- Don't know why they chose to bookend this video with a scary noise, but here's a nice, slow demonstration of the new Fiesta MK3 (1989). I think it is safe to say that no-one broke the speed limit while filming this video.
Just bought a 89 Fiesta mk3 for £300. 62k owned by an old lady. Only advisories on MOT were for rust on the bottom of the doors and arches (which have previously been welded). Will apply some rust prevention and hope for the best come the next MOT. Everything completely original, even the stereo which was switched off and locked many years ago after a battery change. Keygen'd that and job done! Just need to tidy the bodywork up a little. Done a few hundred miles in it already in less than 2 weeks and enjoyed every mile. Super slow 1.1 but extremely enjoyable retro ride.
The acting is amazing I'm guessing most if not all the actors went on to play big roles in casualty
My favourite Fiesta.
Stuart W mine too
I have a 25 year old fiesta 1.8d and it still runs perfect. Just need to pay attention to the basic things and done
That’s cool
My Ford Fiesta is also 25 years old and it runs perfect. I have a Fiesta with automatic tranmission from 1995. There were some problems but I have solved this with a good friend. You wrote your comment 5 years ago, is the Fiesta still driving?
Greetings from Holland
@@mrsjaak100 unfortunately no... I lost it last August... My mechanic was driving from the mot center, after being inspected, and it just had major intervention, and he had a accident... Car was completely destroyed 😭😭. So sad... It was my very first car, the car that had all the memories... I have a bmw at the present but still, I Can't forget my fiesta
@@mrsjaak100 I wish everything the best for you and your car. Greetings from Portugal
@@joelfonseca9345I'm sorry to hear that you lost the old Fiesta with an accident. It's a shame ! But the most important thing is that you are in good health and can cheries memories. Greetings from Holland from just another Fiesta fan
The maroon 5 door 1.1 Ghia, registration F214 OAR lasted 15 years, it was first registered in February 1989 and last taxed in 2004... Couldn't find any details on the Silver 1.1 LX automatic, registration F213 OAR, it probably never made it through the 90's... Likewise for the black XR2i, registration F60 ONO probably never made it through the 90's. Nor did the silver Granada in the driveway registration F75 JNO... But I hope Grandpa enjoyed his birthday, happy birthday Grandpa.
These were underrated cars. The engines were rough but flexible, they were very reliable and they were tough and dependable. Some day people will bring these out from behind the shadows of the 205 and Renault Clio and appreciate that they gave millions of miles of trauma free motoring to thousands.
That XR2i woman is the embodiment of late 80s fashion... And so is the car! :-D The chunky alloys, the front fogs, the blue body strips....what a wonderfully late 80s time warp machine. If there are any still around which haven't been crashed or eaten up by rust I bet they'll be worth a bit now!
The woman is Carol from the Brittas Empire
Aż mi się miło zrobiło po obejrzeniu tego filmu. Sam mam 17 letnią fieste 1,3i i jest to bardzo wdzięczny samochód i co ważne mocny i niezawodny przy prawidłowej obsłudze.
so....what i have gathered from watching promotional video is that fiestas are aimed at the upper middle-class, are handy for women to keep their handbags in and do their make-up in them due to the clever placing of the mirror under the sun visor.... im sold!!
Ah happy memories! My first car was a 3 year old radiant red J Reg Fiesta, 1.1 lead in model, 5 door. Great first car had it for 2 years.
I'm 15, but I love old cars like this! (sad, I know!). New 'modern' cars all look the same and have no character.. I'd love a fiesta mk3.
Are you still 15
@@hayosiko911928 now!! Time flies
Моей "Фиесте", 1990 года, 33 года. Отличная машина!)) 😂
OAP's doing 35 mph everywhere. Things never change!
