    Her specutacular performance with exquisite skill and breathtaking technique and splendid attire is beyond description , and comfortable to the ear and the mind
    This is a requiem from Mussorgsky's deep love and sorrow for his late friend .
    The regretful thought of genius Mussorgsky who has gone through an unfortunate life is incalculable to me .
    Without Mussorgsky and Ravel and their great performers ,
    the classical music world would have been very lonely and insipid , and the enjoyment and pleasures of the classical music would have been very less
    I'm just impressed by listening to his masterpiece on her performance with incomparable talent .

      She made obvious mistakes in the first 2 sections. Now, she can play this piece and I can't, but you can't call her performance incomparable.
      She is much better at Chopin!

    She played at my city today. She finished her programme with this piece. She played like here. But one thing is listen to her in you tube and is very different listened to her live. Yes, maybe is not perfect, so? All the audience get crazy clapping her. Sometimes beauty doesn't mean an accurate performance. Bravo, Val, you are a pro.

    What is this lady? Is she from our world? Or is she an alien, or what.!? She is a unique phenomenon in the world of pianists, have never seen or heard anything like this before.!! I've been listening, and watching for over 50 years to the top and greatest pianists of the twentieth century, but I've never seen or heard anything like this.!! She's capable to generate sounds from the piano, never heard it from any pianist before ..!! Is she a human like us ..!? I'm really feeling lucky that I've lived to enjoy this incredible magnificent pianist .!!! ,,, Thank you a million, for the upload.

      I saw her performing live in a piano festival in my city, just some meters from me. It was unforgettable! She played this piece, also "hungarian rhapsody No 2" (by Liszt), "heroic Polonaise op. 53" A flat major (by Chopin), "moonlight sonata op. 27" (by Beethoven), and other pieces I don't remember now.

    Many people think the piano version is a transcription of the orchestral version. It's the opposite. Written for the piano, and superbly transcribed to orchestra by Ravel.

    It is difficult to enjoy the beauty of paintings at the museum when one is in a hurry and move at a high pace. What is even more frustrating to hear is the interpretation of the great gate of Kiev particularly from 33:10 . Why does she put too much weight on the speed and showing off her prowess to play very fast ???? Not to mention that at such a high speed, she hit a number of unwritten notes. The greatness of the great gate Kiev is lost.

  • @dwhits90
    @dwhits90 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Ms. Lisitsa takes a lot of freedom with the music that I didn't think was appropriate. Many omissions/additions occurred throughout the piece that I don't feel is respectful of the composer's intentions. She also made many preventable errors at critical moments that really detracted from the performance.

    This was not my favorite interpretation of these pieces, which is fine. In my opinion, these pieces demand to be played in the sense of their title, and not like any other piece that has a generic name only with knowledge and intuition. A good example for this is the Gnomus. It just doesn't sound like a dwarf to me.
    Anyways, well done!
