I'm now going to replace my SGS with the SXZ and gee I regret not rooting my Nex! From now on the very first thing I will do with every new device is to root! Especially now that I won't have a Nexus, never know about those updates. Have you tried the Sony XZ btw *****? Thoughts?
***** I just got my first android phone a nexus 4 las week and am in love with it don't know how to do any of the stuff you out up on our videos but just admit comes it puts the smack down on my iPhone that am going to junk
Thanks Armando. I was dubious about rooting my phone. However, I followed all of the online instructions and TH-cam videos and did it with no problem. I am now exploring the idea of getting rid of bloatware etc to clean up my device and maximize its potential. Thanks.
When I first rooted my evo way back when I realized There's such an upside to rooting. I honestly don't understand why people wouldn't want to. Great video as always.
I support app developers by paying for my apps. But if your going to show me an ad that I'm never going to click it's pointless and just makes the app terrible. Speedtest is a great example, no need for ads. If they had a paid version I would contribute as I always do.
Armando I hope you see this comment. You've taught us how to customize like a boss. I've had Android for a little over two years and couldn't ever imagine how personal the android experience could be when you showed us the Ubuntu setup. I'd love it if you would expand from not only phones and tablets, but also teach us how to theme our PCs and maybe give us more Android themes that you've come up with. Thanks for providing enjoyable content, Daniel. Muchas gracias amigo.
omg this is the EXACT video i needed! i had my nexus for weeks now and just yesterday i was thinking about rooting (most apps require them..but none that really have my attention)
A lot of people dont root because they have no computer but i rooted my CNM TouchPad with 3 apps from blackmart and 4 shared i forget which ones unfortunately but keep trying!!
I love watching your videos. In my opinion, you always tell the truth and express your personal un-biased opinion on things. I know you said you aren't an android fanboy or any other fanboy, but i love how you represent the android community!! :D
Good video man! i was just looking into rooting but didn't see any reason why i should spend the time and you just got me excited to test all these roms and apps :D thanks subbed !!
Thanks a lot Armando. I was actually looking for root benefits today but didnt find any good ones. Luckily i had subscribed to you and found your video. Thanks!
Unfortunately there is not standard method, all rooted phones are done by a developer. The Chinese phones are probably not as popular so developers don't care for them. But it doesn't mean they can't be rooted, you just have to know what your doing in that scenario.
A tip for those on a 720p phone: install ROM Toolbox, get the Roboto font pack from Google's website (a "Roboto download" search should get you the link), extract the "Roboto Light" font, copy to device and install it via the Font Installer. Awesome font for the system, looks great. ROM Toolbox will also backup default font, no worries.
Good video Armando. However please give more examples to people as I have came across to many people who think rooting is evil and it would ruin their device.
Haha thank you so much Armando...i was just getting all hectic with the same flashing a custom rom and rooting my phone...and there you are like always with a positive feed...Thanx man..!!
That Update.tip isnt for restoring the data. THAT function is for flashing Titanium Backup itself. That's what i learned. But in the Batchmode at the bottom there is the part "Recovery-Mode" and there is the feature to create an update.zip with apps and the data.
No. Google removed all ad blockers from the Play Store a while back, but if you search for it you should be able to find the apk file and just install that.
nice video, Optimus G rooted but didn't have AdFree installed. Worth the watch and the like just for that app alone, sir. For those of you with tethering issues, I feel for ya. Native app built into all carrier/ manufacturer UIs here in South Korea.
I prefer AdAway over Adfree, find it does a better job. You gotta update your TWRP bro, Version 2.4.2.1 was just released for the Nexus 4 the other day. Also, have you tried adjusting colours in Franco Kernel app? Not just RGB, but full gamma colour control. Makes a huge difference. Or flash Faux's kernel and use FauxDisplay app. With that app/kernel you can adjust RGB and 27 different gamma grey/gradiant controls. It really fine tunes the colours on the Nexus 4.
hi Armando, nice helpful video. one quick question... can we upgrade the Andriod version (from Honeycomb to ICS or JB) for any device? FYI i've a samsung galaxy tab 6200. can we do it ourself or do you recommend taht we take it to service center as its still under warranty. also, will i lose warranty coverage if i root my devices?
Rooting has different benefits in different countries. Here in Sweden you get tethering without extra cost and for some that's a sole reason to root. My root reason was the benefit of putting my clock alarm on the internal storage since I always slow-charged it from the turned off PC during night and if the phone was using the SD as removable it didn't play the alarm in the morning. Instead it played ANY playable media, sometimes it played a single beep ONCE and sometimes it played a song...
Sounds great having a rooted device, I would love to root my tablet but the warranty lasts a a year and I've only had it for a few months so that'll have to wait.......
Some apps have ads that don't get blocked by Adfree or Adaway

