In Finland we have this thing called Saabism which they say is a sickness and now that Saabs are no longer manufactured a religion. 😜👍🏻 From fellow enthusiast to another: greetings from Finland!
Saab started producing the new Saab's in Sweden again in 2018 at the original plant. Flex fuel and battery 9-3's for the China and European markets last time I checked. They had a new financial backer from China and a large order of cars to produce with possible plans to eventually return to the US. Hoping all goes well.
I have 2 saabs and one has premium leather. If it is premium leather there should be a "Saab premium leather" badge on the side of headrest. The premium leather has very little shine to it and it is very soft. Also it has smooth surface without the little "bumps".
They look like premium leather seats with double stitching. I recently bought an Anniversary 2007 9-3. Would you believe it, over 12 years old and only 13200 miles on the clock. Regularly serviced, immaculate condition! It was a choice against an Aero 9-3, 11 years old, 13500 miles but with cream leather seats. They tend to easily become dirty with use. My previous Aero was T boned and totalled, gutted. Surprised to fall lucky, especially after having the Anniversary Stage 1 remapped. Try using a 13mm ratchet spanner for the back seats. Love the videos here in Manchester, England
The back seats are just locked in with springs, as you can see. You just have to use like a flat head and press the black cap in towards the seat, and then you can lift the seat straight up. You have to take out the left smaller part of the seat first and then the right larger part, because of how they are connected in the middle
In the UK you can't even go on the scrap yards any more as the nanny state decided it was health and safety crazy your junk yards are cleaner than the UK
Good haul! I almost swapped my anniversary seats in my DD 08 Aero. On a side note I cannot believe that CIM is still in that car. The key must have been missing.
Bro.. A couple of months ago, I bought the set of anniversary seats, in perfect condition. the backrest is released under pressure from a spring, it is necessary to press the sheet where the final nut is at the ends. I hope you can return for them... I can help you, in video, or image, if you wish
Great videos which I always enjoy. I work in a junk yard in the UK. ...and so many saab coming in recently....2 gen 2 93 ragtops A 95 airflow.....2 gen one 93 turbos......my project gets lots of Cool freebies....including big brake conversion from vauxhall signum v6 cdti. Love these informative clear videos from you....thank you. Lastly....noticed the lacquer peel on the bonnet of the saab That gorgeous Arizona sun took its toll on that Swedish paintwork Is that lack of wax or did the engine maybe need a couple of discreet vents?
Premium leather can be recognized by the "extra" patches in both side bolsters. The seats in this video are not premium leather and Anniversary seats never came in premium leather option.
you need some "Gear wrench" ratcheting wenches!!!!---priceless in the salvage yard!!! --Also, Have you considered replacing those delicate glove box parts with something aftermarket.. (I recently bought a 2004 9-3, as I recall, both mine are good, but should they break, I work in a metal fabrication shop (builds Fire Trucks) with a water jet and would (re-pop) a set from aluminum or stainless steel, etc to fix them for "good".. :) not sure if they were all the same over the years.. Honestly I am newer to SAAB cars when I bought my 01 9-5 Aero last year---LOVE IT!!! So I bought the 04 9-3 with broken timing chain for $900.00 delivered to me from 75 miles away..--About to buy another 01 9-5 if all goes well (same color as my current 9-5--Black--for $500, running..).. Kudos to you my friend!
I found a 2006 saab 9-3 2.0t Vector and i wanted to take the steering wheel off but didnt know how nor had the tools any clue how to take that off?? Also had real nice seats tan and black with it
Was thinking the same thing... Also the rear seat backs have a spring loaded ring/disk you just push to the side near the 13mm. No need to unscrew the bolt. 10 min. Job 👌
Next time just go up to the yard house and ask if you can use their bench grinder to grind your wrench. Easier to get another wrench than leave the seats
Grab a set of closed-end ratcheting wrenches. Perfect for tight quarters like those seat bolts. www.harborfreight.com/metric-flex-head-combination-ratcheting-wrench-set-5-pc-60592.html?cid=paid_google|||60592&gclid=CjwKCAiA1rPyBRAREiwA1UIy8OGnZnSAHqJ2GvLMlyiocxtZ6XPWaBbjMVa5Yx7BQRSGG4QkzwhWcBoCxNkQAvD_BwE

