Ah yes, continued plagiarism of the Universal Century, just what SEED does best. However, the HG GELGOOG Menace is one of the better kits the HG SEED Freedom roster has to offer. Besides breaking the mold with accurate colors and promising longevity, it also has a decent few weapons and the compatibility with the Wizard Packs of old. Is it free from flaws? No, though all of them stem from Okawara not knowing when enough is enough, as there are a lot of small paint apps to paint in. Otherwise, this is definitely one kit I'd highly recommend from SEED Freedom.

The Gelgoog Menace is the only seed freedom kit i want honestly, it looks so cool!!
Looks quite basic on paper, but cool in execution
@@mj2005gundam tbh anythings better than the Hguc Gelgoog Marine. I have a lot of kits based off old molds or old molds. So this would be the newest if I get it.
Right now the newest kit I have is the Ariel rebuilds.
If you think of it as having a Gelgoog Cannon (original) face it still fits sort of.
I hope this and the Zaku warrior get into gundam breaker 4 game
This and the gyan storm look awesome
I would have been somewhat excited for this suit... had they actually given it a Gelgoog face. As it stands, this isn't a Gelgoog, it's a Zaku cosplaying as a Gelgoog.

Waiting on actually seeing the movie for most of the GSF kits, but I think I'll get this one regardless. Overall great design and I love the weapon variety.
It is awesome by itself, so much so that the movie doesn't matter that much for incentivizing the purchase

You definitely shouldn't skip out on the Gelgoog Menace
Despite the flaws of the SEED Freedom line so far I still really enjoy the kits. I’d argue they’re just as fun to mess around with as the WFM line and are better in some aspects to their metal robot spirits counterparts. A solid line I’m gonna have fun completing for sure, can’t wait for the Destroy Gundam, Gelgoog Menace, and Gyan Strom to all arrive in the states!
Hopefully the rest of the guys arrive soon for you, and I'm glad you're enjoying the kits despite their flaws
I'm surprised by the amount of runners all these new Seed kits have but still require on sticker heavily to color correct.

Tbh I hate the stripes on the rising freedom wings and the wierd white edges and circles on the menace ones. The kit looks better without the stickers

A considerably a one of a kind HG kit despite the sticker usage. Since you mentioned the kits being loose from extensive handling, I can agree with that aspect. My copy of the Rising Freedom's backpack easily pops off, otherwise the joints are fine as it is. Although I wonder if Mighty Strike Freedom will be affected by the same issue of a loose backpack after the extensive handling.
I'm glad this kit doesn't disintegrate upon extensive handling, and that I'm not the only one experiencing such issues with the SEED Freedom kits. With that, I worry for the Mighty Strike Freedom as people might switch between making it the Type II and Mighty
Can we use Shiva backpack adapter to use the backpack on other 2 peg kits. The backpack might look good on some gm suits from UC
No. The hole on the Shiva's back plate is not 3mm. Though the single hole to double peg adapters some Build Fighters weapon sets have might do
What do you think overall about those new Seed Freedom kits ? I only have the Rising Freedom right now and I love it, love the Seed Action part and the kit is very solid, you can play with it and make different poses without everuthing's falling appart like some of the old kits.
I would like to buy now some other Seed Freedom kits, maybe the Black Knights, Gelgoog Menace or the Immortal Justice.
I personally don't like them as much as people would think. The only one that really caught my attention is the Gelgoog Menace, as the rest are highly color-inaccurate and/or loosen up quickly after a review session. It's not that I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt for engineering limitations, it's just the little things that taint my experience with them

The adapter port at the back of the railgun is probably for the mighty strike freedom tbh, since it’s railgun attached to the side skirts like the normal double beam rifles
Only time will tell
It's been about 2 months and my rising freedom and immortal justice are still solid despite occasionally switching up the poses. Idk if it's just the environment or if I'm lucky.
I wouldn't really expect ppl to think of this as an army builder; it and the Gyan Strom were both next-gen testbed suits in the movie with only a few units made.
Anyway, I'd like to see the HGCE Gelgoog Menace (Lunamaria Hawke Custom) (Hilda Harken Use) as a P-Bandai release. I just think seeing that as the name of the kit would be pretty funny.
Well, occasionally switching up the poses is still less frequent than what I had to do during a review, so it's still a bit early to tell, but a warning worth heeding.
Regardless, people who are prepping Railguns for their other units might get up to 5 of this kit just for that (before third-parties announced they'd be releasing the gun separately), so it's still a reasonable amount to have a team if they repainted it into the blue one.
The name will be hilarious, but it'd be just as easy to get this, the GYAN Strom, and swap the packs. If Bandai really intends to release this exact version with the B.O.L.E.L.O. S just for Hilda's version, I'd be laughing out loud
I feel like the second mounting point on the Railgun might be future proofing for the Mighty Strike Freeddom and the Spec 2 units.
I've looked, and the shapes don't look like they line up. Only time will tell though

