Hmmm...almost sounds like you're talking about Glam here, I always took metal very seriously since I started listening to it about 18 years ago, it's serious music (doesn't have to be ultra serious, but real and not some trendy bullshit with bullshit lyrics).
To me fun is...I guess getting drunk, playing video or whatever...but music (to me) is WAY beyond that.

@Blood Eagle 88 old carcass are sloppy and gimmicky. If Bill Steer was not in the band and they didn't have the ultra gory covers nobody would care about them. Good for you if that's what you are into. Carcass have always been the wish version of a real grindcore band for me.
