Ha I bet at some point we were probably next to each other rumaging in those bargain bins!! 🤣 there was a fair ammount to look at that for sure👍 cheers
Hi Richard, Very enjoyable video! Some great layouts on show! I always find after good exhibition it revitalizes you to crack on with your own railway stuff 😁. Did the Dapol stand show the Battle of Britain steamers? Will you be going to Warley this year? Thanks for sharing, All the best Tony.
Hi Tony, Im not sure about Warley just yet as I do have some commitments at home, If i do go I will be sure to mention Im going beforehand though probably in a video👍, It sounds like its a really good show to get too, never been before! The Dapol stand had leaflets about the Merchant class? Locos... game changer with them is they will be body driven, not tender driven👍 i suspect they will be sublime with details too. Speak soon Rich
Great video. I enjoyed watching this at home with a beer in Abu Dhabi. Good way of winding down after work. Some fantastic layouts there. It isn't easy to get back home for these, but I might see if I can get to Warley in November. Are you likely to be there?
Im not sure about Warley just yet due to home commitments. I am off to GETS at Milton Keynes in October though. Im glad you enjoyed the video, I very nearly added narration to the video however i think going for music with the videos vs my droning voice was the better option in this case 🤣, Cheers Rich
Looks like there were some great layouts on there this year! Thanks for giving us a taste of the show Rich! Hope you grabbed a few bargains! Dapol seem to have gone a bit crazy with announcements since the show! Not sure how many times I've pressed the pre-order to trunk button on Hattons website, but I'm sure it's more than once! Lol! All the best, Ian.
Ian I love Dapol stuff too👍 lovely to see the new "Merchant Class"?? Think thats correct🤷, anyway the motors will be in the loco body vs the tender so lots more space in the tender area! 👍 Yes there were some stunning layouts, hopefully my video will influence others to visit TINGS maybe next year. Are you off to any events this year? Cheers Rich
@@ThisWayWorksTWW - Morning Rich! I like "some" of the Dapol stuff but find some of their locos frustrating - like the class 122, which has a ton of detail, but runs really poorly! Yes, the Merchant announcement with motor in the body is exciting! I guess that means a speaker can be fitted to the tender - although the sound fitted version is eye-wateringly expensive! My one and only planned visit for this year was to go to the NGS show in York, but the rail strikes prevented me from attending, which was annoying! Cheers, Ian.
@@iansngauge oh I wonder why your 122 is running bad? Most of the time with dapol diesels its something to do with where the bogies clip into the loco, grease maybe or badly aligned pickups above the bogies. I think its the details i actually prefer vs the running of some Dapols as normally i can somewhat improve the performance such as adding a stay alive for example if i had to 👍
@@ThisWayWorksTWW - With the running, it tends to run okay at constant speed, but transitioning between speeds it has a tendency to be a bit jerky as it speeds up or slows down! It's also way too fast, although I can probably sort that by fiddling with the CV values! I'm not sure what motor it has, but it's nowhere near as controllable as the "supercreep" motors fitted to the class 33 and HST!
@@iansngauge so it is on DCC? If so that sounds more like a decoder symptom.. one easy check would be to put the decoder from your one of your good smooth running DCC locos in the 122 to test it.. some brands of decoders arent the best for slow speeds and do a weird jumpy thing at lower speeds. You could always just run the loco with the blank chip on DC to troubleshoot. All this being said if its not on DCC ignore me haha
Thanks for sharing!! Certainly some fantastic layouts 😎
Thanks for Watching, bit warm on the day but what a lovely show and people👍
@@ThisWayWorksTWW that’s what counts. 😎

Now then Richard, some cracking layouts there!
Were you tempted by Dapol’s gorgeous 125?
Absolutely they were good layouts! The Midland Mainline livery is really nice, i allready have to many though 😂
@@ThisWayWorksTWW too many? Not sure what you mean?
@@PeachyTT120 😂😂.. i could.make space for more Swallow liveries maybe... 😂😂
