This song always makes me teary eyed. when i listen to this, i see the world covered in a heavy darkness consumed by the evil. but you, you keep a flame that the darkness tries so hard to put out and because you fight and you fight it has a difficult time. and right when you're about to give up, your garment filthy, you're tired from your long hard journey. your all white horse comes speedily to take you far away to a resting place where you can rejuvenate before the darkness comes again.
A few months before my father passed away, he introduced me to this beautiful song. I feel it was his way of telling me to listen to this after he was gone, to remember him. To this day, I do.

As I was walking out of the auditorium in the cinema on my 21st birthday, mind blown by this film, I heard someone ahead of me say "I've been waiting my while life to see a film like that". Which is how I felt too. Grew up with my dad reading me the book. The film could so easily have been shit but they just nailed it. The soundtrack and casting and design, just amazing. The Hobbit on the other hand.. Jesus what a load of shit! Can't believe it was even the same people.

I have also the courage to say that I liked The Hobbit saga more than LOTR. I might not appreciate that they added Tauriel and Legolas just to put a romantic vibe that wasn't needed, but besides that the saga is superb. Actors did an incredible job, the soundtrack is just as good as LOTR's, special effects are very, very cool to watch, the places depicted and built are beautiful, the story is faithful to that of the book (Peter just decided to add a few things that honestly didn't damage the story at all, and I am saying this as a lover of The Hobbit book, I read it a lot of times). A few scenes are deleted obviously but you can see them by watching the extended version of the movies, and they are beautiful and some are also touching or funny. you might don't care but I'd like to know why you consider The Hobbit saga a shit when it's, I repeat, faithful to the book (putting some things aside). I'm just curious!
@@Morgoth044 I think people who praised the LOTR trilogy to high heavens, then turned around and trashed The Hobbit films as being total crap are over-reacting in the most hyperbolic way. The main criticisms of The Hobbit, from what I can tell, are: 1. The LOTR extended editions (usually considered the best version) still had to condense/omit/change a lot of the original source material to keep the total runtime down to 11.4 hours. OTOH, the same film-makers really had to stretch the source material from The Hobbit, padding it with extra stuff from the LOTR appendices, plus make up stuff that never existed (Tauriel) for three films when one or two would have sufficed. The total runtime of the extended editions of The Hobbit trilogy is almost 9 hours. As books, the LOTR is over 1200 pages, while The Hobbit is around 300 pages long. 2. The LOTR trilogy used a lot more practical effects while on The Hobbit films, they relied a lot more (maybe too much) on CGI.
@@Lupin788 thank you for your explanation! but I still consider that calling The Hobbit saga a shit is way too much. I am re-reading the book right now and I can clearly notice that a lot of stuff are different, they changed a lot, but I think they were forced to. they changed a lot of scenes and dialogues, but the only difference is that they were inserted in different ways. I noticed that Thorin too (at least at the beginning) is different from how he is described in the book (temperamentally speaking of course), but I think it's not a big problem because in many ways he is still the same Thorin. for CGI, I think they would have done the exact same thing with LOTR in the past if they could, it was just different times. from 2010 onwards the CGI has come into "force" a lot and practically everyone abused and still abuses it, they think it makes things more real in the eyes of those who watch movies. but still, if we take the entire saga of The Hobbit and don't take it for individual things, it's really nice, especially for those who haven't read the books. I can understand that instead for those who have read them a lot of factors turn up their noses, I was the first to be skeptical when I saw Tauriel and I noticed that it was only inserted to put some romance in the saga. besides all of this, some people know that Peter had a few problems when realizing this saga. lack of time mainly, so I really appreciate all the work him and his team did with all the problems they had.

I Just lost my precious kitty of 16 1/2 yrs and also my mom at 96 years old. This is such a beautiful song, I am having it played when they spread my ashes . My mother passed at 62 just less than 2 months ago. I remember when I was nine years old, she took me and my siblings to see the fellowship. This song stayed with me all these years. Grateful for my mother's love of Lord of the Rings 💜 singing Elvish, a nice touch

Such great childhood memories of this song and seeing the LotR movies in the cinema. I can’t believe the Fellowship came out almost 20 years ago.
As I was walking out of the auditorium in the cinema on my 21st birthday, mind blown by this film, I heard someone ahead of me say "I've been waiting my while life to see a film like that". Which is how I felt too. Grew up with my dad reading me the book. The film could so easily have been shit but they just nailed it. The soundtrack and casting and design, just amazing. The Hobbit on the other hand.. Jesus what a load of shit! Can't believe it was even the same people.
@@subspaceanomaly did I understand it wrong or you just said that The Hobbit is shit? if so, why? because I honestly read the book, I loved it and I found the movies very well made. I have also the courage to say that I liked The Hobbit saga more than LOTR. I might not appreciate that they added Tauriel and Legolas just to put a romantic vibe that wasn't needed, but besides that the saga is superb. Actors did an incredible job, the soundtrack is just as good as LOTR's, special effects are very, very cool to watch, the places depicted and built are beautiful, the story is faithful to that of the book (Peter just decided to add a few things that honestly didn't damage the story at all, and I am saying this as a lover of The Hobbit book, I read it a lot of times). A few scenes are deleted obviously but you can see them by watching the extended version of the movies, and they are beautiful and some are also touching or funny.

@@Morgoth044 I think people who praised the LOTR trilogy to high heavens, then turned around and trashed The Hobbit films as being total crap are over-reacting in the most hyperbolic way. The main criticisms of The Hobbit, from what I can tell, are:
1. The LOTR extended editions (usually considered the best version) still had to condense/omit/change a lot of the original source material to keep the total runtime down to 11.4 hours. OTOH, the same film-makers really had to stretch the source material from The Hobbit, padding it with extra stuff from the LOTR appendices, plus make up stuff that never existed (Tauriel) for three films when one or two would have sufficed. The total runtime of the extended editions of The Hobbit trilogy is almost 9 hours. As books, the LOTR is over 1200 pages, while The Hobbit is around 300 pages long.
2. The LOTR trilogy used a lot more practical effects while on The Hobbit films, they relied a lot more (maybe too much) on CGI.
@@Lupin788 thank you for your explanation! but I still consider that calling The Hobbit saga a shit is way too much. I am re-reading the book right now and I can clearly notice that a lot of stuff are different, they changed a lot, but I think they were forced to. they changed a lot of scenes and dialogues, but the only difference is that they were inserted in different ways. I noticed that Thorin too (at least at the beginning) is different from how he is described in the book (temperamentally speaking of course), but I think it's not a big problem because in many ways he is still the same Thorin. for CGI, I think they would have done the exact same thing with LOTR in the past if they could, it was just different times. from 2010 onwards the CGI has come into "force" a lot and practically everyone abused and still abuses it, they think it makes things more real in the eyes of those who watch movies. but still, if we take the entire saga of The Hobbit and don't take it for individual things, it's really nice, especially for those who haven't read the books. I can understand that instead for those who have read them a lot of factors turn up their noses, I was the first to be skeptical when I saw Tauriel and I noticed that it was only inserted to put some romance in the saga.
besides all of this, some people know that Peter had a few problems when realizing this saga. lack of time mainly, so I really appreciate all the work him and his team did with all the problems they had.
