Thank you for this video. This worked very well for me. I have an Android KitKat TV box with just 1 GB of RAM. All my videos were glitchy and choppy. Software animations were laggy. After I installed a Class 10 SD card and ran RamExtender, This upped my RAM up to 4GB. Everything runs smoothly! I turned all the settings back up to 1080P. Netflix and KODI both operate without problems. It was well worth it for me!

so I've followed your video and gave Reohsoft RAM Expander a shot. Its OK... used on a Galaxy S5 with 32gb class 10 Kensington card. Tried on my custom Stock lollipop ROM, which I noticed was already running a swap file of around 1.5gb. Tried 2.5gb swap on my external card and it works. I've noticed my multitasking increase. More status in memory, result! BUT once I disabled all my swap files I noticed that my phone was sooo much smoother to use! This was a great app if not to point out the performance difference using and not using a swap file. For now I'm happy to stick with actual RAM as the benefits of using a swap don't outweigh the downsides for me. Still thumbs up.
Thanks for sharing your experiments. Well s5 has ram which is sufficient for any app, game, multitasking. As mentioned in the video. General use, small apps, moving around the ui barely uses any ram. Ram expander works when a app, game requires extra ram THNAKS again TheAndroidGuy
What if you increase the ram of rooted oneplus 5T And over clock it Then install custom rom The phone will be future proof It will have (estimated) 16 gb ram 2.9 ghz cpu And may be android 8.1.0 or higher

For anyone else having problems with the app crashing when you open it and or your phone is now slower then before... I connected to net via wifi and then finally the app would open. Without internet the app just crashed every time I tried to open it. Then using the swap size slider put it to zero. Then tap the top left button swap/active and let it do it's thing... This will NOT get rid of the swap you made on whatever sd card you used and you will need to reclaim that space by using a Root File Browser. When I just used ES File explorer on my rooted phone I could not find it. Used Root Explorer and on the SD card where I made the swap with the app, there was a file called Swap.swp. It will be the exact size you made it. Delete it. This worked for me. I hope this helps until The Android Guy makes a video on how to undo this.

So I was able to create almost 2gb of extra ram. I used an external micro sd card data to use for that ram. If I were to remove that micro sd card, would I lose my extra 2gb of ram?
you should also let your viewers know that swap is not nearly as fast as physical ram and will kill your micro SD card a lot faster as flash memory has a finite amount of writes.
As mentioned in the video.A class 10 SD card is recommend.Modern generation SD cards that we see there days are 100times more robust that the cards we had earlier. Todays's micro SD Cards can run 24/7 for a decade without having any issues.I use 2 64gb micro sd cards as storage on my pc as cache memory.They are in use 24/7 since 3yrs.Your information is correct but it doesn't applies on modern SD cards that we use on android devices these days.

Sarath Ramakrishna If you want a DSLR for mostly photography then get the D3300 or better the 3200 and invest the saved money on a prime lense ,If are into videos(TH-cam) or want stuff like 1080p in 60i and the swivel display ( trust me swivel display is very useful in videography) then go for the 5200 as picture quality of all 3 of the cameras are same as they share quite same specs.but either way you will need a prime lense as the inbox 18-55mm kit lens is bad.So with d3200/3300 you can save some cash and get a prime lense with 5200 you will get a great cam for both Picts and videos (plus lifesaving swivel display) but will have to wait for a while for the prime lense. Hi,There is an official lollipop update(OTA) for unite 2 which you can install from your device itself.Ram expansion works fine. How ever there are not many good ROMs for unite 2 these says. back in the days when unite 2was new,there were new ROMs every week.Most ROMs are poorly made and add no additional feature .So I would suggest you to stay on the official rom ,if ur on kitkat then install the official lollipop ROM.its awesome goodluck ThenadroidGuy

Pratik Shetty If there is a cyanogenmod Rom for your device, then it will be an unofficial rom based on cyanogenmod rom. Anyway the memory issues is evident on the 4gb models of a106,you can fix it only by flashing kitkat again
Check the comments and the descripton of the rom.bugs will be reported or mentioned there from people who used the ROM or by the developer.can't comment on that as I never used that one.although if its a perfectly replica then it would be a good one.as cyanogenmod ROM is a solid ROM

+Bahaeddine Elleuch In the ram expander app setting,Tap on " Swap Off",Then on delete "old swap file".You can also uninstall the swap file,it will be in the root of your sd card,that is after you initiate "swap off" Hope that helps
I have a 32gb class 4 SanDisk sd card in my phone. However, I also have a 4gb class 1 or 10 sd card. If I do this method using the 4gb one and afterwards I put in the 32gb one will I still have the faster ram from the class 10 sd card?

You can turn on the auto swap option. The app will automatically start the vram,no resetting will be needed

Well they did come up with such a concept of modular phones in which modular parts like cpu,gpu,etc can be swapped and and upgraded but that didnt go anywhere because when it comes to consumer electronics one has to make a device as simple as possible for the end user.Like they could add a lot of tech and a bunch of sensors to a microwave,But that wont work well with end users
And if you want to delete the added ram, how to do it ???
+Bahaeddine Elleuch In the ram expander app setting,Tap on " Swap Off",Then on delete "old swap file".You can also uninstall the swap file,it will be in the root of your sd card,that is after you initiate "swap off"

I have a 32gb class 4 SanDisk sd card in my phone. However, I also have a 4gb class 1 or 10 sd card. If I do this method using the 4gb one and afterwards I put in the 32gb one will I still have the faster ram from the class 10 sd card?

Practically-Data transfer rates via usb otg is much much slower than direct sd.It will work but i cant comment on the speed and perfomance.Plus You will need to tape the pen drive on to the back of your device for the long run
