  • CEO of Ola, Bhavish Aggarwal, has reignited a debate on work-life balance by advocating for a 70-hour workweek. Healthcare experts have flagged that the 70-hour work week leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, like strokes, heart attacks and high blood pressure.

In a wink they turn crony and colonize people. Its the duty of people to elect leaders who can keep the companies in check. Not the ones who sleep with them. They say companies will leave but they never will because india has a huge domestic market. If one service provider leaves another wil fill the gap. Don't bowdown to corporates.

*FAIRNESS to ALL - Fair trade between Employer and Employee getting Time vs. Money enforced by Fair Labor Laws*
If law enforcement guarantees that companies have to pay more per hour of extra work after a 40-hour week due to public health risks, the same CEOs will say 40 hours are enough - which CEO of this kind, would want to share profits with the over-worked employees ? If employee-friendly laws enforce a fair balance of exchange of economic value between employer and employee then some additional cost to public-health-risk from additional-hours-of-work can be reasonable since such flexibility benefits both employee and employer *EQUALLY* . To genuinely ensure the equality of this balance, there need to be effective systems in place, that measure and regularly publish this metric so that there is *INCENTIVE* for employers (and even employees) to not mis-use this otherwise-dangerous-flexibility in the labor laws.

Time for capitalism to take a back seat if this is what the CEO's think. Mixed Economy best for all after this type of views. When we had mixed economy the capitalist were ready to give you better life. Now I think too much of capitalism around so people talk whatever they want.

Will the company make us billionaires too... Capitalism is cashing on peoples life now, and that too infront of everyone's face. They are cashing in and we are just celebrating 😅. By reading history what I understand we will again go back to the Salvery times to fulfill the ambitious pockets of these billionaires in the name of PRODUCTIVITY.

If employee can work for 14 hours then sell ola bikes for 100 rs. This will reduce transportation cost and improve the growth of the nation. And make our country a developed one.
