Thank you Master Yang, an illuminating session again. Could you please explain in terms of modern anatomy and biomechanics what is the kua and its movements in internal arts? Is/are there precise definition(s) for the kua?

I have been practicing Tai Chi for a few years. I have a question for which I have not ever received a satisfactory ( to my limited knowledge) answer. When you get into a pose, (let's say Brush Knee) how long do you hold before transitioning? I heard it's is like feeling of a coiled spring, ready to uncoil. Another -- follow the breath. Any opinions on this, Shi Fu Yang? Respectfully Dr. Mischa.

Do you think culture utopianism is also present in MTC even after the efforts of Mao to remove it from its Classical origins?
Also, I find that in classical chinesse medecine (and also from what I get from martial arts treatise that exist in a language I can read), lots of concepts are based upon and explained by mythic images (like snake crane here, or Kunlun mountains and mythic great floods and so on for CCM) that explains metaphorically the ideas which are very concrete but their explanations isn’t…
Is my parallel between my understanding of CCM and martial a valid one?

I always enjoy the q and a. Can you discuss " standing stake" , or " pole standing"? They say, ( I've was told long time ago) that that's the most important exercise to do for internal, but they never say why. Can you discuss all the results that come from "Standing Stake,"

    Just two questions.
    1) Do you know anything about star walking 步罡踏斗
Its rare from what little I know but its still practiced in some overseas Chinese communities, like in Malaysia. I think Taiwan as well??
    2) I heard that the cauldron of the body needs to be created and is the real tan tien. Is this true?

Dear shifu good evening and thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I would like to ask if Ding Kua is something like anterior pelvic tilt. If so, how is possible to use it in fa jin movements and simultaneously extending our ming men or lower back backwards (which is something you have already mention if I remember well)? Would it be possible to demonstrate different placements of the hips (sinking, extending e.t.c.) while training xing yi?
    Thank you in advance
