Perhaps it would be prudent to point out that the book of 2 Esdras 'prophecy' was so on cue BECAUSE IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE 1ST CENTURY AD. Christ did not quote 2 Esdras, the author of 2 Esdras was quoting Christ.

2nd Esdras was written after the death of Jesus Christ according to many Biblical scholars. Isn't it possible that this book simply took from Matthew so it could look like scripture?

    • @gclmedia
      @gclmedia  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Some scholars suggest 2 Esdras’ composition dating during the 1st century CE, around the time of or shortly after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE. Others propose an earlier date, placing its composition closer to the 1st century BCE. However, certain texts within the Dead Sea Scrolls collection which state things that are found “solely” in 2 Edras were carbon dated to around 125 BC, which complicates the dating of 2nd Esdras. No scholarly consensus yet! (Scholars never agree on anything) Personally, I lean towards the 100 BC dating. But let's entertain the idea: what if it was written after Christ's death in 100 AD? Even then, it's remarkable! It challenges claims that Jesus wasn't seen as the Messiah or the Son of God during His time. However, it's important to note that scholarly opinions on this matter vary, and the perception of Jesus in his era is subject to debate among scholars. A 100 AD dating provides intriguing insights into how Jesus was perceived during His time. Fascinating stuff!

@@gclmediaHello, as a fellow believer of Christ I would encourage you to do extensive research regarding the process of carbon dating, the preconditions required, and its proven inaccuracy.
Essentially, carbon dating is very inaccurate, as it would require earth’s radiation to have reached equilibrium, which is a process that takes 30,000 years. It has been proven that it is not in equilibrium, which proves 2 things.
      1. Earth is not billions of years old(at least the Sun wasnt)
      2. Carbon dating will always be inaccurate
Also, many living animals carbon date back as having died hundreds of thousands of years ago. Almost all forms of chemical dating yield different results.

The apostle Paul quotes pagan poets and writers (1 Corinthians 15:33; Acts 17:28); Jude quotes from the Jewish apocryphal books of Enoch and the Assumption of Moses. Obviously an author may cite something from a work that he takes to be true without thereby ascribing divine authority to the whole book. In a sermon, the preacher may quote Shakespeare or Socrates or whoever else he wants, as long as the particular statement fits his purpose, and yet he does not imply that all that Shakespeare and Socrates ever wrote is gospel truth and needs to be included in the Bible!

Epimenides is quoted in Titus. That doesn't mean his writing should be scripture. It is exactly the same with the Apocrypha. To decide what goes in the scripture you can start with things written by apostles choosen by God. That gives us the 12 apostles and the apostle Paul. That already cuts out the Apocrypha.

I have an OLD family Bible - with the apocryphal books, as well as TONS of study material regarding flora, fauna, etc. - and that passage in Matthew, while it has most / all other references your old Bible does, it does NOT have the reference back to 2 Esdras. So, my first thought would be that, the publishers of your old Bible at the time keyed in on a link there. So, no, it was NOT “in the Bible” - it was in YOUR Bible, based on the particular publishers.

The Apocrypha is a collection of books written in the "four centuries" between the Old and New Testaments. NOTE: Jesus and the New Testament authors never directly quote the Apocrypha. Neither do they introduce it with labels that would suggest inspiration, such as “as it is written” or “as the Scripture says.” Many echoes and allusions have been detected in the New Testament,5 but no direct quotes or obvious paraphrases appear in the New Testament.

if Jesus can use Paul, even though Paul wasn't part of the twelve who Jesus taught in the flesh, then it seems Jesus can use anyone. Enoch's book was the first to call him son of man, i know it says that in daniel 7:13 but the book of enoch is confirmed within the bible itself, so when jesus calls himself the son of man, he is quoting enoch, enoch also talks about judgment etc. so these people trying to downplay 2 esdras, leave it be, also when a man asked jesus about marriage in heaven, the man spoke about a woman who had 7 husbands, that is from tobit 3:8 trust the holy spirit and jesus christ. i mean these churches want to claim jasher is uninspired or not part of the cannon when joshua tells you to look at it and in 2 samual mentions it, 2 or more witnesses remember?