Hi Armando, you are forgetting the security reason, with root if some app want to gain access of your device you have to authorize in the superuser app, if your device as no root itjust exploit that security hole.
yes but if your device is rooted and still on stock rom you can reset your flash counter with triangle away and you get your warranty back. this wont work with custom roms
also why not hide a little switch in the dev options or some other place that u can use to switch between root and non root mode/ unlock and lock your bootloader
Great video as usual! Having said that I'v a rooted SGS1 with CM9. IMHO if you don't mean to change ROM or making very particular things, ROOT isn't realy usefull. The only aspect that can really be interesting for no-geek people is the possibility of cleaning Ads. Titanium is too complex and Fernando.kernel can be even dangerous, because it alters the behavior of the hardware. I'm an advanced user, but honestly i don't find root to be so useful in my experience...
just rooted my S3 and thank god i feel like i have more power over to my phone and thanks for app u show me i just brought my self titanium Pro awesome roots stuffs! (be carefully of rooting guys some can cause damage, just letting you know :).)
Hi how are you going? thanks for your rooting video I think I'm now going to do this to mine!. I'm wanting to understand and also ask more questions about rooting so I'm hoping you might know a good forum I could ask questions and learn about rooting Android devices. Also wondering if there's any other information eg simple to understand information or a book or something. Thanks so much for your time and help it's greatly appreciated.
My ears perked up when you mentioned tethering. Could save me a few bucks. Still scary for me. Too much information crashes my brain, lol! But. If I take it step by step. Just May bee?? And how EXACTLY would these aps be obtained after rooting (same as jailbreaking?) And is this unlocking as well? To be able to switch companies at will? Thanks. I may be able to get a less expensive tablet with this trick. Just don't want to mess up my baby!
Hey armando, where did you get that adfree app?I looked on the market and couldn't find it. Also,I read rooting your phone makes Google wallet no longer work on the phone, thoughts?
Yes I know but people have this misconception that if you have rooted your phone then you are obviously into using pirated apps. Rooting has so many benefits.
This is probably one of the top 3 questions I get asked on TH-cam. Enjoy the video friends.
#Google #Android #Root #Darkside

***** I just got my first android phone a nexus 4 las week and am in love with it don't know how to do any of the stuff you out up on our videos but just admit comes it puts the smack down on my iPhone that am going to junk
I've always wanted to root my phone but I'm afraid I'm going to screw something up. Lol I may give it a try on my old droid x.
What are the other 2 questions?
Your daughter was a freaking beast at that game.
Thanks for coming back! I try to improve my videos one upload at a time.
Thanks Armando. I was dubious about rooting my phone. However, I followed all of the online instructions and TH-cam videos and did it with no problem. I am now exploring the idea of getting rid of bloatware etc to clean up my device and maximize its potential. Thanks.
I stopped watching your videos for 2months. Your viseos sure had significant improvements in quality. Good job!
When I first rooted my evo way back when I realized There's such an upside to rooting. I honestly don't understand why people wouldn't want to. Great video as always.

omg this is the EXACT video i needed! i had my nexus for weeks now and just yesterday i was thinking about rooting (most apps require them..but none that really have my attention)
It's amazing. It's the most full and complete custom Android experience imo.
Thanks, I really needed to see this. First time having a rooted phone and wanted to know the advantages to this.
Solid info and encouragement all in one. Convinced me to root - as much as I love my Galaxy Note 2.0 tablet as is. Thanks!
A lot of people dont root because they have no computer but i rooted my CNM TouchPad with 3 apps from blackmart and 4 shared i forget which ones unfortunately but keep trying!!
Great video. Now all I need from you is a video on how to root!

