I'm a nail tech and the STUNNING shape of your nails caught my eyes as I was scrolling videos. I watched the video twice and 3 times in parts lol but one thing I noticed is you don't actually create an apex, with an "apex bead" BUT you certainly have a beautiful apex when the nails are done lol. I'm not sure if your natural nails have a good apex to start with (and omg your nail beds are so nice) So I watched your 2nd and third layer application and I noticed 2 things that you may not realize you do; when you put the 2nd layer of gel you sort of pull the majority of your bed close to the stress point and thin it out as you "paint" and on the third layer your application of product gets less and less as you move to the tip but the most is again left before the stress point which essentially creates the apex. Both of those things are definitely helping to create that beautiful apex. I just wanted to mention this for people struggling with flat nails, and I myself and going to give your way a try too. My finished nails look great but its thanks to my filing and I think your way can reduce about 50 percent of my filing, thanks for the video
Y’all don’t have to be rude. She was just adding another view. Big. Damn. Deal. Everyone does everything differently. Maybe the way she explained the apex, someone will understand better. Y’all apparently missed the point of commenting. It’s not just to be petty asshats. Go figure!
I get your point, when I watched how she created her apex.. I thought that next time I do my nails I will give this way a try. The lady was, granted in a little long winded approach saying that she creates her apex differently, complimented her on the end result and said she will give it a try also. She was not being negative.
I'm self-taught via TH-cam (I only do my own nails) and I've really been struggling with my shaping. This video is going to be very helpful for me, I think. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate those shots down the barrel of your nail! Saving this video because I know I'll be referring back to it more than once!
The shape is lovely...clicked on this to see you shape them...as lovely as they are, no filing info was really given. It is an area I am working on and watching other nail techs do their craft is helpful. Will keep looking. Thank you for the video.
I agree the side profile with that incredible apex is the best I've seen, most coffins from the side look like the free edges have been hacked slightly (its hard to explain but her free edges almost follow out from her natural sidewalls straight) they are beautiful
Everyone has their own style. There’s no reason to put anyone down to give someone else a compliment. These are perfect and in their own category among many of perfect nails.
Best and easiest video I've seen, I've been putting off trying these. But your video has given me the confidence to finally try it. Thank you. Just subscribed too xx
WONDERFUL vid, Isabel. Thank you for the small but helpful tips, like pinching the end of the form. You make extension sculpting FAR less intimidating!
Best tutorial I have seen . I love to do my own nails and basically learned how to do builder gel off of TH-cam . I chose builder gel over acrylic because I hate the smell of acrylic and I have pets who are always around me lol , so didn’t want them inhaling those fumes . This color is so pretty and I will definitely be picking this up as soon as possible . Thank you for sharing !
I just subscribed and started watching your videos. This set is beautifully done. You got a an amazing C Curve without using any Pinchers or pinching tool, I really love the way you manually shaped your nails with a nail file. I need so much practice in nail shape filing. Thanks for sharing !
I really thank you for this video you literally made me like filing because I'm not the best at it but you made this easier for me you're the best at teaching this I've watched a lot of videos and this is the only one i find useful thank you!!❤️
Hi ! I always come back to this video as a review of hard gel application. ❤ Would you possibly ever do a detailed demonstration of how to properly apply a nail form? I find it hard to find a video that shows with adequate camera angles so I can actually see what people are talking about 😢
Hey thank you so much for all your videos. I came across you today and I have to say-I'm now hooked 😁 have a question. Young nails saying that to do extensions we MUST use clear gel to make sure it cures well. What is your opinion about that? x thank you x
That’s clever! Using that rubber base to aboid filing the natural nail:). How long do they last without lifting or chipping? Very helpfull, going to practice forms on my practice hand
You need sculpting forms, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, an led cureing lamp (at LEAST 36w), sculpting gel (clear, nude, or pink to start), gel polish base coat, gel polish top coat. You will also need some nail buffer files in a semi-fine grit. Coarse ones are for acrylic, to remove a lot of mass. You ALWAYS want to work thinner w/gels, so they cure fast. From there, in between that base coat and the top coat, you layer colors, glitter, foil, stickers, rhinestones, and sculptures you can create with that hard sculpting gel. Pinterest and Instagram are your best friends for inspiration, and TH-cam your best source for good step by step tutorials like this one.
What lamp do you use? I’m using a 48W UV/LED and I’ve gotten great results with it… Especially compared to the crappy 36W lamp I got with a “Starter kit.”
Is there an alternative brand that you recommend to someone who’s a newbie and is on a budget? I’m afraid to spend $50+ on a builder gel and rubber base coat when I’m still trying to learn. Thanks in advance for your suggestion(s) 😩💖
Go on aliexpress website and buy it the gel extention polish called Sugar , cost one dollar i have loads of them and they work just as the same as the professional one

