    Probably the best super deluxe coil service tutorial on TH-cam! Nice MacGyver action on the counter measure tool hack. Are you sure though after inflating the resi that large hiss wasn't the air escaping again? Iv had nothing but trouble from the red adapter on monarchs where it would allow air to escape before engaging the Schrader valve closed.

      Thanks, I’m glad it was helpful! I am also a little skeptical of the red adaptors so I always unscrew it from the shock by holding one end in each hand and twisting rapidly so it happens almost instantly. Could also go to 260psi if it gives you more peace of mind but I don’t think +-10psi (only ~4%)in that small chamber matters that much 👍🏽

    I'm a weekend warrior only ride my bike about 20 miles every week. If you can last till 10K miles on that shock than I don't think I need to service it soon or maybe don't have to service it at all. Anyway thanks for the video instruction, I can always come back here for reference if I need it. By the way what brand of TI coil are you using? Looks like you don't need adaptors for the TI coil to fix it to the Rockshox shock.

      I should have serviced it regularly but also wanted to see how far it would go without feeling bad, and I think it could have gone much further. Happy riding!

    Hi I am having a problem with my marzocchi coil rear shock . It is leaking oil . I haven’t use my bike for around 3 years . Is it normal . Should I replace it? Need help

    • @jleemtb5578
      @jleemtb5578  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not normal for any shock to leak oil. You probably just need a service kit as most likely a seal has failed inside. Installing it may require some speciality tools though. Im sure someone has done a guide online

    is it possible to remove the lower eyelet without full service etc? I have a 230x62.5 super deluxe with the 2.5 stroke reducer under the bumper and have been curious to try it at the full 65 stroke.

      You would need to do most of the steps to remove the eyelet because the oil sits right behind the attached piston. I suppose you could cut through that plastic base maybe with a dremel if you were really careful to not scratch anything. I wouldn't recommend this though. I’ve never seen the base available separately if you needed to go back. Good idea to check that your frame and tire clears with the extra travel also.

    Coil shocks require less frequent service right? I'm looking to get one soon.

    • @jleemtb5578
      @jleemtb5578  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rockshox recommends 50 hour service intervals for air shocks’ spring seals which are not necessary on a coil shock. Coil shocks only recommend 200 hour intervals to keep it feeling good so yes more time to ride!

    O_o if a coil shock's "open type" damper was fine, there's really no point in touching my air shock damper (exept air can service). After 2 seasons and 1300+ miles of urban no mud fun, it feels like new anyway.

    Hi....really nice video :-) quick question: where did you find the specs for the depth of the IFP in relation to stroke length ?

    • @jleemtb5578
      @jleemtb5578  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The IFP depth specs are in the service manual on the RS website

      This is a Renton Coil Springs brand titanium coil. Little bit harder to find with few distribution channels to shops

    If your shaft looks like the one in the video it’s very worn, best videos on TH-cam on how to do a full service but man you need to replace your stanction.