Not without a single hole to double peg adapter. You should be able to find something like that from add-on sets like the Galaxy Booster.
I've always liked how SEED's take on Zeon machines always revives interest in UC Zeon stuff within the fandom, especially since it helps introduce those older machines to newer and younger audiences. Of course, it helps that I also really like the SEED designs for the Zeon mobile suits. I can't wait to get this. Out of curiosity, is the BOLELO A pack compatible with other High Grade kits from different lines? Or is it only compatible with other Seed Freedom kits?
I'd agree, especially when Japanese stores sold out of the HGUC Char's Z'gok because of the movie.
The BOLELO A. is mechanically a Wizard Pack so you can use it with the Zaku Warriors/Phantoms and the BUCuE Hound. The peg doesn't reach for use with the Strike, though I assume that single hole to double peg adapters can make it compatible with the universal standard kits as well

Do you paint your kits all the way or is your matte top coat just *really* good?
I do paint my kits, but this one needed no major painting. It's a combo of topcoat and lighting I believe. I also had to set my camera to depict its actual pink color instead of the orange in literally every other videos, else I feel like it'd be misrepresented
This maybe just me but I feel like when this was being desgined for the movie they probably took inspiration from not the original gelgoog but from the RF gelgoog (and maybe by extension for the gyan storm they looked at the RF gyan)
I definitely see the resemblances. On the other hand, I don't think they did that much homework for the production of SEED Freedom knowing the retcons and inconsistencies they've thrown into the movie

Nice colors and design, don't care too much about the "halberd", but overall tempted to get it! Also nice to see a shield that can be held like a boss-held shield/buckler-style.

It is one of the nicer kits in the series so far. And I'm so glad the Kerberos Wizard is usable on this kit just in case someone has that instead of the ZAKU Warriors/Phantoms

BuCUE was peak SEED grunt design. :/

To a degree, but it's not too stiff so that they can be moved without worrying about breaking the joint

Building this kit now. I’m a bit saddened that the railgun and missiles aren’t attached to the wings by a 3mm peg. It would be really sick to make your own weapons loadouts with Build Fighters and 30 Minute Missions weapons. Missed opportunity from Bandai.

Based on WiKi, this variant of GELGOOG was developed from ZAKU Warrior (Cosmic Era Zaku)
EDIT: Also, that new rifle seems appropriate for Destiny Spec II

@@mj2005gundam I was gonna say, it was developed from ZAKU Warrior and as for GOUF IGNITED, it was developed to Gyan Strom.
I have plenty of reasons for buying multiple copies of this Gunpla. 😂

I'm so not looking forward to painting the Gyan. Apart from that, hopefully the kit redeems its character from the movie
@@mj2005gundam Tbh it doesn't look that bad. I've painted on worse kits. For me personally, it is just a cool kit, ive got zero attachment to any Seed Character.

@@mj2005gundam Oh, i haven't honestly payed any attention to the line art tbh. Working 12hrs at a factory, i get what i can get out of there.
Just looked at the images between the two as i was writing this. Meh, it isn't bad, but the biggest issue between the two is the wings, so i can see your point. Colors to me are meh, i usually paint my kits. But the proportions and panels are not to far off for my taste. Could also just be the difference in backpack types for what is animated and what is produced currently/announced.
Do you use a pop filter for your voice over recordings? I've noticed plosives while watching your most recent vids with my subwoofer on.

@@mj2005gundam your production value and presentation have really stepped up. It could only make it even better.
Never got warmed up to SEED or Destiny. Apart from laser spam, i didn't care for its tendency for winged thruster packs either. While it does look cool, it also feels lazy and cheapens the significance since almost every design has it.
Still, I might get this anyway, along with the Gyan, the Murasame Kai & the Mighty Strike. These ones feel like they are worth it.
I mean, the Goog and Mighty Strike Freedom are the two that I'd really recommend now. Can't say for the GYAN, but I hope future entries continue to impress.
BTW I feel the same way about sub arms in Knights and Magic as you do for beam spam and wings in SEED

