@aaron18283 And that is why I know people were geared up to hate Jesy regardless of whatever song or image she bought to her solo career. Ariana Grande cosplayed as a Latinx and Black woman for YEARS and no one batted an eye at her black fishing and it didn’t stop her from winning awards and getting streamed. So, what was the reason they came for Jesy? She also has never said she was Black or mixed race either and only made an homage to the Bad Boys song that was frame for frame a reference to the original video.
@@AbracadabraBipipityBopotyBOO Well Ariana's image was a kind of big deal, she became thin, looked way younger than she was and looked obviously tanned but she did use her nickoldeon Cat - good girl image for a while and didn't push too hard on being a bad girl. Instead she was mostly known for being a very pretty child star breaking into the industry by allegedly copying Mariah Carey. And her songs were good.

Bad things imo is a good song with a nice video but her messy debut just ruined it all. One thing i did hate tho was people telling her that she couldnt release a spng about domestic violence or that it felt cheap because people couldnt critique it? 1st off you can critique a song no matter what regardless of its subject matter Secondly, its disingenuous to criticize or shit talk a song because you dont like the person. Criticize the character not the work.
I am a Little Mix OG fan and I didn't even know that Jesy put out a second single until I saw this video HAHAHA That's how you know that the LM fandom has completely disowned her.
Jesy was just so dramatic and it was so unnecessary. She was so messy and ruined her own career. I’m just gonna say it, so far Leigh Anne has had the best music and start of her career out of the girls. Perrie is ok I just think her music has been too generic and unauthentic. I didn’t think jesy would make it far even without the drama. Jade will debut in July and I have high hopes for her.
@@MotoGPForever4527 learn your math because overall Leigh has more streams ? Some of her ep songs has more streams than her second single tears? Tears hasn’t even reached a million streams yet and it’s her second single ? Sorry but perrie isn’t living up to the hype but Leigh Anne is exceeding expectations. By the way Leigh Anne and perrie both have 1.6 monthly listeners despite Leigh Anne not doing promo or dropping a single. Perries should be way more since in your eyes she’s doing much better right?😂
@AECONIC exactly…..she still didn’t get promo for it and still has amazing streams and the same monthly listeners as perrie who has been the one having her solo moment dropping two singles and doing promo. Take that how you will and leave at that.
It didn't help that Jesy's former girl group where all about woman empowerment and sisterhood then when she went solo she legit talked shit about her former group like they weren't her 3 bestfriends for the past decade. It left a bad taste in her fans' mouths. It drove away even her long time fans because her attitude seemed so hypocritical.
i’ve been a little mix fan since i was about 13- im 20 now. jesy, for the longest time, was my favorite member due to relating to her struggle of being insecure in her weight. being there to watch jesy & nicki tear leigh down and call her jealous of jesy actually broke my heart. leigh has ALWAYS been the biggest sweetheart, and she didn’t deserve that in the slightest. i disliked jesy for a while after that, and still mostly do. boyz was a terrible song, but bad things definitely deserved a chance. stream leigh-anne’s new ep “no hard feelings” and perrie’s latest single, “tears”! :)
Another thing in common, is that both releases were so selfish and egocentric. Jesy's departure from Little Mix got her a lot of sympathy, along with the understanding that she needed time away from the limelight. So when she came back (too quickly) with a worse version of what she was already doing at LM, seemingly contradicting her own statements, it did not feel like a genuine new start like we were wishing for her, but instead like an unjustified divorce that left everyone worse off. It's as if she was "finally I am free to do what I want, now where's the fake tan !?" Jojo's debut is also treating her fanbase as irrelevant or even a burden. You like me? Too bad, now I am BAAAAD. I have no doubt Jojo got stuck playing a (cringe and immature) role which was not comfortable, and which she needed to shed, but she chose instead to go for something even more cringe and immature. Why ? Clearly because she wanted to be the center of attention, instead of being open and transparent and honest in her new era. Jojo wants to break away from her persona, but where it would be beautiful and sweet to be herself with her fans, instead she treats it like a game. Now, selfishness and egocentrism in music is very common, but those two situations were so blatant that I am not surprised it turned out bad for them.
@@amoreweasley5302 "some fans" like... 3 of them? She was doing it since 2016 and people only commented, and very rarely, about it when the Sweet Melody video dropped. They only sent *hate* and labeled her racist after she left the group though
I feel bad about Jesy's situation, because I think she was running from her issues by leaving Little Mix and then she didn't take time to work through them before exploring herself as an artist. I suppose that's why her debut had to be just a copy and paste job of an existing song and video. I hope she manages to turn things around both personally and professionally.
Amen. As an OG Mixer, it’s clear the girl has been spiraling for a long time with body dysmorphia, substance abuse issues, and self-esteem problems. The way the tabloids berated her, her label mishandled her issues, and even the fans turned on her continuously from her X Factor days until now, makes me sad for her because she of all the girls doesn’t seem as if she ever really got to enjoy being in Little Mix. When she said she didn’t want to be in the group to avoid comparisons, it made sense. I still can’t believe her label heard her say she wanted to delete herself and still called her to come into work the next week.
you can tell jesy is still very insecure and resentful towards the other girls. she's always been jealous of them, especially of leigh. i know this doesn't justify anything she's done, but i can't help but feel bad for her. i know what it feels like to be relentlessly bullied; it scars you for life.
@chiara8822 You’re rewriting history. From the X Factor days until almost the second to last album, Jesy was the girl who would fight for all of the girls if anyone said anything to or about them. She got in trouble for defending Leigh-Anne against the other Black contestant on C Factor and told radio DJs off for bringing Zayn up when he and Petrie broke up. You are right though that it’s clear she was scarred and never seemed to enjoy her time as a celebrity because of how nasty the UK press has been to her and other celebrities.
Ironically enough she even said positive things about Abby Lee that would be her equivalent of who she owns her fame, and in that case she actually shouldn’t keep saying good things about that abuser
Boyz was a decent song but i really like bad thing more, it felt more real and i was able to connect with it more than boyz which became quite forgettable after awhile, bad thing definitely deserved more than it got❤
The other girls are still close and support each other though, Jesy just ruined it for herself because she wanted to be someone she's not. That's her own fault.
JoJo was just for her time. That was it. Beyond what she's done in the past decade. Nobody cares. She's like the Kardashians/Jenners. Once your time in the spotlight starts to fade. You gotta do everything you can to stay relevant. It's sad honestly. Especially for the "celebrities" who have no talent/jobs These social media influencers/reality stars/gamers
Honestly, the spotlight never left the Kardashian/Jenners. Even if they are basically not doing anything, the news really do stick to them. I get tired hearing from Kardashians too but just accepted that even after a decade and in the future, they still will be relevant. And why is that? The kids are continuing their legacy. Everyone is talking about the kids as well (thankfully in a good way, right now). And even w/o the kids, people are still talking about them (just kendall eating out, kylie dating, kim's shenanigans, what they wear, blah blah). I can't really compare Jojo to them because lmao I dont know what to say about jojo haha still trying to grasp it 😂
Jesy was trying so hard to seem like a poc/black girl, she know damn well that she was never like that growing up and even early Little Mix days. Putting on that persona just to start her music career was so disgusting. I used to be fan of her when she was in Little Mix, she was my favorite one and I defended her all the time, but after what she did to Leigh-Anne Pinnock and her blocking fans for trying to educate her made me lose all respect for her. Jojo Siwa is just plain cringy and so extra af for no reason. Enough said....
the difference between them is that jesy was more hated than jojo is jesy is not blackfishing recently, even though she never said anything, it looks like she stopped i really just wish jesy improved, in her little mix era she was really different...

