Tons of respect for Matt calling out these arrogant players. Much respect!
matt confronting a double-murderer over leaving his laundry bag out on the floor and fighting him is wild. He said aaron was a chameleon and turned on the charm when kraft was around.....well, he was living a double life as a homothug so he had a lot of practice acting straight
My younger brother was a walk on at UF who had made the scout team at Florida when Hernandez was there. I'll never forget what he said when my fave NFL team, Miami Dolphins, passed on him in the draft. I called him and said Damn the Dolphins passed on him, I was hoping they'd take him. He said, trust me, you guys don't want him, He's a bad dude!
That's all he said? Lol.. I was expecting something much worse. It was no secret by then. He was already getting in trouble at Florida.
I would have still liked to have him. Before he was arrested he was awesome and could have helped them
@@TalkingThrones I hadn't heard anything nor had most people at that time, and I followed the Gators pretty closely...all I knew was he looked like superman on the field.

Not sure how you don't know him, but you should watch the recent interview he did on Julian Edelman's podcast Games with Names. One of the best!! And he's hysterical and soooo honest lol

Aaron Hernandez insider stories will never bore me
Man i wish he was still playing...he was a beast
When all the Aaron Hernandez news was just breaking I remember reporters trying to get comments from players but getting a bunch of “No comments “ or “I’m shocked” until a reporter stuck a microphone in Matt’s face asking about the news on Aaron’s arrest…
Matt said something along the lines of “ We’ve been told not to talk about this yet but I will say that Aaron Hernandez is the antithesis of everything I’m about, how I approach football & how I live my life”….
It was the way he said. You just knew he never liked him & wasn’t surprised one bit by the news.

I will forever be grateful for Brian Cox coming to the Patriots. That dude brought a toughness and attitude to the Patriots defense that they didn't have. Bruski and Vrabel kept the culture going after Brian retired. Brian Cox and Drew Bledsoe started the turn around Brady and BB took the team to a world class organization.
He’s much overlook as part of patriots dynasty. He set the tone from day one
I agree
Can’t use the word “class” when it comes to Bill
You forgot Rodney Harrison! He and Brian are Western Illinois alums. I wish they had played together but Brian was gone when Rodney got there.
@@4uFridayBrian was critical to “starting” it all, but Rodney is the reason why they lasted long enough to become a “dynasty”. The Pats sharply declined after that first Super Bowl & Rodney kept them from being a flash in the pan.
Before the fanboys come at me, no. Brady did not do this. Brady *helped*, but Brady did not yet command that kind of influence in the locker room
Matt light a man’s man
You forgot the no Diddy
How exactly?
Hernandez was told by the Pats that, like all players, he needed to "execute." But he mistakenly applied that directive against people he thought had wronged him.
See how the English language can really mess things up . Along time ago John Mc Kay head coach of TB Bucs was asked what he thought about the execution of his offense he said I'm in favor of it
@@mitchellpawsey8992 Speaking of the English language, "along time ago" or "a long time ago"? Can you guess which one one is correct in this case?

