I love Elsa Peretti jewelry from Tiffany. Her designs are so clean yet whimsical & charming; hence they are always conversation pieces. RIP Ms Peretti...
@@kateyoung sooo so good. I absolutely loved it. Halston's wardrobe in the series, my mood board for fall. Epic. The 70s were glorious! What I loved most is I learned more about Elsa, about Liza, things I did not know. I was enthralled. I did not know that fashion event took place at Versailles. And I had just been watching that 90s fashion documentary The Look, where I learned a great deal about the beginnings of Calvin Klein, our queen Donna Karan, who occupied the former Halston offices, and Ralph Lauren. So it all tied in when I watched Halston. To see Ralph Lauren still in big business today is astounding. These designers went through alot. Respect. And there's Liza and Angelica Huston who are still alive with those memories that we only glimpsed. Amazing.
I have long been aware of Elsa Peretti's designs but knew nothing of her life. And now, I'm obsessed (in a very good way)! What an intriguing woman! And what a life she led! Thank you for a lovely video.
I simply didn’t want that this episode to end! It’s just amazingly inspirational and beautiful and you should do this again with a lot of other iconic fashion faces! We have so much to learn from them and from you as well! Thank you for bringing this into our life! ❤️
Elsa Peretti revolutionized the jewelry industry with her brilliant and creative designs. This episode was so informative and an amazing tribute to her legacy.✨
This is what top-notch quality content looks like. Educational, inspiring, beautiful, and entertaining at the same time. Thank you for starting this channel, Kate. It makes my time spent on TH-cam worth it. I become a more evolved and a cultured human being.
Lovely tribute. I used to tear the photos of her jewelry from Elle and Vogue in the early 90s and hang them on my wall. The ads were incredible. I would love to see a video about 70s- 80s-90s photography, it was so iconic.
What a beautiful story on Elsa Peretti. My name is Chris Royer and I am one of the Halston's muse model and Halstonette. Back in 1972 I met Elsa, she was an amazing model, and evolved to become one of the great jewelry designers of the time. Thank you for this wonderful video!
You should be so proud of your little growing channel. I really hope you find success with all the hardwork that put into your videos. Kudos to your team and editors too. Thank you Kate. Keep working hard, and we will be here cheering you on.
Loved this was all Elsa. I worked at Tiffany's Beverly Hills for 11 years. I had the pleasure of meeting her and owning some of her designs that I'll cherish forever. xo
So, so true about the Halston perfume bottle. It is iconic and unforgettable. She sounds like someone I would want to sit down at a party and hear all her stories. This tribute is so heartfelt and beautiful! I get a real sense of who she was, but I also feel that way when I looking and wearing her jewelry. Thank you so much!
You are a national treasure, just like Elsa, this is how fashion people should be. Full of vitality, appreciation, reverence, respect, humor, and dedication to craft. A historian part time. I ache to be a part of this world and one day soon I will. Thank you 🙏
I probably watched this one for 20 times and shared it with many ppl I hope they will be inspired. This one episode was done from the heart, a marvelous work.
THANK YOU, Kate !!! You speak SO WELL ! And you have SO MUCH insight and content !!! A video by you like this one is more than 2-3 weeks of modern commercial designs in an art college and 1 semester in a fashion school anywhere in the world...
Hi Kate, It's really interesting to learn about the stories behind Elsa Peretti's designs. I've been admiring your collection for Monica Vinader and I can see you're giving back some love - really cool pieces.
*AWESOME FUCKING PIECE!! Just discovered her while watching the Netflix drama of Halston and never heard of her before, probably a typical casualty of time passing. Man she was stunning when she was younger! Loving your hair and TH-cam channel, keep going!! Greetings from a straight guy in Canada!*
Hi Kate thank you for creating your TH-cam channel and sharing your wisdom freely. I feel like I am watching a master class in fashion! I love how passionate you are about what you do, your enthusiasm is helping my COVID-19 gloom.
Loved this episode honoring Elsa Peretti’s legacy. I was very intrigued by the sentiment behind the ‘open heart’ necklace ❤️ and all of Elsa’s jewelry pieces were each masterpieces on their own ❤️ Love your channel!
How inspiring ! Didn't know Elsa until watched your video, and really touched me about designing, things look so simple but meaningful behind the look.
Ohmygoodness you made me rediscover my fascination for the little vase necklace that she designed. I cannot imagine that there could exist a young girl - who when she first saw that in the window at Tiffany - didn’t beg her mother for one.❤️
Thank you. I came out n the 70's. Three of my great loves were finding my soul mate, dance music and Elsa Peretti silver jewelry. I have the bean, the medium size "jug", horseshoe belt, and large wrist cuff. I rarely wear any of these pieces but enjoy them as objects of art.