    Romans 3:1-2
”What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.“
How could a bunch of Catholics write the Apocrypha if the Oracles were all Jews? No Gentile could’ve wrote the Bible (besides Luke) because everyone who writes a book of the Bible (at least in the Old Testament) was a Jew. The Apocrypha follows Catholic and Orthodox traditions that include false doctrines such as:
-You can pay your way into Heaven (Ecclesiasticus 3:30, Tobit 12:9)
    -Justifying suicide (2 Maccabees 14:42-43)
-The dead are delivered from their sins via money (2 Maccabees 12:43-45)
-Tobit 6:17 TELLS YOU to forget God when you get married
These books were completely invented by Catholics and Greek Orthodox cults, and not one lick of it was the word of God.
    Matthew 23:35
”that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.“
‭‭Jesus declares that the Old Testament runs from Genesis (Abel) to 2 Chronicles (Zacharias) with the rest of the 39 books of the Old Testament mixed in there (the Hebrew Old Testament is in a slightly different order than the English-Why, I don’t know).
See Ruckman’s full discussion on the topic by looking at the video titled, “Jesus Christ DENIES The Apocrypha! | They are NOT Canon!”.
Here are two other things to consider:
    1. It was never quoted by Christ nor any apostle. (This is the big one). As the guy below said, it’s possible that whatever heretic wrote the Apocrypha just took this from Matthew.
    2. Paul cited heathen poetry (Acts 17:28, Titus 1:12), but never ONE Apocryphal book.

Jesus quoted the book of enoch when arguing with the pharasees. He told them your error because you know not the scriptures. He told them that it doesn't matter which brother had a woman, for in the resserection, a man and or woman will not be married or given in marriage, but will be like the angels. Id say if Jesus quoted something that makes it scripture. But I've had literal arguments with pastors that say anything other that the holy Bible is a lie and of the devil. But I beg the differ. If Jesus says it's truth, then that makes it exactly 💯 that. And no opinion of a mortal man will change ge that. It didn't change it back then, and it won't change it now.

@@gclmedia Of course they are different. They are separate books with separate writers. I have a 300 year old bible and the Apocryphal is not in it. There are always people trying to add new books to the bible.
You claimed 'This was quoted by Jesus so it should be in the Bible'. I am saying 'No, just because something is quoted doesn't mean it should be included'. Like Epimenides being quoted in Titus, that doesn't mean it should be included.

More like the apocrypha quoted jesus as it was written hundreds of years after the death of jesus . What a stupid claim in this video 😂

Thank you so much! I appreciate you. I’d be interested to know which books of the Apocrypha were written hundreds of years after my Lord’s death and resurrection. According to my knowledge here are the dates given to each of the Apocryphal books by “Scholars” based on historical context, linguistic analysis, and textual evidence:
      1. Tobit - 3rd or 2nd century BCE
      2. Judith - Late 2nd or early 1st century BCE
      3. Additions to Esther - 2nd century BCE
      4. Wisdom of Solomon - 1st century BCE to 1st century CE
      5. Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) - Early 2nd century BCE
      6. Baruch - Late 6th to early 5th century BCE
      7. Letter of Jeremiah - 2nd century BCE
      8. Additions to Daniel (including Susanna, Bel and the Dragon) - 2nd century BCE
      9. Prayer of Azariah and Song of the Three Holy Children - 2nd century BCE
      10. Prayer of Manasseh - 2nd century BCE
      11. 1 Esdras (also known as Esdras A) - 2nd or 1st century BCE
      12. 2 Esdras (also known as 4 Ezra) - 1st century BCE to late 70 AD
      13. Additions to the Book of Psalms (including Psalm 151) - Various dates
      14. 3 Maccabees - 1st century BCE

