I use my old vintage V-system equipment on my X2D and it all works perfectly from the bellows, 140mm-280mm f5.6 macro zoom to the 500mm F8. I have not tried adapting any other 3rd party lenses to it ..... yet.
Thanks for your comment. I don't have that many V lenses (I still use them on my Hasselblad 500C/M), but I have tried the 80mm, 150mm, and the 250mm. I find them a bit front heavy and I don't like the pull on the X2D body. I guess the 500mm has a tripod foot, that would help a lot. When I use the Canon 200mm in this review, I'm very happy it has a tripod foot, as this is also a very front heavy system. I would like to get the Hasselblad HC 300mm, which also has a tripod socket, but it's too expensive.
I use some Mamiya 645 and Pentax 645 lenses on X1D and GFX50S and got very good results as well. I am putting together a Cambo Actus equivilent with large and medium format film camera parts with the intent to shoot RB67 lenses as well. I'd say the possibilities are endless.
Thanks for your comment. I have also used a Mamiya 645 lens, the "normal" 80mm f2.8 on my X1D and X2D, and even that lens, probably the cheapest lens in the Mamiya 645 line-up, did provide very good image quality. In the next episode, that I'm shooting at the moment, the lenses are not high in image quality, but they provide a look that's impossible to get with native Hasselblad glass. But it is always nice there are also vintage lenses that give good IQ.
Thank you for your valuable contents.. There are a few good primes lenses for XCD mounts, X1D and X2D.. I was a Canon R5 shooter and used to shoot the moon with RF100-500mm. As you know, there is no telephoto lens in XCD lens system, such as RF100-500mm. Do you have to know any adapter for X2D that can be mounted on? I have been one in Amazon for RF lenses.. Not quite sure about that. This is the site. Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter Compatible with Hasselblad V-Mount SLR Lenses to Canon RF (EOS-R) Mount Mirrorless Camera Bodies at AMAZON. Please let me know.. thanks again.
Whether you can adapt a lens to another system primarily depend on one factor, is the flange distance of the system of the lens so much larger that there is room for an adapter. If you look at this information en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance you'll see that Canon RF is only 2mm larger than Hasselblad XCD. That's make it very difficult to make an adapter. Canon EF lenses have much larger flange distance, therefore there are EF to Hasselblad X adapter available. I use a EF 100-400 mm zoom, it vignettes a bit, but it can be used on the Hasselblad. You can find my review on youtube here: th-cam.com/video/gGtPEp6FoQw/w-d-xo.html
I have a lot of EF glass, using R5 and R5C lately. Combining RF and EF. All works great. Planning to put all Canon into video production and get X2D for studio photography, so I found your videos very useful. Can you pls explain leaf shutter. Is it in the adapter?
Hi could you give me some info on your cheap add-on Arca Swiss foot, I have the Canon 300mm F 2.8 L IS and I am looking for a Arca Swiss foot like you have used. By the way the 300mm L lens is great on my X1D virtually no vignetting and nice and sharp. Kind Regards Gary.
INteresting video. Would be curious to see if the 300 2.8 verison would do about as good as the 200 on the Hassy body.
Me too. Unfortunately, I have never owned or tried that lens

@@key2adventure I agree. I have a 55mm/2.8, 80mm/1.9, 110mm/2.8 and they are great.
@@What_Other_Hobbies Oh yes, I owned the 80mm f1.9 years ago, what a stunning lens.

@@key2adventure Thank you.. Do you happen to know if there are any third party long telephoto lens that can be used with or without adaptor with X2D?
@@jaekim5397 I don't know any, that mount directly.
@@key2adventure Thanks.. Live in UK?
@@jaekim5397 No, I live in Denmark.

You can’t use leaf shutter, electronic shutter is the way to go, although it narrows the usability
@@key2adventure959 Thank you!!
You have to use the electronic shutter when using all lenses which arnt leaf shutter such as Canons etc.

Not much I can give, as the lens came with this foot. 300 f2.8 sounds great
Do you have flash capabilities while using vintage lenses?
As you use electronic shutter, it is not possible with these cameras.