Thank you so much for this, I'm doing a hard gel nail course tomorrow but wondered what other gels there are out there! Also have you tried the light elegance hard gels? If so would you recommend them or just the gelpot gel? Thank you! Xx
Lauren Joanna hey babe, sorry for the late reply! I have got light Elegance as well - both are great but I love the gel pot it’s fabulous!!! Hope your course went well xxxx
I do my own nails at home and they always pop off my nails! I use the Ibd hard gel and the ibd bonder before. I’m not sure why they always do this but after a ew days without fail they always come off. Any advice? Thanks!
Will you do a video on how to remove these correctly and safely? I’m assuming you remove with a hand file and not an e-file, as you shaped (beautifully) with a hand file. This was a very helpful video to us sculpting newbies, so thank you!
I only use hard gels and I use an e-file, ceramic bit for removal. My hand would really hurt if I tried removing it all with a hand file. I always leave a little bit of gel on the natural nail so that it grows out with the nail.
iv just bought this system but if i was going to file gel then add another layer of gel would i need a protein bond aswel or can i use the rubber base again?
i am facing great difficulty finish filing the extensions around cuticle area. i end up hurting skin around cuticle with my file. i don't use nail drill. please guide how to deal with this. Thanks a lot
I know this is a very old comment, but if you haven't found the answer yet - You need to season (soften) your files before the first use or they will have hard/sharp edges and it'll hurt your cuticles. To season your files, just take another coarse file, and use it to file around all the edges of your new file, and use it to dull down the edges. That should soften it up so that it doesn't hurt you.

You shouldn’t say that. It’s multiple reasons people may struggle. It’s hard for some & easy for others. 🤷🏽♀️

Hello this is every informative
Do you dip the brush in monomer or you use it dry??
And did you dry them in UV before or not?
You only use Monomer with acrylic. This product is Gel.
lovely!

So gorgeous

Do you prep the nail and cuticle with an efile
Kira R why , does that make a difference?
@@bayareababe it removes the shine off the nail and all the dead skin around your cuticle can cause the nails to lift

how long should this entire process take from start to finish when doing on client? tfs
2 hours maximum
How long do they last? any lifting or chipping?
do you cure and wipe bbetween every layer of gel?
Cure no wipe in between love

is this the same for using tips?
do you dip your brush in anything berfore you pick up gel ? :)
Saron Solomon nope just straight into the pot of gel 😊❤️
Hi where is the young nails gel brush from please ?
What nail grit are you using?
Can someone help me? How long does this type of nails last?
If I use a builder gel that is supposed to be cured for two mins under a 36W lamp , how long should I cure it for under a 24W ? Or is it possible
If it’s sculpted gel, do they crack easily especially around the edges?
I build my nails similar to this method and have never had any issues with cracking anywhere.
Would you be able to link the extension gel you have used?
How long does this method take? I can’t take 5 hours to do a set of nails on a client
Can you use GEL BOTTLE BIAB bottles to do this?
Yes but you need a sculpt gel layer underneath first, because you can't mee the nails longer with bottle builder (only 2mm)
Are the gel bottle inc products only for nail techs with licenses and certificates?😩😩 I would love to purchase these products but I’am self taught
