“As a songwriter you’re supposed to feel pain intensely” but “as a celebrity youre supposed to put up these emotional walls and block out negative things said about you” very well said taylor
@@bernicehccheung yeah because you’re supposed to block out negative things people say about you but realistically you’re still going to see it and think about it
Who told you such nonsense that songwriters must endure pain as a prerequisite for songwriting! Life is tough for everyone, we all have shortcomings, demons and good/bad experiences, and guess what, we have to deal with them towards achieving our own success.
Fearne Cotton is one of the best interviewers ever. She's so respectful, so informed, and so interested in what the artist's have to say. She's never done a bad interview with leading questions or trying to attack the artist. Love her.
+Robbie Baker I also love the one with Alan Carr which is completely different and very funny but she is also very relaxed and very much herself. And he looks like he is enjoy himself too. She isn't up herself, which so many of the stars he interviews will be..
who’s watching this now that taylor is 34 almost turning 35?!? i have been a fan since debut and im incredibly proud of how far she’s comes. she my entire inspiration and she does still get to perform on stage 152 shows 3 1/2 hours long!! truly the most amazing woman
❤ Watching this the night before Thanksgiving in 2024. Hearing her answer that question about where she wants to be inn 10 years I can running to the comments to see who else is listening now. ❤
Taylor speaks so well. She takes her time and is really aware of herself and is careful about what she's saying. I love hearing her talk. Great questions from Fearne. She doesn't even need notes.
Am I the only one who absolutely loves this interviewer? I feel more like I'm listening in on a conversation between two friends rather than watching an interview.
Tom Rake Bluer I don’t reflect on anything she does. I know what her music stands for. There are other artists I can relate to more. and she keeps saying that fact that when she writes about her relationships it’s sexist compared to if a guy writes about his relationships that’s where she’s wrong. It’s make her look like any guy will date her and she practically bashes them or shades them on live tv or in her music. She said her song for blank space was actually a joke well it’s says a lot for being a joke.
Sarah Burkett imagine being so obsessed with Taylor Swift like you are in a bunch of her videos. Can’t wait for you to type this is a public forum and you can say whatever you want like all those other long fight chains you’re always trying to create.
There need to be more views on this video because this interview is one of the best I have ever seen! The interviewer came well prepared and seemed like she was genuinely interested in what Taylor had to say. Nothing fake about it and just so real, which made it feel like more of a conversation than a professional interview.
5:45 My jaw dropping in 2020 when I hear Taylor y’all about the “tightrope” of how she’s able to relate her songwriter and celebrity parts of herself bcz SHES A MIRRORBALLLLLL
one of the best interview I heard so far with Taylor. I would say she is the best interviewer. Respected for the artist who she is. The whole interview flows like a calm river go to the sea. No throwing stones any kind, just Nice. :)
This is by far the best interview done. Kudos to the interviewer for asking all the right questions, it's all very raw and genuine that I didn't want it to end. I could watch this forever!
My all time favourite taylor interview it was eloquent and tasteful and professional and I really got an insight to her. It felt being a fly on the wall between two mates conversation
Taylor has a great way with words. I love listening to her. She could release a podcast series of her just talking about life and all and id listen to her all day
I really enjoyed every single minute of the video. I absolutely am in love with the adequate interviewer, who asks interesting stuff and doesn't put Taylor in an awkward position. Like, literally, if you watch interviews nowadays, they all might be very stupid with the same questions and interviewers are so hardly trying to figure out what they don't need to know. Taylor, in her turn, gave amazing answers, she like really has a nice upbringing, manners and she is so grounded. True inspiration here!
This interview was very well done. Best TS interview that I have seen so far. I love that Taylor allows herself to be vulnerable and honest in every interview. She is so real, so unapologetically human, so logical and so down to earth. Fearne did a fabulous job of leading the conversation and asking (seemingly) off the cuff, relevant questions, allowing the conversation to flow so nicely.
Omg, I love interviews like that where the interviewers get Taylor Swift to say such personal and deep thoughts about her life rather than just ask about rumors. I really love the way Taylor thinks and not a day goes by that I don't get inspired by something she says. She is like my mom, always looking at both sides of the coin and trying to make the best out of life and experiences. I'm just speechless. And I'm really really happy to know we have a person so raw and so true to herself in music industry. It's really a great feeling.
