you can talk about the performer trainings and rules, character integrity, the difficult and long hours you had to push through because you needed to keep the show alive, the 4 keys, different aspects of being a performer, even how you still had to keep performing while being a character attendant helper on mod duty. When I think of theatre, I think of the rehearsal process, how the show must go on, how we want the audience to believe the story we want to tell. Hope that helps!!!
I feel you. I hurt my back working food and wine. I had to be on light duty for two weeks. No rollarcoasters for that long. I was so happy to be back in culinary when my back healed
when i did my program gall 2015, as custodial i was cleaning a restroom and got poke by a needle on the baby changing table.i did get to meet the vp of the parks and got 2 easy days.
Its so true though.. when you see guests at their happiest when you're a performer. I worked in Guest Services/Admissions and thats when you see guests AT THEIR WORST!
I know this was a long time ago... but if you do it again while in Grad school you could maybe talk about the importance of staying in character the whole time. Because in theatre it's really important to (be the character). (You could explain how method acting could help with this job and in theatre too)... you make great videos!
I love your videos, I understand how some people feel about character integrity, I use to feel that way but I like the way you talk about your experience and it helps to see the backstage side and see what it's really like to be in the DCP, it helps for those who are considering signing up and those who want to see what it's like.
It's different for WDW and DLR, but for World this last time the start dates were 8/8, 8/15, 8/22, and 9/6 and they all ended January 5th. It's slightly different each year and then Disneyland's program dates are different entirely. disneyprogramsblog.com/about/disney-college-program/ has all the info :)
Hope Smart Me and 2 of my roommates did it during the first semester of our junior years. I personally really liked doing it at that time because after 2 years of college I really needed the break. the college program was the perfect amount of time to where I felt like I did get enough time off of school and enough time at Disney, and it energized me to get this last part of school finished. it honestly just depends on the requirements for your school on which time is best! one of my roommates was a senior and two did it the first semester of their sophomore years. some people do it the semester after they graduate too! That's a really common option that works great if the program doesn't fit in with your graduation plan. :)
I was in Disney World in June 2016. Where you working there at that time? Just cause you said you attended Baymax and he was a character I met and I full on ran and cuddled him. The picture I gotwith him has been my lock screen on my phone ever since
that thumbnail photo of you looks so sad it makes me want to cry. #sadpuppydogface #sadpanda. Have you been to Disneyland in California? I would like to think that Florida's DisneyWorld is probably more appealing since it's 50x the size and there's way more attractions, but my family was raised on OG Disneyland. In fact I have a grandmother who has been to Disneyland at least once a year since it opened back in 1955. This same Grandma also rode one of the old train rides with Walt Disney himself.
I was so sad! I spent my birthday at health services instead of doing one of my favorite shifts :( Wow! That's so cool about your grandma! I've been to Disneyland 4x, and I hope to go again soon!
I'm so sorry that you had to waste part of your birthday in health services Olivia. That's no way to celebrate what should be one of the happiest days of the year for you. I might be going to Disneyland again in the Fall sometime around November this year. Wish I could go more often but I live so far away in a small little place about an hour or so away from Sacramento. It would be so cool to meet you next time you are at Disneyland.

That definitely helps! I'll probably integrate a few of those into my paper!
Enjoy you last couple of weeks Olivia! It's been great to watch your experience ❤️
Thanks Mikayla!
I love your channel and your Disney videos! You are the only Disney TH-camr I watch💙
Aw thank you so much!

Oh no! :( I'm sorry! Injuries are rough for sure!
You could definitely talk about the importance of character integrity for your paper without going into specifics (because that keeps the integrity)
Good idea!

How long is the Fall Program?

Olivia_Simone Thank you! Just two more question, what year in college did you do DCP? What year do you recommend?

No, she started in Aug 2016
What characters were u super close with?
I know she was friends with Cinderella and Donald. Not sure who else.
I thought for sure you were friends with Tinkerbell, and I was wrong.