@@PlasticSkies-e9k Miley did promote her music, just not as aggressively as other artists. During her Bangerz era, she gained massive attention due to the controversy surrounding it. Coming off Hannah Montana, she transformed into a wild persona with a short pixie cut, which drew a lot of attention. However, after Bangerz, her Dead Petz era didn’t create much buzz because she had fallen off the charts, and people had grown tired of her outrageous behavior-sticking her tongue out and being vulgar constantly. Her Malibu era came and went, with the only memorable moment being her Billboard performance. She attempted to regain momentum with *She is Coming*, but the project was eventually canceled, and even songs like "Mother’s Daughter" didn’t generate much interest. Miley did actively promote *Plastic Hearts*, performing at the VMAs, pre-Super Bowl events, and more. Despite these efforts, her stardom has waned, largely because she lost a lot of fans during her "wild" phase, and many of them switched to other pop stars. It’s not accurate to say she didn’t promote her music, as she had many live performances and appearances at events like the VMAs. Her last album only gained significant attention because of the success of "Flowers," but it’s clear she’s no longer the "it-girl." She remains an A-list celebrity, but that’s about it. Even her collaboration with Beyoncé didn’t perform well, peaking at number six on the Billboard charts before quickly dropping. If the song had been with Ariana Grande, it likely would have been a more stable hit. Have a nice day! Oh, and I won’t be commenting anymore.
Honest, you have to play fair. When it comes to the Diddy cameo to be fair to Jesy, this was 2 years (2022) BEFORE all the stuff came out about him so I don’t think that it’s fair to say that by him makng a cameo (at the time), was a bad move on Jesy’s part for a debut solo song. Now, if she had released the song AFTER the Diddy stuff then I would agree with your point however, as it was before I don’t think it should be used against her. Jesy didn’t navigate her departure from Little Mix very well at all. She had already fallen out with the rest of the group and was bashing the groups sound. Fair enough that she was more into r&b than pop, but it was the girly pop sound that gave her the platform she has to make music. She shouldn’t have parted with the group in a negative way and bash her former group members. Then to say that you needed a break to take time away, when in fact you were planning on releasing solo music, is what made her not come off well. The song and video in (terms of her look) is what gave negative feedback. I guess some Little Mix fans didn’t like her anymore due to how she left the group and on the other hand, people felt that she was trying too hard to ger away from the Little Mix pop image to be more cool and ‘urban’. The controversy about her look relating to blackfishing also came up which didn’t help then, to add on to all of that there was more drama between her and Leigh-Anne and Nicki Minaj got involved defending Jesy-which caused more problems. The song didn’t land well due to Jesy try too hard to be cool and urban and people found her image and the song corny. Jesy is lost when it comes to music. She shouldn’t have burnt bridges with her ex group members and really should’ve taken time out to figure out who she is and her sound because by doing that, she would’ve had an authentic transition into a solo artist. Maybe in the future she will come out with more believable and better music but for now, she needs to find her way.
People in the industry have known about Diddy for years. There’s a reason his appearances in songs started to dwindle even before the allegations came out Not to mention she worked with Nicki and all the stuff about her man was definitely known and an issue but jesy didn’t care cuz she was starstruck

