    Watching the chassis disassembly makes me glad I joined N-gauge in the Bachmann Farish era!

    Thank you for these videos, finally I've found someone fixing the same chassis I have on a class 33 that's packed up!

    Hi Rich - I had never seen your channel advertised before so it was not until Ian of Ian's N Gauge told me about you that I looked in. I have subscribed.
    Enjoyed this video straight away, nothing better than to see someone do it first and show you how to take apart properly.
    I am building a replica of Bognor Regis terminal Era 3 in N gauge and I have a lovely photo of what I think are four LBSCR Stroudley D class 0-4-2 tank locomotives around the turntable. These by all accounts replaced the terriers that were there.
    They were often used for shunter duties but no one seems to make them but they still look very much like the Dapol 2S-012-018 N Gauge SR Terrier 0-6-0 T B653 Southern Lined Green which they state are not DCC Suitable, but I have seen them converted. Quite sure I can make it look like a D class.
    I have acquired a Terrier along with a Tramfabreik 12V coreless motor and a small harness decoder from DCCconcepts (such as the DCD-ZN8H.2).
    The new motor just gives you more space to put the decoder in there.
    Now that is a challenge I would love you to do, more than happy for you to use what I have.
    Regards Chris

      Hi Chris welcome! Ians a good egg isnt he :), I realise the Terrier itself is a tiny loco really, yes possibly changing the motor could net you space gains, I thought Dapol did a 0-6-2 in N gauge, the exact name of the loco escapes me. I really struggled to fit a decoder and stay alive into my pannier loco by Dapol. It might be worth looking at that video to see a similar chassis to that of your terriers, Cheers Rich

    Just got a cheap non runner off eBay. Similar problem. As well as pick up problems. Half an hour later she's running like a dream.

    Hi Rich! Well that was an easy fix compared to some of your other fixes! Handy having the propshaft in the box to give you a clue! Another useful lesson on how to get into a loco though, which is usually half of the battle for me! All the best, Ian. PS. Are you going to GETS in a couple of weeks time?

    • @ThisWayWorksTWW
      @ThisWayWorksTWW  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes i was surprised myself, i cant see how the propshaft would of just popped out so maybe someone just gave up on it after it had been opened before? Yes il be at GETS on the Saturday having a good look around, are you going?

      Poole type around £40-50.. the one in the video can fetch a fair price as they arent that common in blue, they run really well but it has the same shell as the poole type so finding a green one with this chinese chassis may be easier. You may find one for around £50-60... Third option is the new tool version which these go for around £100, lights and smooth runners and also DCC ready very accurate and detailed 👍
