just items customers returned because they didn't like or need the product and wanted a refund. There is usually nothing wrong with the product itself.
@@chaunceystewart9960 Thanks for the reply. I actually ended up going with the Q65FN from Costco cause the prices dropped for the Super Bowl. Love it so far but been noticing some annoying clicking sounds coming from the back. Called customer support and all they did was read a paragraph talking about it being normal for sounds due to heat expansion/gas and that it's not something that would be looked at through the warranty. Picture looks great but the clicking sound is just something you have to get used to according to them. lol Probably going to return it.

Great review! Good to see some gaming footage on this set. I went with the Samsung 75-inch Q6FN to replace my 2016 Sony XBR65X750D. It's a world of difference in quality. The Sony was just underwhelming (awful black levels and brightness) compared to this awesome QLED.

cant decide if i should fork out the extra for a q8fn or just get a q6fn and wait for better local dimming for QLED a few years in the future and buy something big then. Is the q6fn bright enough? thats my main concern.
It is bright enough, it can reach 1000 nits, it has great color reproduction and very good contrast.
yeah the price dropped so ill probly get a 65inch version and wait for QLED to get better before investing in a full array backlit TV. I cant do OLED, i will burn it in without a doubt. They are beautiful but i hate burn in.
A week ago I bought the Samsung NU6950 at Costco for $399. After seeing the Q6F 49” at Best Buy yesterday on sale for $699, also the same price at Costco, my question for y’all is, is it worth spending the extra $300?? Or should I keep the 6950 and wait until the new models in April??
If anybody else is in the same boat.. Q6F is definitely better than the low tier Samsung models picture quality wise and smoothness of motion. But that's not to say the budget models are trash. If that's all you can afford, than go for it.

What's better for picture quality and colors for movies. Q6fn or lg sk9000 or Sony x900F ? Trying to decide a good tv to get around black Friday and dunno which is better out of those two or should I go for something else that is similar in price?
For movies I suggest the x900f, it has great picture quality and it also support Dolby Vision, for gaming the Samsung Qled line up are the best.

I'm gonna chime in here. Definitely the Samsung if you're a gamer. While the Sony TV may have good picture quality, so does the Samsung. You will deeply regret buying the Sony if you play any sort of online competitive gaming as the Sony TVs have horrible input lag. I know this through experience, I owned the 900E. Everybody said that you couldn't feel the difference between 20ms vs 31ms of input lag. Well you definitely can. I'm not a fan of Sony TVs at all after that experience. The picture quality wasn't a huge difference either. I did find the motion on the more expensive Sony TVs (900e, 900f) are very smooth.

Hey Joelster, got a question I just bought a Q6FN 55 inch cause of you're reviews! thanks for that amazing TV! But when I start playing on my PS4 pro it does load a couple of times pretty annoying (takes like 3/4 seconds), is you're TV doing that aswell? I have a feeling it changes from game mode to normal mode a couple of times but my TV is i think not on automatic modus..
I don't know what you mean, sometimes auto game mode causes to switch, you can turn it off or just have it on all the time on that port.
@@JoelsterG4k When u switch between normal and game mode the TV needs to load right (loading circle taking about 3/4 seconds)? We'll mine does load a couple of times when I start up my TV in the first 5 minutes when playing on my playstation. auto gaming mode is off.
Just a heads up. Your mention of 120hz only available in 55in and up is incorrect. The difference is actually the 49 only goes to 120hz whereas the 55in and up go to 240hz. Just picked up the 49in on Black Friday and it’s been fantastic so far.
The 120hz on the 49" is interpolated, the native hz is 60.

Black bars a black, this tv has amazing contrast, the sony x900f also has great black levels and also Dolby Vision so for movies I would go with the Sony, for everything else Samsung is my choice.

Mine has a white cloud on certain spots of the tv on dark scenes its kinda distracting does yours have this too??
Donald Contreras this definitely helped me out with the clouding and was able to reduce it it is still there on very dark scenes but it is much less noticeable and looks way better. i did it to the entire screen because i noticed it is a panel uniformity issue and tried to straighten it out as much as i could i cant imagine how many people have no clue this can help cant thank you enough 👍👍

The sony TV's have a very good processor which from what i remember (the x900f) has an x1 extreme processer. It is very good for upscaling. The x900f also had full-array local dimming and that why you might feel disappointed with the low end q6 which does not have full-array. Samsung's qleds have great color accuracy but unfortunately samsung had stupidly wrote off the q6 and q7 by using inferior edge-lit lighting in the 2018 line-up. I promise. Go to bb and grab a full-array backlit q8. It is the x900f with even deeper blacks and the color pop of qled tech.
So those higher end models are irrelevant to you. What brand do you want to look at? Just keep in mind to stay away from edge-lit regardless of brand. Your blacks will be lighter and you will have more blooming on dark backgrounds

The Q6F is from 2017 and Q6FN is 2018, it usually says in the box what year the tv is or in the back of the tv.

Well to me tvs from $1000 and up are more mid-range hehe but yes this tv has amazing picture quality.
Only problem is that the q6 and q7 are edge lit but q8 and q9 are full array. If you can afford it the q8 and q9 are definitely the best choice

All good. My hdmi cable was bad.
It makes popping noises for over 10 minutes when turned on and off. Samsung acknowledges this is parts expanding and contracting, not a flaw...
Mine doesn't do that any more, Im glad.
After about a week of use now it does seem much less than before. My only other criticism is that on bright/uniform color screens you can see dimming around the edges of the TV. On a white screen it looks like grey but it's only near the edges.
