I would advise anyone struggling with trim to set the craft up on a standard hobby RX and get it flown/ trimmed out manually by adjusting control horns. That way it should be near enough perfect out the box once you get the PH in and youll need to spend less time tweaking it. Remember to have your set-up in though for CofG even if not in use. The rc RX will add negligible weight.
trimming by 'noting the position of control surfaces' and recreating them with subtrim etc looks like a pain in the ass, I'm surprised that a mature system like this doesn't have a servo auto-trim feature like iNav does, where you can do that in flight in just a few seconds
Hello, and thanks for this videos, i got a problem with the pixhawk 2.1, the esc calibration step wont work and went i push the safety switch it wont do anything (the led kept flashing), no message on the Mission Planer screen, i'm trying diferent firmware so far no progress, by the way im using ArduCopter not Arduplane.
Esc calibration seems to be definitely broken in the latest version of arduplane, got the same error on both a pixhawk and an f4 pro: Set param error. Please ensure your version is AC3.3+ Could you do a video on how to fix this or work around it?
Hi, I have been like a dog chasing its tail the past 3 days with a Pixhawk PX4 2.4.8 from Banggoog. I go to calibrate the ESC and get "Set param error. Please ensure your version is AC3.3+" Mission Planner version is 1.3.50 with the firmware ArduPlane V3.8.3 loaded and reloaded a few times. SD formatted then reloaded the firmware. I have tried a Hobby King and BLHeli ESC and i am using a PPM encoder with a Spektrum DX6e Tx & AR610 Rx. The radio calibration works fine similarly all other steps up to the ESC calibration. Manual ESC Calibration does nothing. Seems to be a common enough error looking on the web but no solutions! Cheers!
You'll be running Arduplane (AP) not Arducopter (AC) on this model so the code looking for the pieces in ArduCopter won't find them. Lots of posts on the web but lots are pilots confused as they are trying to setup an APM that won't run Arducopter (AC) v3.3 or later. I'd investigate why the manual ESC calibration won't work.. Hope that helps some. Best of luck!
Thanks for the response! So i got the motor to work after your redirection but only when the ESC is plugged into port 1 or 2 on the MAIN OUT rail. So the roll and pitch can operate the throttle according with ports 1 and 2 as expected. However, when the ESC is plugged into port 3 (ie. Throttle) nothing happens..... Fairly confused about this. I have carried out the whole re-calibration process multiple times, making sure to get the radio done correctly. I have messed around in mission planner with 'rcmap' settings, with the numbers 1/2/3/4 with no luck. Similarly, changed the transmitter servo mapping around, no luck. Side note: I am now using HobbyKings Orange R615X CPPM Receiver. Thanks again.
Hello painless, Can you pls do some thrust tests about motors and motors you personly would recommend and compare these motors with other good motors. And i have another question could you pls tell me what the difference between good and bad esc are? And last but not least what are the pros about the kiss fc compared to other fc`s? I hope youll answer my questions and i really like your videos they are seriously good. Best regards from germany.
+R. K. 1) really depends on the model, size and length of flight wanted. 2) cheap usually means bad 3)See my KISS build for the detail I have.. best of luck!
Fantastic tutorials, Thankyou painless 360. You videos have helped so much as i build my first custom component system for commercial aerial work.
Best of luck with it! Glad the videos helped..
I noticed that Pixhawk Capability the first time I built a quadcopter with a Pixhawk it just seems Smoother. Cheers !
Thumbs-up! Whadda great Series. THX!

+iforce2d agreed, the Vector has a very simple way to do it too..
SERVO_TRIM was available for some time and SERVO_AUTO_TRIM was added in 3.8

These people are in 19 century - I would never buy this brick. The GPS is like a pancake ... absurd!!!
What is it that you use? vector? limited features if you use vector
Honestly what I need is only reliable stabilisation, RTH, and OSD this is what 90% of the FPV pilots need.
Лъчо, братле, Pixhawk е един от най-модерните контролери. Кое те кара да считаш, че е 19век?