I admire Fearne even more after this. She's interviewed some of the best and she's always so calm, collected & also articulate and humorous. Taylor was very relaxed here because of her. We love Swift of course
Taylor is so inspirational that I am really gonna listen to her advise. I'm not gonna plan my life and I'm gonna go with the flow. Btw, this is probably the best interview I saw cause it really looks like their having a conversation n enjoying their time together. It doesn't look like their having an interview. I also love how Taylor talks about her friends like she wants to. Oh how I love Taylor so much and how I'm dying to see her and tell her how I feel...
Sorry Taylor. But, here it is 10 years later and you’re now 34. Not only are you on stage, but you are breaking all kinds of records with the biggest tour ever.
when she says she's never able be happy and about being happy and write happy love songs... and now she came out with Lover where she found true love.. cries!!!!
This interview is like watching 2 friends having a normal conversation..definitely my favourite taylor's interview..she looks relax and calm..i applaud the interviewer.
I appreciate great interviewers that acknowledge every thing the artist is saying and also knows exactly what to ask while still having a good conversation. It's interviews like this where the questions are meaningful and new and engaging when the artist actually likes to speak up.
This interview was so beautiful, fun and just really good. I will always admire how honest, down to earth, wise and how her flaws make her look even more perfect because she learns from them. I love Taylor so much
It doesnt really matter if she plays country music or pop shes an amazing singer and song writer and no matter what kind of music she writes i will always love her no matter what people say just wish i could meet her. Taylor Swift will always be number 1 to me and many other people.
She seems very genuine and intelligent. Fearne did an amazing job as well, I've always loved her on BBC. Hoping to see more intimate interviews like this in the Reputation era
I have watched this interview so many times (it's 2020 now) hehe. And every time I feel so inspired. Taylor is a magical, beautiful person and at the same time the most chilled normal person too. Also a good example of a hard working person who had amazing parents ❤️
Wow... I watched this and first thing I thought was... That was the best interview I have ever heard... Then to look at the comments and see that others had the same reaction is very telling. Wonderful to see that interviewing in itself is still an art form practiced by very few in the industry and shown so beautifully here. This couldn't be achieved without both parties who in themselves are amazing artists. Congrats!
Really liked this interviewer, she didn’t seem to obsess over who Tay’s songs were written about for once and it was just an all around great interview.
I really hope that Taylor doesn't stop singing at 34 or 35 I love her so much I don't think I could live in a world where you don't here Taylor Swift songs on the radio or run around school wearing a shirt with her face on it.
This is one of the best interview I've seen. A lot of the things she said I feel I needed to hear. She is so great, I love her personality. She's seems like a person I'd love to sit down and have a conversation with if I ever got the chance to.
I'm so glad that this video got recommended to me! I liked the interviewer because her questions were smart and she focused on the art and let us get to know Taylor as a person and get a glimpse of what's inside her mind. Unlike interviewers who focus an her dating life and that kind of stuff. Taylos is a very well spoken person, I feel like she is the kind of person you would get into deep conversation with for hours without feeling time. I still can't believe that people hated her so much at that time because she is such an amazing smart and sweet person. And her music is amazing and beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing this moment that you had with Taylor. You drew things out of her that she might have struggled to articulate without your deliberate wording.
Love the positive comments on this video. I love the fact that she doesn't feel the need to dress down for attention. She's confident in her own talents. I hope she will still be releasing music in ten years' time and still writing and releasing those wonderful songs.
This was the most refreshing interview to listen to. The interviewer actually showed interest in the artist's talent, hard work, interests, and feelings instead of trying to overly pry into their personal life. And in turn, I feel like I've learned more about Taylor-from her own mouth-than ever before. Weird how someone will tend to open up to another person that they feel are truly genuine, huh? Bravo, Fearne!
I wonder what Taylor would think about this interview after everything she's been through now. Especially the comment about not being able to write love song while being happy. This is so surreal now.
In ten years, "I don't know if I'll be on a stage". Let's fast forward to 3,000 takeout coffees later and to the biggest stadium tour you could imagine.
“As a songwriter you’re supposed to feel pain intensely” but “as a celebrity youre supposed to put up these emotional walls and block out negative things said about you” very well said taylor
@abc stv I think she's talking about people's expectations, hence, the use of "you're supposed to"
@@bernicehccheung yeah because you’re supposed to block out negative things people say about you but realistically you’re still going to see it and think about it
That’s how fame ruins artists.

Really really good. And she actually asked interesting questions
thats why I like her music..theres emotion, the lyrics and it makes you wonder and reflect
