    Great review Matt. 👍
    From a petrol head that converted to EVs 5 yrs ago and drives them daily , this is more awesome work from Hyundai. The depth of engineering they have put into it should be applauded and it’s great to see the level of customization and focus they have provided. sounds like a monster , puts a smile on your dial, and is happy to do the school run.
    On top of this you can charge it off your roof, there’s no fumes, it’s cheap to run and maintain and you can use to power your fridge camping or microwave in a power cut.
    Evolution in action. 💥😎💪

      Tyres are about $3000 to replace and from current owners that are already tracking them they last two track days. The cars weight and power chew them up fast. Not really affordable for the average person.

      @@big98181 Anything with similar performance (except track-only lightweights, perhaps) chews tyres nearly that fast on track. AND goes through a tank of petrol every few laps. AND requires a fair bit of servicing. Tracking cars is expensive.

    Looks awesome. Very much want. My 12 month old Sedan N is feeling a bit long in the tooth. Just a touch (a lot) pricey!

    To be honest, if I was going to get an EV, I'd go for the Genesis CV60.
    I'm 63 so I like my comfort. But I'm a 20 year old kid so I like my tech toys too. And as there's just me and my missus, the GV60's plenty big enough.
    But if I'd been 10 or 20 years younger, then the 5N would have been top of my list due to what it can do that no other EV can do.
    Take the kids to school in the morning. Then take the missus to do the weekly grocery shopping. Pick up the in-laws. And the latter will be none the wiser to the N5 Jekyll and Hyde personalities.
    But once the kids are back home. The shoppings been put away and the in-laws are safely deposited back to their -lair- home, with the press of a couple buttons, this family _"hot hatch"_ can unleash it's small nuclear reactor. You blast down the road with half of your brain screaming, _"I am a driving God_ while the other half gently persuades you, _"Licence... Licence... You'll lose your licence"._

    The price of the mentioned EV6 GT is reduced from previously. This is for those serious driving requirement. If you think about values, second hand values, this is not what it will provide. But if you want to taste 0-100 in 3.4 seconds and its driving dynamic, this is probably the cheapest car on the market you can have. I personally prefer the look of EV6 GT , but this one is probably even more engaging to drive.
    The back seat passenger without warning will probably throw up if you punch this car hard.

    I'm holding off buying a KIA EV6 GT for $53,000-57,000 out the door to see if the Ioniq 5 N is worth it. How were the C pillar blindspots? In the EV6, it was atrocious. Thank you for reviewing early for us US subscribers.

    Looks like you really enjoyed that test drive. For me the cost is way, way too much even with all the tech. Just something I would like know which you didn't cover as you didn't take to the track in your review, are there fast chargers at any of the tracks? If as you say that it uses the battery up fairly quick when pushed hard as expected, you'd want to be able to charge it to get back home. Not knocking the car as it looks like it goes pretty good but it's not like you can just pump some petrol into it when it runs out.

    This car is a engineered track weopon and the Model Y performance is just a immature engineering experiment, both are going to plummet once the EV depreceation hits so theres that if you actually want to own one of these. With that said isofix and boot space is irrelevant for this car as no sane parent is going to daily this with thiier kids in tow, its just too fast, plus that boot is way too short if you have to stand a pram vertically to make more room. This thing is meant for the track with the occasional run to the shops, unlike alot of its competitors it can drive to the track and back, just make sure you pack a couple grand for the tyres youre going to burn up in no time.

      It will last longer than American made cars. Fact, some American made cars can't even run for 1 full auto journalists review. Road & Track have to delay their review because the Corvette keep overheat during the review and then the A pillar, B pillar, and roof liner were falling apart within 1 week.

    Lets address the elephant in the room.
    448 WLTP range in optimim (non acheivable conditions) yet the battery is only warranted for 70% of range for up to 8 years. That reduces it to a max possible of 314 klms (more likely 250klm) after 8 years.
    Surely this isnt helping the environment as the cars will be unuseable.
    I think this seems like a great car but it just doesnt make sense for a private buyer, financially speaking of course

    • @johnwhelan8070
      @johnwhelan8070 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A guarantee of 70% on the battery means if it drops below the 70% the battery is replaced !! Not that the range will reduce to this. The batteries are good for between 500,000 & 1,000,000 klms , if You don’t like EV’s why bother even look or comment on these video’s, Anyone buying an EV has a brain and know what and why they’ve bought one, You will never buy one great no problem , but that doesn’t mean you’ve the right to critique just because EV owners don’t agree with your lack of knowledge .

    • @stevemuscat4601
      @stevemuscat4601 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I why do EV fan boys get so butt hurt when someone offers a differing opinion to their purchase or life style decisions If you actually read my commentary and loon at the tone of it , you might understand what I have commented on.
      Your sense of entitlement with comments like what right do you have to comment just shows how ironic that statement is.
      For the record, as per my last paragraph,I didn’t say EVs were wrong or unnecessary. Just that at their price point, and with their associated actual costs, that they don’t make sense atm to a private buyer. I actually like the N , but financially it doesn’t make sense atm, unless it’s on a lease.
      I’m sure the future will bring batter battery tech that makes these cars viable to private buyers.
      I’m ok with the fact that you have a different opinion to mine, I can respect that not everyone agrees with my opinion. I don’t need to convert your thinking, it’s fine.
      I look fwd to some response justifying your comments.

    • @johnwhelan8070
      @johnwhelan8070 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Steve so you've completely ignored my actual comments and just consentrated on an actual wording lol , All I said was that You were wrong in what you actually said re batteries, believe you me I've raced for over 30 yrs and very successfully in ICE cars, my comments still stand in that you have commented on a tread which in your opinion is correct , I just corrected you if you re read my critique I've no intrest in making any more of this really , great carby the way, oh and I drive a model Y performance as a daily and it's also great at what it does and I'm delighted with it and I continue to race cars also :)
