to get the perfect amount of decay is to divide the bpm to 60,000 and multiply it to 2 until it reaches 1,000 and for the perfect pre delay is just the same but divided it to 2 until it reaches 20+ to 30+. (its what engineers do, but u can break the rules since your ears is what matters)
@@Jers1as I’m pretty sure you find the note times when you divide 60,000 by the BPM of the beat. The first solution you get I think is the 1/2 note, and then if you divide that by 2 you get the 1/4 note. And continue dividing by 2 to get the note you want

Hey just wanted to say this is by far the best vocal mixing and mastering tutorial on TH-cam thanks for sharing, but I had i had a couple questions. 1. What effects do you let the artist record with 2. What db or level does the raw vocals hit before you master them 3. What db or level does the beat hut before you master the track Again it would mean a lot for you to answer these questions and thanks for the helpful tutorial!
1.Probably recorded the artist with compression on the way in, maybe like 3db of attenuation. 2. The vocal was recorded around -18 db so if you’re gain matching correctly, by the time it gets to the mastering step it should still be around that same level. 3. I believe he said the beat is hitting around -12db
Scanning for resonant frequencies like that will always bring forward disonances which wouldn't really be awful without boosting and the more cuts like that you make the thinner your vocal becomes
They’re dips, not cuts-they reduce, not remove. Essentially what you’re doing is moving certain frequencies up and down. I simply did what I wanted to, every cut has a purpose
I've realized it helps to change the first band of the EQ2 from a low shelf to a high pass since lowering the frequencies with a low shelf, even when you drag it all the way to the bottom, only makes the volume of those frequencies lower. It doesn't take them away completely, which a high pass however does. Thought it could help :D.
Yessir, get this all the time. I do it on purpose though. I never like removing frequencies completely from a microphone that was engineered with a certain response-it sounds better to me. I do appreciate it though
Bro this some great shit man, i downloaded some of those plugins and there great. Didnt really know what i was doing tbh but i played it by ear and fallowed your steps and my song sounds great cuz of you. Thank you brother man.
Amazing as always bro, Thanks. Here some Ideas for future tips: More about beat workflow (templates, plugins, drumkits, presets and work fast) southside, pyrex whippa styles, How to record vocals properly, plugins when recording and sidechains, volume level when recording, cuts and also templates, plugins, presets and fast work. And for everyone that is reading this comment i wish you great parties, success, health and a happy new year and also never stop trusting yourself.
Yo man sick video, just something really small that I'm not sure if you're aware of or not but just pulling down the default bands in fpeq2 just turns down that frequency range, in order to completely roll off the low end I suggest right clicking on the band click of type > high pass, the default high pass is quite a gradual cut so if you click and drag on the symbol above the respective band slider on the right hand side you can adjust the "steepness" i guess is the best term I can think of for the cut. Very nice mix though bro!
Generally speaking,i doubt you're gonna get 'this type od stems' on most od times, this ones sound clean-recorded,compressed and saturated, even before you hit the mix🔥,usually, you will get much problematic dry stems, but you covered most of the important things when doing a mixdown, great mindset while searching for problems, even greater tutorial🔥🔌 Greetings from Croatia, love your content❤️

12:25 he mentions dont wanna adj high too much insta compression can make it sound bad, so it feels light another EQ things where its very subtle stuff, dw about this for now, only if the below dont give you the 75% you want)

do
-sound goodizer (try it, its basically a compressor + saturatoin)

- seventh heaven reverb (or fruity one, look for tutorial not big deal, gonna be diealed down in the end)