Thank you so much for sharing this wealth of information on Elsa Peretti. Her authentic personality has always shown on her designs and way of living. I am looking forward for your next episode as always. xo
Dearest Kate, This episode is EVERYTHING!! I have been obsessed with Elsa and all things Elsa since I designed clothes in the 1980's in New York. She was fluid beauty at its finest and her creations will live on forever. You are definitely my soul sister!! XOX From Ireland
I worked at Bloomingdale's in Manhattan for 3 years in the jewelry dept. while going to school. There was a small area that was for Elsa Perriti jewelry and I always loved to go in and look at the pieces. They always felt organic and comforting in the hand. I just wish I had invested in a few pieces.
Elsa Peretti was always such an inspiration to me as well. When I was young, I saved up for just a few beautiful pieces of her jewelry. I still love and wear my bracelets and my bottle necklace (that was a gift from my husband). She was such a special and wonderful artist! I've always wanted a snake necklace...one day! Thank you Ms. Peretti & Kate! XO
Thank you so much Kate for this videos, one of the best I’ve seen so far from Elsa. May she rest in peace. She’s one of my biggest references and inspirations
Thank you for the education and introducing us to an amazing artist. I was familiar with a few of these pieces but didn't realize how interconnected they were with Tiffany's history. I'm totally in love with the bone cuff, snake necklace and the mesh not that I know their history. Thank you again!
Fantastic tribute to an amazing creator. End of an era for sure. Legendary people like Elsa Peretti only come along infrequently. Her oeuvre of work lives on.
Please talk more about what you discussed with Hung Vanngo-the differences between a cheap & expensive pair of jeans and why high fashion costs so much (and how much effort & materials go into it). Loving your content & looking forward to learning more!
Thank you for the very informative and enjoyable view into Elsa Peretti’s world. Raquel Welch wore a bone cuff bracelet on the cover of her Hatha Yoga Book 📖 and video in the 1970’s. I have wanted one ever since. My son found one for me. I explained the desire for this design. Unfortunately Elsa Peretti passed away one month after I received my lovely cuff bracelet. Thank you Elsa for your inspirations. This is a wonderful channel. I look forward to more informative videos. By the way Kate, my hair is very long and naturally white.
I love this kind of history of style segment. In your mood boards episode I was trying to think of icons, and while I had some moments that I could think of - I never felt like I knew who to accredit them to. Seeing Elsa through your eyes gave me a whole new appreciation. Who else do you look to?
This was really interesting. I’m a big fan of Tiffany and have always seen her designs however didn’t realise how much she has revolutionised their collections and many more 😃
Wow I had no idea I was wearing some of her necklaces for 5yrs AND that the creator has such a fascinating story! I just liked the design! Thanks for these gems, Kate 😍
This is sooo juicy! Thank you for sharing the history of Elsa and her contribution/your personal inspiration in the fashion world. Kate, your content is so unique. It makes me, a regular gal feel part of a glamorous and exclusive community. Sharing in your curated collection is such a treat!
I found your channel after watching Hung Vanngo's make-up video. I'm glad that I found your channel with inspirational content, professional high quality video, Hung Vanngo was right that you should make videos for normal people to get knowledge about fashion and its history which was not accessible unless one goes into industry; also it is good for for those who can afford high price designer's items but has little knowledge to appreciate the value of the design and work that has been done. I love this episode - I can't afford to follow fashion or buy high price designer's piece, but I love arts, it is great to find out more about inspirational designer and their life stories!
Jewellery is such an underrated aspect of fashion. It literally makes an outfit look luxe. Thanks for the knowledge on Elsa Peretti.
🤍
This is like a seminar for those who only wished they got to study at Parsons
I got in but I was too broke to go! 😂😂😂
I went to Paris Fashion Institute for s summer session.
I knew I wanted to go to Parsons
Love your pants. Great toggle.
I love Elsa Peretti jewelry from Tiffany. Her designs are so clean yet whimsical & charming; hence they are always conversation pieces. RIP Ms Peretti...

She was such a vibrant character, really resonate with her casual, embodied approach to the work. The bone-inspired pieces are incredible.

🤍
Yes I too proudly and lovingly wear my bone bracelet it was bought at Tiffany's for me 22 years ago and it still brings me pleasure to slip it on
That is culture and Art! Thanks. The fact that accomplishes fashion shows how intertwined they are!
