I just want to say again that Hannah and Sylvee have done an amazing job so far and they are in no way to be held accountable for what went down yesterday (in my opinion). The event has been super intense to play thus far!

I'm going to leave this comment here now as I have been informed more on the situation since the making of this video. Both Sapnap and Couriway are in the wrong in this situation.
- Sapnap continuously broke rules that the participants were told to strictly follow or else we'd be disqualified (it was worded pretty strongly). This caused a lot of frustration because he (alongside other players, not just him) made other players' experience of the event worse by playing copyrighted music through the in-game voice chat and screaming when everyone was together.
- Couriway used strong wording to confront Sapnap, which was fueled with personal issues that Couri has against Sapnap. This was uncalled for and should not have happened, it was beyond rude. Couri is also not the only person responsible for negative comments towards Sapnap, but he was at the forefront of it all.
All in all this situation is just messy. Neither party fully deserves the hate that they've received from whatever happened on Day 3 of this tournament. Personally, I'm just tired of Minecraft events going poorly because of one or more players' opinion on the game or other participants, which keeps leading to negativity on the Minecraft event scene.

putting couri and sapnap aside, i think twitch rivals just needs to play test their games. This is a mistake they've had in the past, they have a 100k prizepool and they dont playtest the fucking game, then its incredibly unbalanced for one of the two sides, its ridiculous that they dont playtest games when 100k is on the line.
I don't want to comment on Sap's behavior because it's enabled by Twitch and their prioritizing CCVs at all costs. At some point the entire streaming community needs to realize that just because someone can pull thousands of viewers doesn't make them a good person to include in the event if they're going to continue to cause long term brand and community damage.

It may include others yes, but still he is at fault for being loud, screaming into the mic, playing copyrighted music, and just being rude in general. If he was mature he should of just ignored couriway but instead he sent all his 13 yr old stans to attack couri on twitter.

Purpled had a take that they could put like the smallest price point and they could get like 500 sweaty Minecraft kids to test and find all the flaws in the game. Just a little more effort in ensuring everything is fun and running smoothly
CPK was also a good sport at the end of day 3 when he should have been eliminated, same with Pete. I did watch the end of CPK’s vod and he was reacting to the discord general by laughing at the stupidity.
My opinion:
- In terms of the drama, Couri and Sapnap both acted Childish and obnoxious whilst Fulham just poured fuel on the fire. All I can hope is that they all have reflected on the way they acted yesterday
- I think Bad and 5up had very good opinions on the gamemode and why redoing a new game was one of the best that could be done, first of all obviously the best thing that should've been done was to not play that game or at least not call out that the game is being redone mid game so that people end up trolling.
- realistically there is an inherent difference between the RNG of previous gamemodes and the unfairness of this one, simply having differences between peoples points when they are doing the same thing is wrong
- Although people may dislike it if they get knocked out after already making it, it should be understood that you could feel even worse being knocked out from something that is not your fault, the next game only allowed 40 players so more players can't be brought in.
- Realistically people will be upset no matter what, as Bad said redoing a new game is the only option they have that will minimise the most amount of people being upset, due to people who get a second chance understanding that they wouldn't have made it anyway and those who make it being happy, the only ones unhappy are those who made it before and now don't.
-All that should be taken away from this is that people just need to shut up and deal with the decision that Twitch Rivals made. I feel bad for Sylvee and Hannah as the event was running really well until this gamemode and this is in no way their fault.

From a viewer perspective, Sapnap annoyed me so bad expecially on day 2. I'm not the only one, as when Couri muted him, the chat was filled with "W mute" and "BASED." Yesterday, from what I can tell, Sapnap was again really annoying in the discord and it was enough to prompt Couri to respond how he did. Do I think Couri responded unprofessionally? Yes. Do I think Sapnap deserved it? Yes. From Couri's stream today he said it's been one of the most mentally difficult weeks of his life. To be honest, I can't blame him for responding so poorly when there's someone being extremely annoying while there's money on the line and said annoying person doesn't care at all. Couri had to do well in this event since he had to leave his family early to move to Florida before the event, and not doing well would mean the early move would not be worth it. With all that stress I hope it would be understandable to not be in the greatest mindset. Outside of that, the supporters went insane on twitter (another reason not to go on twitter), and of course some people brought it to the extremes, such as doxxing Sapnap and making fun of the death of Couri's mother. Overall it's just not a fun situation for anyone involved.