Damn!!! This kind of insight into Hernandez - I'll admit - shocked the shit outta me. I shouldn't be shocked because of all that went down but still, it sucks hearing that not only he threw his career and life into a burning shit can but the people who knew Hernandez in that Netflix documentary weren't full of it either. Sad, just sad.
Anyone else see that documentary on Aaron Hernandez? There's a lot corroborating and backing up everything Light is saying here.
Matt Light, a NE legend, thanks for taking the time out for this great video. I just subscribed and hit the bell 🔔 great video guys! Awesome.
Facts 🔥💯💯
Right. Right.
It’s obvious why Hernandez got the leash he did. On the field there weren’t many TE’s that had the ability Hernandez had. He really was a do it all TE, Bill likely thought he was a perfect fit for the double TE schemes he wanted to run.
Maybe, but you don't send the "hypocrite" message to the rest of the team. And statements made by some of these coaches and team owners/execs that "character matters" looks silly when this kind of stuff is overlooked or ignored. I would not be shocked if Bill heard bad stuff about Aaron. Many of these teams have people whose job is to see what players are doing off the field.
On the field, Bellicheck was right. No denying he and Gronk together were unstoppable.
@@georgeklimes7604watching the episode now after hearing this interview. The scene were Kraft is talking to Bellicheck on the practice field after giving Hernandez the 5-year, $40M is very interesting. Kraft is saying how impressed he is with Aaron, how he has such a big heart and Aaron told him knows he has to be careful with the people around him. Bill is just standing there with a look on his face like he can’t believe Kraft fell for the bs and just says “okay.”
@@A-A-Ron17 Yeah, it sounds like Kraft was clueless and gullible. Still, though, by treating Aaron differently, it sent a bad messsage to the rest of the team.
Yup good on bill
As a Dolphins fan but 🚫 t a Crowder fan, I remember when Hernandez's college buddy Channing Crowder became a Miami Dolphin and instigated a fight with Matt Licht during a game and Matt Licht beat the stuffing out of Crowder as Crowder ended up fighting to get loose and ran for his life.

When people talk about Hernandez I always get the sense somebody wants Belichick or Kraft or Brady to somehow be directly guilty for Hernandez even though it simply isn’t there
This is absolutely correct. Red flags are usually only red flags in retrospect. Everybody has their own shit going on (on top of the fact that playing in the NFL is a busy, stressful job). Nobody was sitting around analyzing Aaron’s every move. They knew he had “problems” before, but half the league has “problems.”

Nobody is saying it but Hernandez was a great player who would have made the Hall of Fame. I've never seen a tight end with his skill set. The guy was unstoppable.

The guy was already a murderer by the time he was a Patriot, and guaranteed was weighing heavy on his mind, knowing the long law of the law would get him.
A follow up question would’ve been great like why do you think Patrick Mahomes is a bad leader? Travis Kelce is definitely had his little issues in his early career I could see how you could say he has a different type of leadership they could rub you the wrong way I’m not saying I agree but I can see where you’re coming from but Patrick Mahomes on the other hand come on really? In fact name another active quarterback in the league who is outright a better leader there might be someone that’s just as good leader but I don’t see anybody’s head and shoulders above him right now playing the quarterback position you tell me?
Real leaders don't have voices that sound like their balls haven't yet dropped.
Light just said that Mahomes and Kelce aren't leaders, yet the hosts don't follow up on that??!
No shit!. The only thing we should've heard after that is Light explaining that comment in detail.
I thought the exact same thing. Wtf. Matt was pretty vague about Hernandez too. Pretty awful interview overall imo.

That full chapter they did on Aaron was crazy. Good doc.Im surprised they didn't talk about the detailed bisexual allegations like the last doc i think Netflix did on Aaron.
Because they’re just that - allegations
@@weeshirley5934 Did u watch that doc or even read his wiki page? He left 3 suicide notes in which one of them he confessed being bisexual. His HS QB said they secretly dated, his gf at UF said he admitted to being bisexual, his mom said he would constantly call her and say he was mad that he was attractive to men which was confirmed on recorded prison calls. The only thing sounds like allegatons is Odin Lloyd threaten to expose him being bisexual after an argument they got in and that's y he killed him. Both dudes are dead so we can't confirm that.
Right
On the surveys we have to remember there are players who have an axe to grind because they either felt like they didn’t play a big enough part in the Super Bowl victory, that they were underpaid, which was often an issue with the patriots, where they know they won’t be there next season, so they take out frustrations through the survey.
WHY AREN'T MAHOMES AND MR. SWIFT NOT GOOD LEADERS, is the question that should have been asked at 10:12? The akward silence said everyone in that booth was hoping that the other guy was going to ask it.
4:50......He was only 6ft 2in 240lbs as TE in the NFL. Thats small for the NFL and Arron took on contact with the crown of his head so i assume he was always hurt and Light confirmed it.