To this day, no scholar has ever produced Greek copy of the old Testament written before A.D. 300.
The entire legend of the Septuagint rests on the flimsy support that the manuscripts written 200-400 years AFTER the death of Christ match the New Testament quotations.
Which is exactly what this apostate is doing with Mathew 23:37
The Lord Jesus Christ never quoted from a greek old testament because it never existed during his time.

number 1 jesus wasnt even word for word qouting a scripture
he said a whole paragraf wich had sevral simuler sentences to old testument qouts
but its not a deract qout
when jesus does qout he says it is writen
along with this deuterronomy says a increduble simuler qout also
jesus uses several metaphors and a hen garding her nest is very simple comparison and simuler has been used in in the old testament
that Sayed this video had a pretty weak argument

Thank you for watching and engaging. I appreciate you. I find it quite interesting how you will ignore the given evidence to imagine your personal biases into a text.
Jesus said, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” (Matthew 23:37, KJV)
      Indeed, it is cross-referenced to...
“As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.” (Deuteronomy 32:11-12, KJV) 🚫 no match, although similar...
      n comparison to...
“I gathered you together, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings: but now, what shall I do unto you? I will cast you out from my face.” (2 Esdras 1:30, KJVA) ✅
...I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings...(Matthew 23:37c)
      ⬆️⬇️
“I gathered you together, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings: (2 Esdras 1:30a) Nearly identical!? Single difference being “thy children”...
      🤷🏾‍♂️🤔

its not even a direct quote jesus says when he is quoting something he makes it clear also he gives a vary generic example which similar has been used@@gclmedia 1 its not a quote 2 he doesn't say he's quoting it he doesn't even say its written also the direct line you are refiring to is not even exactly identical to esdras so not just does he say not that he's quoting it but he doesn't even say the exact thing in fact he says the exact opposite jesus uses a similar metaphor but the outcome and context and meaning are totally different this isn't a quote its the exact opposite

You are trying too hard to stretch. That is a common enough reference to have been found in common discussion. You may as well claim that similar words, punctuation, and letters are used. That must mean the books in the Apocrypha are valid.

You are wrong SIR. The Most High was speaking in 2Esdras.
2Esdras-verse 32 The Most High states “ I sent you my Servants”
Matthew 23:37 states that Jesus was just telling them that the Prophets that was sent to them, they killed them. (Big Difference)
2Esdras-verse30 The Most High states that “ I gathered you as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings” (Meaning The Most High gathered them)
Matthew 23:37 (New Revised Standard Version) How I OFTEN (DESIRED) to gather THY(YOUR) children together as a hen gathered her brood under her wings and you are not willing.
Meaning Jesus wanted to gathered them but they refused. So Jesus didn’t gathered them. (Big Difference)
These are 2 Totally different Scriptures. 2 Esdras is The Most High speaking (ONLY) ---And-- Matthew 23 is Jesus speaking (ONLY). If anyone read the whole Scripture in 2Esdras, would have known that this was The Most High speaking.

not a quote at all Jesus says the exact opposite he accuses them of stoning the prophets and how he has longed to gather them but they refuse to be gathered and Esdras says the exact opposite that they are gathered not just are the sentences not identical but they have opposite meanings also he's not even quoting any thing when he says this he's in the middle of a paragraph oh yea shore a book as big as the bible that also has multiple metaphors and parables is bond to sound like another quote especially if the person reading happens to want the apocrypha in the bible for the sake of supporting contradicting doctrine about purgatory even thoe the apocrypha also supports talking to the dead praying to the dead affecting if there going to heaven or hell after death even offering money to god
trying to squeeze these together is ridicules

What are your thought on this one? th-cam.com/video/96wWxVSnrZM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Feic7IE6y_VVE21o do you think I should create about 4 or 5 of these videos a week, continuing to point out these Biblical cross references?