The "grown man" who publicly promoted his Kick stream in a TWITCH RIVALS event. Yeah definitely seems like he can be reasoned with. What Couri should have done was mute that child and not sink to his level. Now he looks just as bad. But unlike Sap, he did care about the money, and in fact was the one that missed chances to see his family because to him (like most people) 100k is life changing amount of money. So while his behaviour isnt really excusable, it was much more understandable.

Ignoring the actual situation between Couri and Sapnap for a sec, Sapnap's fan were being arguably more obnoxious than him. Now, your allowed to have the opinion that Sapnap was in the right (tho i personally disagree i can respect your opinion) his fans couldn't accept that some people thought he was in the wrong (which is an opinion they are entitled to, just like the Sapnap fans are entitled to theirs). Craftymasterman is a great example, because the replies had a bunch of annoying "who are you?"s (which sidenote really annoys me that they are saying Crafty's opinion is void just because they aren't super well known or popular but that's an entire different rant that im not going on) and it was genuinely just annoying. They are literally "defending" Sapnap, while also making him look so much worse.
This has been such a problem with that side of Twitter where they’ve grown such a parasocial fan base and won’t speak out against their actions even when theyre in the wrong

I think the main lesson here is that it's useful to TEST the games. If games were tested, I feel like they were only tested with like 5 people. Look at the first game that was played, where everyone had to just run. In some parts people couldn't see anything because there were like 30 people stuck in the same spot, which I feel like would have been very obvious after one test. The prop hunt game would have probably gone better if they had tested it prior as well.

i think it's very strange that people are so quick to frame every attack on sapnap in the most positive way they can, and frame sapnap's responses as negatively as possible. like, even in this video, couri's message, which is just a flat out insult with zero actual insight or value or anything, is immediately framed as being the first callout of sapnaps behavior. there is no callout of behavior there, just an insult. and sapnaps "who are u" (which is considerably less mean) is immediately called childish. i see so many people excusing couri by referencing the context of a poorly run and stressful event but completely unwilling to extend any grace to sapnap for similar reasons. there was no personal fight until couri started slinging mud but for some reason people just dont care about that. weirdly large amount of people think being annoying in a minecraft event (where many other people are doing similar annoying things) warrants very hateful personal insults

I think the main reason for this is because Sapnap had been annoying in the previous days of the event, whilst Couri hadn't done anything. A lot of people missed what was actually said and just acted on what they had seen thus far, which is probably why it was so heavily sided in Couri's favor.

His brand is purely built off of being friends with dream, he didn’t work or do unique stuff to get where he is, and because of this, he’s really childish cos he’s just been fed like a baby his entire career. Absolutely hate Sapnap. It was the worst ever twitch rivals event.
I think there was some really immature behaviour from players this event, and as a viewer I was disappointed with the lack of professionalism. In events like these you're not just there to win money, you're also there to network and make content, though I understand that because there's a lot of money on the line it can be difficult to kind of relax and let the event run it's course. Now it just felt that some were choosing the worst way to react to things happening. Watching content creators from both the Spanish and the English sides the general vibes were like day and night, with the viewing experience becoming less fun with the drama until the final day when it all just became so absurd it was entertaining again.
At the end of the day, participants easily turn around and blame one another when clearly the main mistake was just the game being scuffed, and when there is money involved, it easily escalates.
I just hope to see more events like MCC Scuffed or Tubbathon BW where no one cares and no prize money.