@@TheIntriguingii The company you are referring to is Nevs and it has little to do with Saab.
guess im sick then XD
@@laddtryck Yes you are, but no worries! This is typically a sickness people don't want to be cured.
Sweet find! Every 9-3 2.0T I’ve had has had those anniversary seats, they’re so much better then even the Aero seats.
they're great!
Found some for my 2005 Aero convertible - do you think worth fitting ?

thank you for the info; I'll have to check out the headrests then to see

Get the doorcards aswell, they are unique to the anniversary with black instead of grey leather. Greetings from Sweden 🙂
yes, i passed on them because they were a bit beat up as i stated in the video!
Hope to see what's coming next soon !
:)
Those are the seats I have in my 07 convertible AE. Awesome seats.
nice!
Love adventures in the PnP. Such cool parts that you can find out there!
yes!
In the UK you can't even go on the scrap yards any more as the nanny state decided it was health and safety crazy your junk yards are cleaner than the UK
wow...that's annoying :(
I have an 07 Anniversary. My drivers seat has a very small rip in it but other than that they're mint. I love them
nice!
The rear seats pull out in the middle with a spring loaded deal it’s hard to explain you have to pry it to one side and twist the seat out
thanks! got it sorted!
Bring your own barrow for parts, love it!
:)
the SAAB 9-5 is a highway locomotive, was out driving mine today and it is soo good on the road in high speeds
lol nice!
Good haul! I almost swapped my anniversary seats in my DD 08 Aero. On a side note I cannot believe that CIM is still in that car. The key must have been missing.
yeah, it's gone now lol

wow nice! and yes, the paint has had it's fair share of beating from the AZ sun
good find!!! I thought all anniversary seats were premium leather...could be wrong tho lol. Always enjoy your vids man

thanks for the info ^ i wasn't sure
Hi! Thanks for video! I own 9-3 2007 1,9TID which is very common for Europe. How can You tell which Saab is Anniversary edition?

Here's how you remove the steering wheel: th-cam.com/video/tHvPfWF1SV0/w-d-xo.html
Next time slide the seat forward, there are 2 t50 screws and than you remove the whole seat with rails
Yes, probably should've tried that lol
Was thinking the same thing...

10 min. Job 👌
I recently just sold a 2008 6 speed 9-3 aero that had the rare b50 leather interior..should’ve swapped out into my other saab...
:(
My brother took the door panels and ignition coils lmao 😂
lolol, i met him yesterday. good guy!
Next time just go up to the yard house and ask if you can use their bench grinder to grind your wrench. Easier to get another wrench than leave the seats
thanks for the idea!
how do you have a swedish plate on your TurboX? love your vids man keep it up, you're like the chrisfix of saabs haha
lol! It was sent to me from a subscriber in sweden
Interesting, my Anniversary 9-3 has the same bolster tear. Hasn’t gotten any worse in 6 years either.
so does my TX, haha. Must just be a common thing
Luckey you. There are no junk yards with in 100 mile radius of me that even have Saab's
Same for me I cannot find any og9-3 or ng900 cars around me. So agonizing.
Wow :(
Dude if you ever see a set of tx rims cop them and I'll buy them from you
lol, won't ever find those in a junkyard, but don't worry, i will keep my eyes peeled
I hate you so much, I want those seats so bad lol. Awesome find.
hehe :)
WIS said ... first the 40% part must be removed to remove the 60% part...
correct
Go get yourself some VLR from mothers to clean the leather seats an a horse hair brush an they will come out mint....ps i love u
thanks for the advice homie.
I would take the steering wheel out of that anniversary, ima go to the junkyard nesr me and see what they have again

I never understood the obsession with such unreliable vehicles 🤔
Not very unreliablw tbh, like most cars they have some common issues 🙂
Begone heathen...