I'm really excited for the Gyan sturm. On one hand i love the gyan and it's an interesting take on the design, on the other hand i feel this line of kit is really overdesigned, and the stickers go too far for me.
Okawara needs to know where to stop with the accenting. And yes, while I am looking forward to the Gyan Strom, I'm not looking forward to fixing the blue they messed up for the kit
im torn on this unit on the one hand its gelgoog and i LOVE gelgoog s like the zaku it's a favorite Zeon MS 2nd only to the Gouf, but on the other hand I saw a better CE variant made by a fan on deviant art years ago and he even gave me permission to make my own custom blue version (both are still on deviant art ). Design-wise its ok but again for a movie we waited 20 years for, and a fan design is even Better not to mention they are just taking Blatantly Zeon MS without even trying to make something new, The Zaku, Gouf, and Dom were a nice Throw-back, but this is Just Lazy and cheap Plagiarism. again, like the Rising Freedom and immortal Justice if they were for a Build series id have NO Issues i might even love them same for the Gelgoog and as a Gelgoog i want to love it and it does have some features I like, but I know this was just thrown in last minute cuz they were being cheap and Lazy and even then, i know they could have done Much more!
Oh, remember the BuCUEs, CGUEs, GINNs, GOOhNs, etc.? Yeah, me too. On the one hand, I don't really mind the GELGOOG in a vacuum, but I can't stand the blatant plagiarism with it and the Z'GOK.

@@megagundamva2694 I understand the GSF Z'Gok since it does look way too similar to the original, but the GYAN Strom is very different from the original Gyan in all the right ways. Hell, the GOUF Ignited and DOM Trooper are more similar to the Gouf and Dom than the GYAN Strom is to the Gyan. The original Gyan didn't have stuff like a beam rifle, revolving beam buzzsaw, or chest beam gatlings among others, and the GYAN Strom is notably more angular than the more rounded Gyan.

Now we are 2 for 2 when it comes to the seed freedom kits finally proving their worth. I'm glad that this one is able to hold on to all of its accessories without falling apart or losing pieces and that in spite of the massive use of stickers you can easily just not use them if you don't want to or you can paint them in if you want. Not to mention the Rail gun does look really really cool and despite the fact that I was never a big fan of Luna getting the Zeon mobile suits, I can at least say that with this one it does look great it's very stable and the accessories it has are plentiful. Though now I can't help but think that Luna is probably riding Shinn like a dog with her eyes glowing like her Gelgoog...... What have you done to my brain lol. Anyway another fantastic solid review and great that we're finally getting another recommended seed freedom kit!
I'm glad that they manage to nail everything with this kit despite the disagreements with cameras (They hate reds). This kit's only flaw is that Okawara doesn't know when to stop adding accents. Otherwise, it is a fantastic kit overall, one that doesn't suffer from extensive handling
It's either this or that cool looking Gyan
So far, I'd pick this in a heartbeat. Though, that verdict still is one month too early to be delivered

I seriously don't know weather to cry or laugh at the destiny gundam idunno why but i always love that design and seeing it just be tacked on as a spec 2 by giving it a rifle and making it mostly grey is just i dunno man
Yes sure, but I'm not gonna get another of these just for the railgun. And I agree that it's so lazy of them to reuse the Destiny design by giving it a recolor
@@mj2005gundam atleast for the justice and freedom they still got some new Knickknacks like the beam horn for the justice and that forehead laser for the freedom, i guess the destiny getting the zeus silhouette is still something but it still feels tacked on especially since it's not a exclusive destiny gundam upgrade as we saw the akatsuki use it i just wish the destiny gundam got its own upgrade
This is only me but i dont find all of the seed freedom kits interesting or a must buy
I don't find many of them all that recommendable to be honest. This and the Rudra are the only two I'd actually recommend
this is a good review but describing the number of runners in terms of how much "content" is in the box does crack me up

@@mj2005gundam no i understood what you meant, i just thought the specific wording was funny. like in my head talking about something having a lot of "content" is how you talk about like, how many TV shows are on Netflix or something, not a physical object. maybe that's just a me thing though
really not a fan of this design. Feels like a GINN trying and failing at a Gelgoog cosplay rather than a genuine Seed Gelgoog. The insanely long waist doesn't help either. I was hoping the runner placement could leave hope for the backpack alone being reused in another kit down the line but that seems unlikely. Alas.
While your disappointments for the design are valid, the runners actually allow the BOLELO A. pack to be separate from the kit, as the A and B runners are entirely devoted to that pack. Now just to see if what looks to be the BOLELO S. on the Gyan Strom does the same