Loved the video mate! I was wondering, what are the icons you were using at 3:12 I've been looking for those for ages but I can't seem to find them...
I love watching your videos. In my opinion, you always tell the truth and express your personal un-biased opinion on things. I know you said you aren't an android fanboy or any other fanboy, but i love how you represent the android community!! :D

Hey man great job on all of you videos, just a questions what is the icon pack you're using on your nexus 4. Greetings from france.
Thanks a lot Armando. I was actually looking for root benefits today but didnt find any good ones. Luckily i had subscribed to you and found your video. Thanks!
Your daughter is really smart, whats the name of the app that she is using.. Saludos man, buenos videos!
when i first got my Galaxy note on AT&T i rooted it i ran stock for like 15 min , never been stock since, its the best thing about android
Thank you! I rooted my tablet, but I didnt really know why. now i know.
gracias por los tutoriales Armando! keep them coming! saludos desde Costa Rica

Perfect timing Armando... I rooted my nexus yesterday and was thinking now what?.. thanks :)
Nice video as always... Most used and important root app for me is gmd gesture control...
I agree, If i like the app I wlll buy the premium/paid version just to support the developer. Great video!
I've been rooting since htc evo. Thanks for the refresher. You smart as hell.
Great video!rooting my tablet now

Yes I did, glad you guys notice it :)
hey Armando are you doing a setup tour anytime soon? iff not we would love to see it!
Good video Armando. However please give more examples to people as I have came across to many people who think rooting is evil and it would ruin their device.
can you do more tasker videos. i loved ur beginners guide to tasker series
Haha thank you so much Armando...i was just getting all hectic with the same flashing a custom rom and rooting my phone...and there you are like always with a positive feed...Thanx man..!!
i'd really enjoy more videos on root tweaks and root apps.
Double like. I've only recently heard the term "root" and just found out what it means. I think I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for the video. Hey it's time for some tasker instruction and apps.
Thanks brother, the name of that app is called Puzzingo. She turns 2 next month and has been playing it since she was 1 xD
nice video, Optimus G rooted but didn't have AdFree installed. Worth the watch and the like just for that app alone, sir. For those of you with tethering issues, I feel for ya. Native app built into all carrier/ manufacturer UIs here in South Korea.

hi Armando, nice helpful video.

Awww your kid is so sweet
Incredibly helpful. Thanks very much.

TOCAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!....any video you recommend to root note4 on at&t 5.1.1 ?...thanks ! great channel !
Armando nice video, how come you didn't do a two part of rooting?
You have a nexus 4. You don't need to download an app to tether. You have it built in. Carriers can't stop it.
great video! i got my N4 rooted and i really love it! saludos hermano!
Sounds great having a rooted device, I would love to root my tablet but the warranty lasts a a year and I've only had it for a few months so that'll have to wait.......
Of Course. But I think it varies depending on what phone you have.
Some apps have ads that don't get blocked by Adfree or Adaway

great work...!!!
Hey Armondo what is your color setup on your nexus 4 display? The RGB values is what I'm asking. Thanks.
You should do a video about disadvantages

Yes, if you do not tell anyone at the manufacturer it was once rooted.
Is rooting dangerous in any way ? or does it produce any problems?
and can the rooting be removed?
Are you going to get the next nexus 7? or whatever the next one is going to be called?
Hi Armando! You said root allows tethering but my phone isn't rooted and I can use tethering anyway :o
Many of the things that android users root for come on stock iOS and a lot of jailbrake tweaks for iOS have features that do not exist on android
Hi how are you going?
thanks for your rooting video I think I'm now going to do this to mine!.

great video! thanks! you're tempting me to root my Nexus 4 to run that paranoid rom!
What are the cons?
Is rooting an android the same as placing custom firmwares on the PSP?
Great video. Really helpful.
Some people talk about bricking your device possibility when rooting, whats that about?
What about any disadvantages? Does it void your warranty?
Hey armando, where did you get that adfree app?I looked on the market and couldn't find it.
Also,I read rooting your phone makes Google wallet no longer work on the phone, thoughts?
What game was your daughter playing. looks interesting, wanna get it for my daughter.
Thanks alot for all the info, just made the move today. :D
thanx bredda really cleared the air for me, and i like ur presentation yo. (Y)
Yes I know but people have this misconception that if you have rooted your phone then you are obviously into using pirated apps. Rooting has so many benefits.
Root is amazing! I have a motorola defy+.. A phone old than dirt running 4.1.2 Jellybean! :D
Google T-Shirt is fitting the Boss!
Can i install an ios rom on an android device? Possibly like a multiboot system. I wud appreciate a video on that. Thankz man.
Armando, why are you using custom tethering app instead of the stock feature?
