This is literally the best beginner tutorial that I have watched!!!! Thank you so much for making it! I will be watching your other tutorials. I learned so much watching this video. I am going to be so sad if you have stopped making videos!!! Nobody makes videos like this!!! Thanks again! This newbie loved learning from your video!!!
Wow this is the best beginners tutorial I've watched. I've been watching glass videos for months and none of them have explained everything from the torch and the oxygen and propane like you have, I understand it now. And also the way you have explained applying the glass to the mandrel makes way more sense to me now. I wish I had found your videos early. Thankyou so so much for sharing.
Thank you for sharing these great videos, packed with tons of invaluable tips. No doubt I'll try your technique this weekend. I wish all the very best to you and your channel 👏👏👏
Thank you for your nice note and comments. I really appreciate when people take the time to leave a message. It pleases me to no end that maybe my little videos can be of assistance to others. Good luck with the techniques - Have fun and let me know how it goes!
Please, don't be so shy, your videos are really a treasure even for people who are not completely new to lampwork but have wasted some pounds (or kgs 😊)'of glass and still need to brush up some basic skills or want to expand their potential. 40 minutes of a video of a base bead (hours for setup, recording, making video, thinking how it will be seen and understood) means a huge investment of time and efforts. I have just one question - when you weave glass in the "thread mode" do you care about possible air pockets between the threads? Or slow heating allows the air leave the narrow spaces without being trapped inside?
@@ekaterinaabramova4139 Hello again! You are exactly right that the heat process itself, heating from the exterior in towards the core, usually resolves the trapped air bubble issue. In fact I mention it in my newest Video Tutorial "Fun & Easy 5-Bead Set - Squishing, Avoiding Air Bubbles". If you copy and paste the following url into your browser it will take you right there. th-cam.com/video/8c6VMU4kAEw/w-d-xo.html Thanks for your note!
I think your video is very well done. It is basic but I have not been torching very long and am also self teaching; so I do like the basic tips and will try some of the recommendations that you showed. Will be following you and hope you continue with the tutorials.

Great teaching style, lots of tips. New sub. Look forward to watching more of your videos. It takes time to build a channel but the larger it gets the faster it grows. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge.
I am so excited about this! The way you are teaching is incredibly on point for how my brain works. This perspective and detail is invaluable. I’m going to be working my way through your videos. I’ve been searching for a medium that not only is an outlet for my creativity, but feeds the nuances of rigidity my body and mind craves. I’m delighted. Thank you for sharing!
15:16 he hints this maybe soft glass:) im a new boro artist, interested in small soft glass sculptures too. Id like to try mandrels for boro but not sure if its nessaccarry
This is fantastic! Thank you for showing your technique you developed. So by annealing the bead in the torch you do not need to put it in a kiln? What is your insulating material in the bowl? Vermiculite? I have used that. Do you have any videos on how you clean the bead?
I want to get started with 104 soft glass. And I have no clue where to get glass. Every place I've found and looked. Clear was always sold out and my plans involve clear 😅 any tips for glass suppliers

You are very welcome - Enjoy!!
Awesome tutorial! So helpful.
I have been bead making since 2002.
This is the best tutorial I have ever seen! Yeah, the best!
Thanks!
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Love the detail you provide! Looking forward to the hollow bead video!
Thanks, Sari! I'm really enjoying the creative process; "virtual" teaching, video editing, problem solving... It keeps me on my toes!
This is an awesome tutorial!!

Ok I see you do put them on the kiln. At what temperature and how long do you put them in kiln?
