Finally, a fight that allows him enough progress on the Blossom Shower attack to give me an idea of how it works. Only had a description to go by till this vid. Didn't expect so many petals at the end of it. Nice projectile summoning for its finisher.

I am not sure. But let me get a little bit into my experiences with Sora's story. Everytime i fought as Organization member, i was always getting destroyed. Planning out different strategies and everything. I spammed Sonic blade a lot but even that doesn't do too much. I always managed to pull out a win after quite a few tries though. Now on Riku. The one boss that gave me trouble was Lexaeus. Took me about two tries. Third try i was like fuck strategy i'll just spam cards and i wiped that floor with him in a minute. After that i pretty much breezed through the game. I am going to have to go with Riku my friend. He's my favorite character to boot :)
parag3247 dude you're right, the game sure isn't equally balanced, I mean if you play the game for the 1st time, the 1st and 2nd Riku Replicas in Sora's story are so freaking annoying, Sora's speed is like 10, his speed is instead 100; on the other hand Riku can rely on his rapid break which also deals more damage than the ordinary CB, So yes between the 2 of them, SORA would lose at least for the first tries. Yet another point in Riku's advantage is the card duel ( My favorite are Dark Impulse and Dark Maelstrom ) after which you can just use D Break or D Aura to utterly annihilate your opponent. For just a minute think of what it could have been of this game if Dark Mode would also be featuring Dark transformation ( the ultra cool looking electric orb of darkness ), In that case Riku would have been like "welcome into Oblivion" and then he'd just need some attack cards to win without sleights and utterly humiliate your opponent. And a last question, am I the only one who thinks this game in the saga is a little bit underrated because of the card thing?? I mean sometimes it gets frustratingly annoying ( Riku vs Trickmaster ) but still it's honestly one of my favorite installments ever. What is your own opinion in such regards ??
I would say that the story line is underrated for sure. It had a much better and more darker plot than Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep which are by far the fan favs of the series. I would have to say Riku's story really makes up for the overall gameplay. I had a bitch of a time with Sora's story but over all i did enjoy myself. I'll give it a solid 8/10 :) I gave a same score to kingdom hearts 2 which had a really fun gameplay but the story was significantly a let down compared to Kh1 and Chain of Memories.
parag3247 yes that is exactly my point, ALSO let's not forget that this game ( as u already know ) consists of 2 stories perfectly harmonized with each other, you might look at the 2 individual stories and create connection between all the characters, or ( like I do ) you can just see it like 1 big story in which characters interact with the 2 players at an alternate peace, which also makes all the more interesting for the player to discern at what point of the game Sora or Riku is whenever a cutscene is on. Talking of underrated, let's not talk about re coded, I mostly agree with the most of complains but in my opinion it gets outstandingly intriguing by the end ( Also re coded is the game in which it's perfectly explained how the rooms of castle oblivion work on Sora's mind ). We basically came to realize that whomever walks inside the white rooms of CO ( being CO a data world or the actual world ) basically allucinates even more than L. Carrolll by being at the mercy of his/her memories. I think this one of the most interesting stuff this whole saga has offered me.
Well, considering this game was made by the same team that did KH2 AND this was developed alongside KH2FM to be released as a pack-in title alongside it, it's to be expected.

My bet is that since you warped to a boss battle rather than a regular heartless battle, it treats the different attacks for their own sleights. I've only seen Riku get barrage (7 cards), against the later bosses, regardless of value, and maelstrom (5) against the mid one.
The fact that you were able to properly Duel Marluxia tells me that perhaps there was at one point an option to fight him at Riku? Unless the dual part is part of the hacks code