My first car was Mk3 Fiesta 1.3. It was a dark blue 3 door with a sunroof and alloys. I was 18 and put a bad boy stereo in it. I have fond memories of that car :)
Me and my girl still drive a 89 fiesta, the white one in this clip. It's nice to see how it has looked when it was new..;-) Now, it's getting rusty, but the engine is so reliable we won't get rid of this car until it totally breaks down. We drive it for 7 years now and with a little tlc (check the oil and cool-fluids about once in the 2 months) it still runs an never has let us stand still. It's an amazing strong car, it only lost it's nice white look! Hahaha...It's drive is splendid.
Hmmm 4:54 sounds familiar... I know! - Car Halen - "Jump start"
Van Failin'
Too good. How can you fault a family where all its members drive Fiestas.
xr2i, the car which dreams are made of. A sign of the early 90's. I miss mine badly. ;-(
Used to love these had 5 of them over the years these and mk1 were always my favourite ones
1995 jeździ do dziś///still driving- never enough;)
Mines a 1994 1.1i four door it's got a lot of small dents but no rust as I repaired it all and replaced the rear arches, I only paid £250 for it, it's an old cheap run-about but I still love it, and it never breaks down! I had a rare 1.3SX when I was 19, but wrote it off after 3 months! :-( ....Mk3 Fiesta's will always be great cars though!
Filmed in the UK lol, I'v still got a Mk3 1.1LX Fiesta, it's old, rusty, but it keeps on going!
Still got my MK3 1.1 in the same silver as the one on the video!! Good ole' reliable :)
We had a naked 1991 1.1i C 3 door in the family and it was fun to drive it in the city, but it really lacks of power up from 90 km/h. Full throttle almost everytime. I've won lots of traffic light duels - it's a light weight. The car survived almost 18 years in a fairly good condition until it has been scraped for money - only some rust around the filler cap, tailgate knob and on the oil sump - just like almost every Fiesta Mk3 GFJ...
How car ads should be. Not like todays' with some over-stylised SUV charging round a strangely empty cityscape to some awful music.
I have a 26 y.o. Fiesta 1.1 and I love that car :D
I agree, my Fiesta is now 25 years old and I love thuis car. Greetings from Holland
Saw a black mk3 XR2i identical to the one at the start of this on the carpark of our local Co-op. Beautiful car!
The Mk3 Fiesta was the nicest Fiesta Ford made, roomy, comfortable, practical and economical and was a big step over the Mk2 and Mk1
This advert is so much of its time, with the mum getting in the passenger seat & checking her appearance in the mirror of the sun visor! Rubbishy music I m o. The dialogue is kind of embarrassing too! It's interesting seeing the young woman driving the black Fiesta near the beginning with her hands at the 10 to 2 position! I took a Fiesta 1.1 LX for a test drive 16 years ago; it was a 1995 model & felt very 'firm' to drive & was in clean perfect condition, tho I didn't buy it in the end. It was silver, so identical to the 1 in this video.
I'm see that Video 2024 and buy a Fiesta mk3 50hp 1.1i for 2weeks is a great car.❤.
Mfg. from Germany.
still driving it, it is my first car. unfortunately nor a rx2i. luckily my bf is a mechanic so car repair is really cheap. only big problem is corrosion but I still love it and have it repaired every year for another one to come.
No, the early ford ka's had a 1300 crossflow in out of the base model escorts, basically an anglia engine
Twin-Cam brought me here.
What I always found intriguing about this generation was the choice of two van versions - one being the 3-door hatchback sans rear seats and windows, the other being the Courier box van.
As for the design, I don't think the designers intended that the car would still be made - in 4 door sedan form as the Ikon - in the 2010s in India, and that it would end up spawning pickup versions in Latin America and South Africa...
great car !!
Loved the mark 3, I was 14 when it came out lol.
My first car was a Mk3 Fiesta, the 1.3 Equipe special edition in Garnet Red. RIP M355 GAT, sadly failed it's last MOT in 2007
Love the copyright-avoiding Van Halen ripoff
Don’t want to pay Van Halen royalties for ‘Jump’? No bother, buy a Casio keyboard, just change a couple of notes and you’re done!
