    Here’s a pro tip. Before you assume that your lack of fan speed control is a bad switch, remove the knob to make sure it isn’t split and just freewheeling on the shaft. I know a guy that did that and tire is whole dash apart only to realize that he just needed to pop on a new knob.

      I was just trouble shooting mine, and I saw this post, and went out and checked mine, and yeppers, it was cracked! Thanks for reminding me to check the basic's! That could of cost a couple hundred $$ before replaced the entire thing and would of never known it was the knob as the new control panel probably comes with one... Thank you

    Check blower resistor, change it first because its only $8 as opposed to over $100 for a new hvac control system.

    if the fan speed only works on the highest setting then it’s the blower resistor which located below the dash on the passengers side

      My blower only runs on high. Changed the resistor. Didn’t fix it. My first tip should have been that my fan speed selector knob doesn’t affect the fan speed at all. Probably need a new control board.

    I know this is an old Vid, but it is helping so many people. I have the same problem, by my TJ is an 04 - Is it the same switch (part)? All the switches listed are for 2000-2001?

    I just replaced my resistor and it wasn't the problem, so now i'm going to do a radiator flush and replace the switches as you did. I was just wondering if you knew why there is such a range in price for this part? I have found them ranging from $50.00- $275.00 all new......is there one that's better than the other?

    Thanks for the video. Question - my fan only works on high - but have to turn it to low to get it to even work on high. AND my selector switch for heater vs defrost vs vent etc only works on defrost. I replaced the blower motor resistor - and didn’t fix it. Sooo should I just replace the entire panel? Rather than just the on-off switch like you did at first? Best guess? Thanks!

    I have the exact same problem in my jeep... The fan works sometimes and when it worked it's only on 1 speed.
    Probably going to start with the blower motor and the the blower motor actuator. If it doesn't work probably this (maybe the whole assembly)

    • @alexandrelajoie2859
      @alexandrelajoie2859 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RafaelTorres-fy1cf the switch inside (the whole plastic thing with 3 switches) , then it stop working again because the fan motor was clogged..
      It if just work on 1 speed I can bet that it's the switches, try the actuator too (below the dash on passenger side I replaced it as well because it's cheap.

    I know this is an older post, but how did you diagnose that it was the switch instead of the actual blower motor? Bad resistor is easier to diagnose since it will blow full air on 4, but no air is a bit trickier. Thanks!

      @@KyleSVT Thanks for the reply! I have replaced the blower motor 2X and the resister 4X. Might be due for the blower motor again so will try that first. If not, it will be a much harder fix for 2003-2006 TJs as they changed the control switch and they are also hard to find and expensive...so hoping it's the blower motor!

      @@SavvyCris Not sure what you mean, but I've had to replace both multiple times. My blower motor is already making funny noises again and my resistor only works on 3 and 4. Looks like both will need a replacement in the near future. Not sure why these parts are so faulty on the Jeep.
