I can only say that’s a myth. It’s not in Calgary. I mean, yes, we had temperatures touching 30 degrees but only for 2-3 days. Same as Toronto. You can also google that Calgary has more sunny days than Toronto. I have spent one entire winter in Toronto and now in Calgary. I have not seen much difference. And comparing other benefits, this point will not matter because weather conditions are not that bad in Calgary. May be in different cities of Alberta and thanks to Chinook winds.

USA is better than Canada bang for buck imo. In Vancouver you and your wife will work full time. You will have 2 basement suites on rent. Gas and groceries will be purchased from usa because it's a rip off here. The only benefit of Canada is that immigration is easier. I think eventually most people who are wise should build themselves here and leave for usa
