TBH, I've never seen a game that could drain an entire emotion from Jon other than this one.
I didn't think anything was gonna top Dokapon Kingdom, then Mario Party DS came along and proved me otherwise.

Now, at 16:13 it's "Use a different spell, Kamek! For the love of God!"

This game has put Jon through *hex* and back, a true villain arc...
I haven't seen this level of unbridled rage from Jon since Dokapon Kingdom.
One of my favourite lines from this series is when Jon gets the Kamek Spell Space, gets warped, and then Daisy uses a Snag Bag to steal from Jon while he has 3 Halfway Dice Blocks.
“By all means! Take from my bountiful harvest!”
The fact that half of the countdown portion is solely dedicated to the number one spot (Jon’s sheer salt in the final board) shows how much this game just hated him.

I stand by the statement that MPDS is one of TRG’s best and most memorable to date.
It has one of the best #1s in their Mario Party LPs other than GAAAAAAME and Emile getting the hidden block
I think 2, 4, and 7 were better playthroughs (2 is a classic, 4 sweep was hilarious, and 7 was tense and even), but DS is up there for the humor alone. The rage compilation of Pinball Machine was peak
If Emile gets a clean sweep in a future game. We HAVE to make that number 1.
@smackjack: Jon didn't get a sweep in MP4 or 2. He came close in 4, but Emile took the last board.
You know what I mean. The desire to keep the sweep going in 4 was what made it funny (especially when Tim stepped up to help in Board 5)
@smackjack78 Keep in mind though, most of that was recorded on Jon's birthday whereas the last board was not. I would've loved to see a Jon sweep.
Jon saying "How?!" did not sabotage Emile because the mic didn't pick it up.

Let's be honest here. Anyone who's seen their entire LP knew exactly what the number 1 moment was going to be before even clicking the video. Still fun to watch regardless!

I actually feel very awful for ProtonJon. Cause of what he went through was a living hell filled with rage and just unlucky breaks.

The "Kamek" Star is my personal favorite moment from this playthrough, tied with Tim winning the final board. Jon's "Villain Arc" is fun, but also more nasty of how the game is deliberately targeting Jon. Kamek Star is just pure fun.

Watching all the swingy moments lined up in a row, it made me realize this game is definitely balanced around single player story, which are 10 turn boards instead of 20
I find it amusing Jon is the only one whom never landed on a Star Block, yet Emile, Tim, and EVEN the AI landed on it.
He also had one stolen from him.

Favorite game in the series right here. Salty Jon aside, this TRG collab was a lot of fun to watch, and it helped me get through a low point in my life. I can't thank them and Amber enough for that.

This definitely has been the most chaotic playthrough TRG has done. So much fun and yet, crazy wild events in it. Mario Party DS is a fun and wacky game for sure.
Through the trials and tribulations, we got one heck of a hectic and memorable LP. Can't wait for the next installment!

I'm calling it NOW. When they play Mario Party 9, Tim will win the most boards with Jon, and Emile will be the one to suffer with no boards won at all. Calling it NOW. EMILE VS MARIO PARTY 9. Jon can finally have some peace playing this game and laugh at Emile's constant failing! They could bring Josh Jepson to play it too.
To me, I hope to see Emile lose Mario Party 9, because of how much he talks badly about MP9 and from winning in DS, karma's going to hurt severely and that game will be the redemption arc for Jon. Tim will be the saint for it all.

@@AzureMoebius22 Technically, you’re not wrong about that. 10 definitely has similar issues with 9 but with the addition of Bowser Party, which pushed Emile over the edge. But in terms of how the Car in MP9 and 10 is detested, it would be those specific games that may make Emile regret disliking the games if he doesn’t change his mind about it and give it another chance.
I personally like Mario party 9,yeah the car thing is weird,but the mini games are pretty good
@@supermariogamer1757 The mini-games are awesome too, Jon would enjoy that because the Motion Controls have been toned down to a degree. But I will say, there are some stinker mini-games, though.
Remember when we all thought Mario Party 3 hated John, well… this game is a VERY different story

Jon dodging the star because of Emile's star steal hex, then getting a Star Pipe to snipe the star when it goes back to that spot, only to afterward land on the hex anyway will never NOT make me laugh.
Bowser's Pinball was definitely one of Jon's biggest rages and unforgiving Mario Party rounds.

