    to get the perfect amount of decay is to divide the bpm to 60,000 and multiply it to 2 until it reaches 1,000 and for the perfect pre delay is just the same but divided it to 2 until it reaches 20+ to 30+. (its what engineers do, but u can break the rules since your ears is what matters)

      @key8sixty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@Jers1as I’m pretty sure you find the note times when you divide 60,000 by the BPM of the beat. The first solution you get I think is the 1/2 note, and then if you divide that by 2 you get the 1/4 note. And continue dividing by 2 to get the note you want

      @@TRIFREEZE you could just turn the predelay down all the way and put a delay in front of the reverb and use that as well as your predelay as well just makes sure its not on ping pong

    Goals) Make vocals louder and fit within track
    not trying to make vocals better than they are
    ------------------------------
    skip for bow
    -auto tune
    - de esser (unless i hear at end that S are really strong)
    - delay (echo dont need rn)
    - EQ 2 @11:00 very fine tuning (dont need to surgeon dissect, dont need perfect rn, most ppl cant even hear incl me while editing just ball park and keep going)
    - vocal synth, adding texture (i wanna see my improbement over time, not make perfect track)
    -ad lib (Dont have that rn just those little riffs and runs in pop songs)
    -ozone ( its apaprently for limitng sound volume so it doesnt peak beyond a certain threshold and cause noise, idk if its useful rn esp with once upload on interent have alot thtat will effect too so 75% is goal
    12:25 he mentions dont wanna adj high too much insta compression can make it sound bad, so it feels light another EQ things where its very subtle stuff, dw about this for now, only if the below dont give you the 75% you want)
    ------------------
    do
    -sound goodizer (try it, its basically a compressor + saturatoin)
    - compressor 1
    - seventh heaven reverb (or fruity one, look for tutorial not big deal, gonna be diealed down in the end)
    - leveling tips (below @10:18)
    - Master effects (its just effects he places over both vocal and bg = compressor 3 below & another subtle eq which isnt gonna mek much diff & fresh air below too)
    10:30
    the master effects are applied onto both voacls and instrrumental = compressor here will equalize everything together
    - maybe Fresh air (Enhanceshhighs m akes crsiper kinda like compressor but for highs 11:11
    6:15 compressor 2 + important to get adj in this order
    10:33 compressor 3
    10:40 this compressor is good cus its simple/beginner friendly and works well
    ===========
    Tips
    6:15 compressor 2 + important to get adj in this order
    9:55 tune things like eq and others while track is playing not solo, wont hear final result like that its all relative
    10:18 for how load vocals are to bg inst, listen to a track you have as a goal or want to be like
    and compare it to that as reference
    along with the sound dB levels hes working w on this track

    Hey just wanted to say this is by far the best vocal mixing and mastering tutorial on TH-cam thanks for sharing, but I had i had a couple questions.
    1. What effects do you let the artist record with
    2. What db or level does the raw vocals hit before you master them
    3. What db or level does the beat hut before you master the track
    Again it would mean a lot for you to answer these questions and thanks for the helpful tutorial!

    • @JiiNxMusic
      @JiiNxMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      1.Probably recorded the artist with compression on the way in, maybe like 3db of attenuation.
      2. The vocal was recorded around -18 db so if you’re gain matching correctly, by the time it gets to the mastering step it should still be around that same level.
      3. I believe he said the beat is hitting around -12db

    Scanning for resonant frequencies like that will always bring forward disonances which wouldn't really be awful without boosting and the more cuts like that you make the thinner your vocal becomes

    • @TRIFREEZE
      @TRIFREEZE  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re dips, not cuts-they reduce, not remove. Essentially what you’re doing is moving certain frequencies up and down. I simply did what I wanted to, every cut has a purpose

    • @YKZ21
      @YKZ21 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TRIFREEZE all i'm saying is almost any super boosted frequency like that will likely be resonant

    • @TRIFREEZE

    yet another goated tutorial by the goat doing goat things

  • @ballislife6969
    @ballislife6969 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I've realized it helps to change the first band of the EQ2 from a low shelf to a high pass since lowering the frequencies with a low shelf, even when you drag it all the way to the bottom, only makes the volume of those frequencies lower. It doesn't take them away completely, which a high pass however does. Thought it could help :D.

    • @ballislife6969
      @ballislife6969 ปีที่แล้ว

      This could be important since low frequencies can disturb without you knowing it if you don't erase them completely when necessary.

    • @TRIFREEZE
      @TRIFREEZE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yessir, get this all the time. I do it on purpose though. I never like removing frequencies completely from a microphone that was engineered with a certain response-it sounds better to me. I do appreciate it though

    Yo man sick video, just something really small that I'm not sure if you're aware of or not but just pulling down the default bands in fpeq2 just turns down that frequency range, in order to completely roll off the low end I suggest right clicking on the band click of type > high pass, the default high pass is quite a gradual cut so if you click and drag on the symbol above the respective band slider on the right hand side you can adjust the "steepness" i guess is the best term I can think of for the cut. Very nice mix though bro!

    Generally speaking,i doubt you're gonna get 'this type od stems' on most od times,this ones sound clean-recorded,compressed and saturated, even before you hit the mix🔥,usually,you will get much problematic dry stems,but you covered most of the important things when doing a mixdown,great mindset while searching for problems,even greater tutorial🔥🔌
    Greetings from Croatia,love your content❤️

      If the stems don’t sound like this, you shouldn’t move on to mixing man. You need to get the raw recording as good as possible. Much love man!!

    Your raw vocals sound better than my processed vocals.

    I have never ever used fl ever and don’t even have it yet, and am watching videos to see if it’s worth it, and this video made my head hurt 😭

      Haha I feel you man, really pro tools is ideal for tracking vocals and therefore it’s what engineers typically use but I grew up on FL, and since I’m not recording the vocals anyway, I used this DAW. FL is 100% worth it for beatmaking and mixing in general though