The reception to the song was so clearly negative. And it’s weird to say things went downhill from Leigh Anne talking about the blackfishing cause that’s another lie. Everyone already talked about it after her first picture after the announcement she was leaving the group when she was still dark. I’m sorry but I loved the song “boyz” the visuals were pretty and the song was a little nostalgic bop, it’s kinda sad to see how the controversy gathered more attention than the actual song
Considering the Boyz would have been a hit, I dont think Jesy doesn't even DESERVE to be along side Jojo and Karma as a bad debut. Jojo and Karma were DESTINED to flop because of the way Jojo handled it while Jesy's problem wasn't the song but her CONTINUOUS scandals of mistreating little mix members(Especially Leigh-Anne) and her constant blackfishing
The worst parts of Jojo’s controversy were saying she wrote the song, saying she changed the sound completely from the previous version, saying she didn’t know who Brit Smith was, saying she wanted to invent gay pop, saying she didn’t knwo who Gene Simmons was.. etc. It was more her lack of awareness than the fact that it was not as good as Brit’s one
In Jesy's defense, the general public was not aware of all the craziness Diddy has been involved in (aside from gossip, we just started learning about Diddy's stuff in 2023), so I imagine she didn't know when her song was released in 2021.
Jojo’s debut is actually quite succesful if you think about it, the song and dance went crazy viral on tiktok. Even though its just to make fun of it, everyone did that dance 💀

What troubled her debut was for sure the controversy surrounding her, Leigh-Anne and Nicki. The song is not great, but not awful either
@@AbracadabraBipipityBopotyBOO true
@@AbracadabraBipipityBopotyBOO Well Ariana's image was a kind of big deal, she became thin, looked way younger than she was and looked obviously tanned but she did use her nickoldeon Cat - good girl image for a while and didn't push too hard on being a bad girl. Instead she was mostly known for being a very pretty child star breaking into the industry by allegedly copying Mariah Carey. And her songs were good.

Secondly, its disingenuous to criticize or shit talk a song because you dont like the person.
Perrie is ok I just think her music has been too generic and unauthentic. i’ve been a little mix fan since i was about 13- im 20 now. jesy, for the longest time, was my favorite member due to relating to her struggle of being insecure in her weight. being there to watch jesy & nicki tear leigh down and call her jealous of jesy actually broke my heart. leigh has ALWAYS been the biggest sweetheart, and she didn’t deserve that in the slightest.

JINGLE BELL BOW
ARE YA READYYYYY
NO WERE NOT❗️
Jesy threw her entire career to the trash just because she didnt want to stop cosplaying black women…
What?!
She wants to be black, that's her business. what's the problem
It's as if she was "finally I am free to do what I want, now where's the fake tan !?"
Jojo's debut is also treating her fanbase as irrelevant or even a burden.

Diddy’s latest antics has made Jessy’s debut even worse.
The difference is that Drake is mixed and Jesy is 100% White
@DanielSiddique-hq3og if you are pretending to be a race, you're not that's a crime

Feels like Jesy messed up bigger because she trashed her ex-band. JoJo is somewhere in the corner doing her thing.

Boyz was a decent song but i really like bad thing more, it felt more real and i was able to connect with it more than boyz which became quite forgettable after awhile, bad thing definitely deserved more than it got❤
Little Mix had me thinking there was true united friendship inside this group. Then it made me realise it was still business.
The other girls are still close and support each other though, Jesy just ruined it for herself because she wanted to be someone she's not. That's her own fault.
There WAS tho. The other 3 are still close. Leighanne just posted on her Instagram story today about Perrie.
JESY was the problem.
I’m gonna be honest you really make good videos
Honestly these two are proof that contrary to popular belief, not all press is good press.
This needs to be a whole list of musicians
Are we forgetting "Can't Be Tamed"? Miley had to re-debut basically.

@@LaraCookie5 she didnt promote anything after bangerz thats why even flowers not promoted much just tiktok she didnt do tour since bangerz she does a album then she vanishes then she comes back with another
@@PlasticSkies-e9k Miley did promote her music, just not as aggressively as other artists.
There’s a reason his appearances in songs started to dwindle even before the allegations came out
Not to mention she worked with Nicki and all the stuff about her man was definitely known and an issue but jesy didn’t care cuz she was starstruck

The reception to the song was so clearly negative. And it’s weird to say things went downhill from Leigh Anne talking about the blackfishing cause that’s another lie. Everyone already talked about it after her first picture after the announcement she was leaving the group when she was still dark.