I still stand by the fact that TheRunawayGuys > Party Crashers because TRG members are actually nice to each other and even when they troll each other, it's not that frquent and all in good fun compared to Party Crashers, who just act toxic 24/7.

@@zacharylandrum4789 That being said, I would like to see a Party Crasher star in a TRG LP, preferably Vernias. He's the least toxic of the four, and is pretty much an amalgam of all three Runaways - he's got ever-fluctuating luck like Emile, he complains a lot like Jon, and he's the most down-to-earth member of his team like Tim.

I would just like to thank Amber for this wonderful gift that we will treasure for many years to come. XD
I still can't believe how much this game screwed Jon over. The misinformation he got for DK's stone statue with the stars because Emile thought it worked like Faire square, The two stars he lost in one turn in Kamek's Library because he landed on a 1 star hex and got a hidden block which was a Ztar. I swear, it's like this specific Mario Party had some vendetta against Jon or something.
What does it say when Chugga refusing to buy a star because he autowins only lands at #7?
I want to say that the way you compiled this top 10 was better than I could've imagined (meant respectfully too because these are always fun to watch through). Especially the way you did the last two moments left room for much more than the simple moments I remembered by comparison. Adding in a lot of context and aftermath to those particular moments made them even stronger, I enjoy how it's multiple highlights in one moment. Thank you

This project truly felt like a classic Disney cartoon, with Chuggstone cruising along with his godly luck while Proton Don suffers and yells like a tortured soul in Hades. Meanwhile, Timethry is just doing his own thing and keeping up the good vibes. The McDuck cousins are truly an endless source of entertainment! I just hope this experience doesn't cause Don to go down the Negaduck route... I'd much rather he overcame the madness and fought for justice as the Proton Avenger!
I wonder which other cartoon TRG could mirror? Does anyone think they could be the Calamity Guys in Amphibia? Or maybe the Runaway Coven in The Owl House?

I've always noticed if it's the last/only Mario party on that console, Jon's luck craters even more. Well, if they choose to do 9 and 10 there may be more jon anger
This is the most soap opera LP Runaway Guys has ever done
So since watching this lp I have learn the reason why the ai was out to get Jon. See unlike other Mario Party games the ai where they target first place or will steal the best items which player is targeted depends on the number of players. So if there's 1 player character and 3 ai the ai will all target player 1, 2 players and 2 will target player 2, and 3 players with 1 ai like what trg had setup it will exclusively target player 3, and since Jon was player 3 then the ai was programmed to target him.
The worst part about Mario Party DS is that your dice rolls are pre determined before you even hit the block, just like in Mario Party 1.

Crossing my fingers Jon's luck isn't going to be a cop out number 1 or a compilation of his luck. I always find compilations are number 1 kind of cheating, even though i get why so the whole list isn't potentially dominated by one theme.

As fun of a ride that LP was, when/if they play through 9 and 10, I hope nothing gets them feeling too furious or enraged. It can be funny, but I know from experience that excessive anger from Mario Party (or really any game) can feel surprisingly defeating and bad for your well being. Hopefully Star Allies will be full of funny stuff with less of the BS sting that this game was full of.

It was painful and frustrating to watch this LP mainly for the fact that this drove Jon completely insane by the end of it and how it favored Emile so much. I get this made up for all the times Emile lost in the GameCube Mario Parties, but I just wish half of his wins wasn't handed to him on a golden platter. Plus the Ztars and star stealing hexes can go die.
My problem is that the Mario Party DS LP should've had a fourth player instead of the usual "The three of them and the AI", because the issue with the AI stealing could've been avoided.
DK's Stone Statue should've went to Jon instead of Emile because that wasn't even fair, and on top of that, they should have read the intro to said board instead of assuming that it follows a past board's ruleset, I.E. Faire's Square.
AGAIN!!!!! I do not take sides, I'm not favoring any of them because of popularity, and I certainly do not dislike Emile, understand I do like the channel and the content, just not all the LPs were grand slams since the pandemic hit.
Man, I've played Mario Party for decades and I can honestly say I've NEVER seen an ENTIRE GAME (no not just one board or play session, AN ENTIRE FREAKING GAME) of Mario Party be THIS hostile towards one single particular player before.
And I know that Wario's AI was programmed in a way to target player 3 in particular, but I still like to think that this game simply gained self awareness and decided to become AM from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, only replace his hate all of humanity with a hate for Jon and ONLY Jon
But considering that he won 3 Mario party in a row so I think it was Kama
