I just finished this game today and it was great ! I loved the humour, visuals, gameplay and level design! Only downside is that some dialogue can drag a bit too long and it’s quite short at around 7 to 8 hrs. I’d love some dlc to this game. The game’s great, but the thing that ruins it is the dialogue that takes 10,000 years to finish. all over some joke that was barely funny to begin with.

This game is amazing! It irritates me to see people jumping on the hate bandwagon, specifically the more toxic parts of the gaming community, all because of a few bad reviews from people who usually have bad gaming takes anyway. I've seen a few people commenting about how the game has "bad writing", but I've not seen any of that in my playthrough. They're just hopping on what they see, rather than playing the game for themselves.
This has easily become one of my favorite games because I’m not being bribed by future content and I’m fully immersed with nothing but a good time with this. Like I saw lennar say it’s like I’m playing a ps2 game
People who relentlessly bash this game is the reason why devs are afraid of doing something different. Too many games that play it too safe and ends up having to little to no personality. Same people who gives this game a bad time are the same people wanting something different and then when someone does bring SOMETHING to the table it gets bashed because it's from a guy who helped make Rick and Morty. It isn't a lazy TV licensed game it's just a guy who has a dev team who makes funny games with a fun factor in them. People forgot why they play games now. People are so caught up in looking for the Citizen Kane of video games. Why? You're only gonna have a cynical outlook of video games when you do. Just look at what you find fun instead of wondering if a game is gonna have godlike writing with gameplay that's like 10 years ahead of our time. It would be NICE to have a game like that but you shouldn't expect every game to have it. Anyways I'm gonna go shoot some aliens while my talking guns yell at me. Lol
Let’s be honest about this game. It’s not worth $60. It’s a solid $20-$30 game. With that being said, it’s a decent game and it’s engaging. Decent game all around and I enjoyed it. I never watched Rick and Morty and was entertained by the humor in this game. Somewhat lacks an endgame and missed opportunities to include extra bounties to keep players engaged. Never had any game breaking bugs on Xbox Series X. I give this game a 7.5 out of 10 or a 3.5 out of 5. Lots of potential for this game.
I watch Pyrocinical wanna die to this game an I know this was a Death Stranding type deal you either love the concepts and or the experience while the others would rather end their lives
I completed this game today and absolutely loved every moment of it. The guns are fantastic with unique dialogue etc with fantastic worlds and a great story. The only downside I had were the glitchy achievements and sometimes difficult times where I would need to restart the checkpoint due to a boss not appearing or disappearing during battle. Overall I recommend not listening to the hate and play this funniest games of 2022.
I had the boss disappearing mid fight too, but the achievement glitch I had was that it gave me "playing card to get" when I was 3 cards short so that was fun.
I loved most of it. PRO TIP IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY, dont form an opinion based on social media. Play the game blind and have fun. I did, my friends did.
I really loved the game. Sure, it wasn't particularly funny, but the occasional comments from the guns could make me smile. It's a good game to enjoy while turning your brain off, and reminds me of doom, a game I also really enjoyed.
The game is great, but uts the price as well that people review the game for. 60 is too much for this game in terms of how much gameplay there is. At most this game should be 40 Maybe 30. You get roughly 10 hours of gameplay, and pretty much no replayability. Definitely not a 60 dollar game
@@Voiy Yes, but that's if you have game pass, or if you're even aware of game pas in the first place. A review for the Actual price of the game is required. Since you know, there will be people paying to play it. Now regarding the game, I enjoyed the game a lot, but I definitely overpaid. It had a good story, was enjoyable with all the banter, but there are 3 key factors that I myself can see that are the issues, especially regarding the price of the game. 1. The replay ability. Sure, you can go around shooting random grunts after the game ends, but other than that there is no endgame, there is also no replay ability in the game, you play it once and you are pretty much done. 2. The story. The story, while fine also ends basically on a cliff hanger. You beat the final boss, and then are given the credits, which go to the main menu. Literally no ending in the story. Then for the odd few people that select "Continue game" after beating it, you are finally given dialogue that signifies that the game has ended, THEN you have to find a secret ending on a separate location the "human Haven" location to get an actual sign of the ending of the game with a secret dialogue and secret sequence which is hidden from most players, since the game ejects you to the main menu. Now what happens with this secret ending? Its a teaser for the actual villain of the game to be in a sequel or DLC. LIKE WHAT? This is a 60 dollar game! and you removed the actual ending. 3. The length. The game is about 10~ hours long for probably most people. What you get out of that is a semi complete story - about half of it, you don't get an actual ending, there is roughly no replay ability, and the true "ending" scene is only shown to you AFTER you get booted from the game into the main menu, then you have to reload the game save to continue(Very poor design decision) to find the secret ending that ends saying you need to wait for the sequel. There are definitely reasons to rate the game poorly based on what little I have already said about it.

Its not that I just find it horribly unfunny, teetering over the point of "cringe," but the gameplay just isn't good enough to get me past Justin's horrible voice constantly yapping in my ear. Even after muting the gun it's still just too predictable in terms of the writing and events that the only thing left to keep me engaged is the gameplay. The gameplay is nothing short of serviceable, but I'd rather play anything else that's actually engaging, like Borderlands.
Gorgeous and fun game, but the CONSTANT need to say something or comment on everything in the world is just WAY too much. I don't think bad reviews are from people "above Justin Roilands humor" because I sat through every single improvised TV ad and laughed. And there are tons of jokes in this game that made me crack up. It's a matter of you getting pelted with joke after joke by EVERYONE. The game clearly doesn't want or try to take itself seriously but at some points, it needs to just relax and allow you to enjoy what's going on around you whether it be combat or sightseeing but you're always being interrupted by something it seems. Whether it be an enemy saying something goofy or your suit getting a text message from the space mayor asking for your vote. Occasionally, it gets to be too much. I genuinely got a headache at the start of the game because of Justin's Morty voice. It's one of the two voices he can do, and he uses it like crazy, not adding to it or trying to make it distinguishable. It's just joke after joke. My best comparison when it comes to writing characters, jokes, and dialogues for games is Borderlands 2 because I think it's almost perfect writing wise. The game KNOWS when to be funny and hit you with a joke or random encounter or dumb character. It knows how and when to make you laugh but also how and when to let you enjoy the beauty of the area you're in or just the combat. I'm not saying this game has to be a carbon copy of Borderlands 2, but this game needed some self-awareness, not as in "uh oh, Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, we got a reused pipe sequence", but as in shutting up and letting the player PLAY. High on Life has some gorgeous scenery and character designs and some hilarious jokes, but it also has so much filler and fat that it may have contributed to its low scores. Probably not IGN though, they have nothing but bad takes. 85% 8.5/10
The Pelican Reference cracked me up :D best review out there by far
