In the video you mentioned that you would have a link in the description for each numbered cartridge. I don't see those links. Could you post them please? Thanks!
And believe it or not mine is still different. Mine is similar to #3, but is much longer. Danze single shower handle. My goal is to replace the handle with a new black handle without replacing the valve, but seems this cartridge is very hard to find handles that work with it? Curious if I can change the cartridge for the one that comes with a new shower handle and of course leaving the valve alone? Help & extra links appreciated!
I just replaced one of my cartridges in my dual handle shower and now my water won’t cut off. What did I do wrong? Are the springs necessary? I noticed one of mine were missing out of the pack. If the spring wasn’t installed could that be the issue?
I have cartridge #1 but how do you get the inner portion of the cartridge out since it is two pieces? The inner portion is stuck and I am worried to damage the housing getting it out.
Thank you so much for helping me identify which cartridge I have as there was no name on it and I had great difficulty finding one. Turns out I had the exact same one you called premier.
I'm helping a relative that that already retiled her shower and now needs a matt black trim kit to fit her existing valve. I haven't removed the cartridge but it appears to be either number 4 or number 5. My question is; do you carry trim kits that will fit that long square stem type valve?
The cartridge I am trying to replace looks like the 10321 Danco BUT ours has two + instead of 2 Os on the back... (by blue 3-part seal). Does that make it a different model?
I am trying so hard to do this project myself. I bought this house in the guest bathroom there is a delta monitor shower set, Before I start pulling apart everything can it be changed out to a glacier bay Oswell tub and shower kit?
No you can not mic match bands without changing the piping in the wall. Delta offers some trim kits that will work with some existing faucets. I would not recommend a Glacier bay as it's difficult to find parts
Hi, really struggling with trying to figure out what's up with my shower. I have an old school set up by Glacier Bay (I think). One handle controls temperature only, and the other controls flow. Haven't ever seen this setup anywhere else. It's kinda cool cause once you have the temp valve where you like it you rarely have to adjust it. Anyhow the old temp cartridge was never working right, so took the faucet apart and replaced with what physically is an exact match provided by local awesome plumbing supply house. Cartridge is a Glacier Bay PB0990 "Single Lever". Fits perfect and matches the old one perfectly, although the chrome dress up plate that surrounds the handle says Pegasus? Anyhow with new one installed (pins only allow one way to install everything, so I believe it's aligned properly) the cold (if set to all cold) will only run for a sec, then piston slides and shuts off 99.9% of flow. Same scenario if set to only hot. Only way I get normal water flow is if I set temp valve to the middle allowing equal hot and cold. Doesn't make any since?? Almost acts like I have the cartridge in ass backwards, but quite sure I have it correct... the two round spring loaded rubber seals ride against the handle, and the two "D" shaped ports surrounded by one race track shaped o-ring rides against the incoming water port holes inside the main valve body. Just figured I'd post all this since others may be having similar issue. I can't seem to find any info on this type of setup. Thanks!
Actually, I think I figure it out and it's working exactly like it's supposed to, just a really dumb design. Turns out I am getting temperature adjustment (now that hot water finally kicked in which takes forever), the valve just cuts off the water for some reason if set all the way clockwise (cold) or all the way counterclockwise (hot). What the heck is the point of that if there is a separate valve for ON, OFF, Flow? Dumb. Anyhow it works I guess ... probably way they don't make this setup very commonly anymore.
HI how are. please I have one question I have old cartridge USPAT 6131600, and I don't wish shower faucet is this, please if you can help me with that . thank you
Number 4 is a Danze as he mentioned. That specific one is DAN-A507902 There is a longer version that has the same long square brass rod the DAN-A507975
Got a Grohe shower and the handle broke and i cant find a replacement parts. Hard to find part numbers so damn frustrating almost like its meant to replace the whole system smfh
Stopping bathroom sink drip. Dual Handle. Contractor special faucet; no name. Bought Danco 3S-9H/C specifically noted for Hot/Cold. Installed and it stopped the drip but now must find 'center' for it to turn completely off. Is there a way to put a stop on that cartridge? I've searched high and low and not been able to find the same cartridge in single Hot or single Cold? Help please???
So the stop is a combination of the plastic extended piece where the handle fits and a similar piece in the handle that mate to each other to stop. Your original stem must have had the stop built into the stem. The only way to fix is to replace handles or get correct stem. Email me a picture of the original stem. Info@plumbingpartspro.com I may have it
I have a glacier bay shower valve, and takes a RP20075 cartridge, which looks like the Danco 10321 will fit. The question I have when I watched your video is the cylinder in the cartridge you were showing I could hear you shaking it. Is this what the piston is to do? I noticed when I removed my cartridge the piston that you can see in the back of the cartridge where the slots are at does not move at all; and this is a new cartridge about 4 months old. Is the piston suppose to be that free to move around? If so, then I guess I got a bad cartridge, as I can't get enough hot water to flow or balance between hot and cold. Your thoughts?
@@PlumbingPartsPro Thanks, tried an experiment, used a small hammer to tap side of cartridge to see if the cylinder would move, and sure enough it would move back and forth, but not very freely. Extended the experiment by a placing a drop of olive oil in the chamber, and tapped again. Seem more freer, but it would not shake back and forth. Put together, adjustment got better. So I have a new cartridge coming on Sunday to see if the cylinder is free in movement to see if this corrects the pressure balance. Thanks for having this video, this really helped when others did not.
You will have to remove the cartridge and send us a picture. Most of those Amazon shower panel faucets are imports and difficult to find parts. If we see the part we may be able to find something for it.
We have a problem with too much hot water, too. It appears the HL-40 cartridge has a large flow channel for cold water. But the valve in the wall was installed upside down, So we get greater hot water flow than cold water. Ugh! I reduced the hot water flow into the valve using shutoff screw.
Plumbing Parts Pro ah I see. The part does not last long and I’ve had to replace it every year because the pressure balance would get stuck and I would only get hot water 😒

It does sound like the pressure balance section of the cartridge is not working properly if your not getting a good mixture.