Sapnap’s actions aside, what concerns me is the readiness with which some streamers are publicly being hostile or encouraging poor behaviour from fans
Some streamers are acting like this is a green light to spread hate and speaking as a fan who’s watched a lot of streamers in house of horrors it actively puts me off watching or wanting to be a part of the community
I’m not a fan of Sapnap but Couriway did instigate that response from him and not liking someone’s personality shouldn’t mean it’s okay to be nasty (as some of the streamers from the event have been)

many people were swearing and sing songs, why would people say only sapnap's name? because he is friends with dream. if you think sapnap was loud, you could turn his volume down in the settings (purpled did that). everyone have different humour, some people were saying crazy things too. he spammed letsgo because he thought the game was unfaair which it was, many people experienced glitches and didnt get to be hunter. if someone is happy that they survived and expressed that with saying lets goo, its bad? you dont picture the whole thing just saying he broke saveral rules, if you watch most pov broke rules by swearing lmao. its easy to just pick sapnap and target him couri couldve been more polite with the words, couri saying slurs and everyone turn against sapnap was saying a lot about the speedrun and mcc players

From what i understand, the issue with the music playing was not that he was playing music, as other people were too. The issue i understood was that he was playing copyrighted music through his microphone, which entered other people's streams and might cause their vod to be taken down. Im not sure if this is a rule in the vc, but it didnt seem very respectful to other players as a whole.
Im not too sure what you mean by the 'let's go' either as i think your points contradict? Like i fully understand celebrating that he made it past day 3 -- if i was in that situation i probably wouldve too! But perhaps it didnt come off at particularly the right time? Especially since people were arguing about rerun/no rerun.

The main reason this escalated because couri has a deep hatred for sapnap and dream team for a long time. So when sapnap replied to him he was baby raging on his chat and every tryhards were taking couri's side because you know they are friends with each other.
One more example i can give you that purpled was taking couri's side but his response to sapnap was the perfect one. When sapnap was loud during and before games he said sanap was obnoxious and turned his volume down without babyraging

Great video as always. I don't typically watch Tve but I've been seeing the drama pop up The whole event just sounds like it was badly run and the players and fans ended up lashing out at each other instead of criticizing the people in charge of creating and testing the games, which is where the anger really should be. Even without all the bugs, Connect 4 is an absolutely insane choice of game for the finale of a 100,000 contest. Player 1 can literally always win if they know what they're doing and are playing optimally. Even if they don't know exactly what they're doing, whoever goes first has to really fuck up for player 2 to be able to do anything other than force a tie.

I feel that say “who are u” can rub off the wrong way on some people, but directly calling someone out and expecting that person to not say something back is stupid. Also Couri’s had a grudge on him for a while from what I’ve heard, when sapnap never talked to the guy and yet the dude hates him and sapnap should be chill about it? Also couri bringing up money and sapnaps 4 plaques is pure jealousy, like yes sapnap might have more viewers and money but Couri also has a solid following and going out of character and talking shit about another person you don’t know isn’t justified. I mean ofc sapnap was being annoying but he was just having fun with Spanish streamers. They are some Spanish players who obviously aren't as good as the English players so he was just playing music (btw it was ai song, so its not copyrighted) and having fun with them. But I understand couriway, who is a pg streamer, wouldn't like the song (the song had a lot swears) but instead of calling him out in public he could dm in private, or he could mute him. Lot of drama could've been avoided if ppl just solve this privately. There are mistakes in both of them (also I think Fulham is also in wrong by screensharing the discord) you can't just blame sapnap alone. Some ppl are just blaming him because is part of dream team cuz that's just dumb.

I haven't seen most of what happened for this event and gave my perspective purely based on what I saw. I never claimed that Couri wasn't in the wrong and he definitely should be held accountable for some of the things he said (the things I saw, I may have missed some parts), but it is not entirely unprompted as Sapnap continuously broke rules that frustrated a large portion of the player base. A lot of people were clearly not happy with Sapnap in this event, but Couri was the one to confront him alongside his personal bias, which is why Couri's wording was so strong for seemingly no reason.
Additionally, Sapnap is not the only one to be held accountable for breaking multiple rules, as other competitors did the same things. He was just continuously the stand-out person, and in an event where participants were told to strictly follow the rules or else we'd potentially get disqualified, it makes sense to get frustrated when one of the more popular streamers breaks the rules consistently and gets no punishment for it.

negative behaviour is bad all around, but it's different levels from both sides. Sapnap is responsible for a lot of rule-breaking, which in turn frustrated a lot of the players, causing negativity
