R.I.P Richard Briers and Keith Barron
Duran Duran - 'Wild Boys' in the charts at the time this advert was shown.
I went to the local motor show back in late 1982 when these first came out they looked so futuristic compared to the mk5 Cortina.
Sold as a 2 door model in Canada as the Merkur XRT4i.
Here in the US, as well.
Ford must have fixed it, my Sierra plays Duran Duran.
Wonderful care free days back then.
Unless you were a miner of course.
My mum always called Richard Briers a miserable bastard when this advert came on, for not letting the girls put their cassette tape on! Mind you, Duran Duran? I can see why! lol!

No rear belts though !