1989.a different world
I first drove in a MK 3 1.3 LX 5 door 29 years ago aged 17 at driving school
Production of the Ford Fiesta is coming to an end in June 2023
love that early 90's feel, even if i was born in 1998
Same here mate. Also born in 1998 and I love old cars. Also own a mk3 Fiesta
i had the 1.3 sumthing cant remember , was my first car and i loved it to bits , had a lump in my throat when it went
Dobar autoooo
Wish they would relaunch this model but with all the modern technology like sat nav and Bluetooth and automatic lights and wipers and in automatic and manual variations as I really like the design of this car it’s cool don’t really like the ford cars of today. And as others say this was a rip version of Van Halen Jump
A fudd-ied up version of Van Halen at the end PMSL, pure class advertising, great old British piss-taking there, love it! Always thought this was the tidiest looking generation though.
was für ein wagen der traum aller autofahrer
Is the song from ca. 5:00 on supposed to be some kinda remix of Van Halen? :D
Aye they buggered it up I think so's they didn't need to pay Van Halen any Royalties LOL, actually sounds quite good I think.
MrSemir0800 my thoughts entirely! Even the instrumental comes in the right place
I miss my mk3 ghia!!!
That 1.3 roared like a hairdryer
GREAT VIDEO JUST CHECKED THE DVLA about the 3 cars in this film first 2 have since been sent to ford heaven the red ghia is unlicened so probs the same :(
Frist learned to drive in a Mk 3 LX back in 1991
The XR2 and the 1.3Ghia?
my gran gave me a 92 with 34,000 on the clock bit rusty but what a dream wish had more money to sort out rust and standared old car problems
they must have truly searched high and low to find the acting talent in this video... :|
Bought an 1995 1.3i caymann it's cute car...
I've got a 1.3, runs on petrol, has two doors, built in 1995 and that's about as much as I know about it.
very nice vid mate!
i like the "holding out for a hero" version better. haha.
lol when the silver one parks reverse light comes on
Its a CTX same as my mk2 you cycle reverse to put it in park
@LeightonW87 its a ford granada/scorpio
Have to agree with Darren3965, the ticking from that engine would drive you mad the 1.2 was the worst!!!
@LeightonW87 It's a Ford Scorpio
Point of order - 04:39 what engine is that, it's certainly not a CVH or an HCS!?
i wishd id had some day fiesta mk3. and i wishd my gfs uncle has fiesta mk3. my gfs cousin as red fiesta mk3
@Ryan199403 Phew, I thought I was the only one! :) Yeah I know. The simplest of cars like the mk3 just seem so cool. It's a real shame you hardly ever see them anymore. I've spotted one on the staff car park at my school haha *steals* lol.
no 1
didnt the early ford ka models use that engine?
Andy King Yes they did - the basis of that engine dates back to the 1960s Ford Anglia!
i would love to paint cars from valiant to fiesta
All so Howards’ Way lol
My first car 94 fiesta 1.1.
I have the 1.6 engine. Its still a great car its a 2 door one but its quite fast LOL
ghia chez ford
@Ryan199403 hi mate just go to the dvla site and go to tax or sorn... then click on vehicle enquiry :)
theres what looks like a Ford Sierra at 7:00
@Ryan199403 Haha! Wow! Apart from the one at school, I can't remember the last time I saw a mk3, even. (including the chavvy versions of them, lol, I much prefer them as they were made to look like, the modifications seem to get out of hand!!)
P.S. I'm still probably the only 15 year old girl who is obsessed with them, LOL!
chzy advertisement-
It's not a Sierra, it's a Mk3 Granada, but I know what you mean.... lol
Belting little car that
mira el fiesta
creepy 💀💀
у меня такая была.
crap cars after a few miles the engines sound like a bag of spanners being dropped out of the sky !
Sooooooo cheesy
Most pretentious ford video ever lol!
